About 3 days ago my connection speed suddenly dropped from 2megs to 500kbps and has stayed at that level.

 

Sky say they have checked my line and i have 'internal set-up' problems. They go on to ask various questions which basically amount to a pro-forma run through of the initial standard set up eg filters in place etc.

 

The bottom line is that i had it installed by a Sky technician last year and i've touched nothing since.

 

Any thoughts?

She didnt mention that you had been capped for exceeding your download limit did she? I know in my flat at uni virgin limit our speed if we download over a certain amount at "peak" times. Bunch of nazis.

If you're using a wireless router, try connecting up with a cable to see if you still get slow speeds, if not then it's probably one (or more) of the many problems you can get with a wireless connection.

No, it's supposed to be unlimited.
