Micky Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 Surely a frozen pitch it not a good excuse when everyone knew it would be cold this week, Walsall could have covered the pitch and used heaters. Very frustrated at the number of Saturday games being moved to midweek because of postponements. True, but it's not just the pitch that has to be 'playable' - its the whole stadium and surrounding areas that have to be safe for fans as well.
NickG Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 just a cunning plan to build up fixtures for our new signings in January plus fit Barnard, Chaplow and Rickie!
Panda Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 TBF, it is -10 in Poland at the moment. Yes, but we were due to play Walsall, not Warsaw!
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 Merry Christmas Saints you useless ****ers. Lay off the Christmas pudding Lardass. You know who you are.
Lighthouse Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 Yes, but we were due to play Walsall, not Warsaw! Yes, you've spotted the little joke there. Have a sticker.
paris Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 Some other matches of aswell and probarbly more to come .....
beatlesaint Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 It wouldn't be that surprising if Charlton was called off either. That would be very possible with this cold snap expected to last well into next week.
trousers Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 Game re-arranged for Tuesday 1st March 2011 @ 7:45pm
CHAZZA 92 Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 Cancel all the games until Barney is fully fit!!
paris Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 There's a silver lining in there somewhere i'm sure ....
Dalek2003 Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 This is the Third Division ! In my youth footballers played in any weather ! Get the shovels out and the orange ball...let the buggers get on with it.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 Thank f*** for that. Could see it being a bad result after our self destruction and Walsall's fantastic win @ The Valley. I'll take all the P/P's that come our way that will get played when (fingers crossed) we have a stronger squad.
IFHP Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 I know we'll get to play these games later but sliding right down the table isn't going do anything for players confidence.... Brenford, Leyton Orient, Hartlepool, Rochdale and Yeovil have also been called off today so I don't think we will be sliding down that much.
Junction 9 Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 The game is postponed guys due to the weather, just seen on the Echo webiste.
IFHP Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 The game is postponed guys due to the weather, just seen on the Echo webiste. Thanks for the upto date information.
saintalan Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 New Date For Walsall Trip Saints to try again at the Banks's stadium on Tuesday 1st March 2011 at 7.45pm.
Charlie Wayman Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 ****ing hell. ****ing weather, why cant it just **** off. **** sake. **** my life. Now im just going home too see the parents / friends, and not the mighty saints. Who gives a **** about parents / friends? How ****ing boring. **** **** **** **** ****. Very well put Jonny, many may have thought the same but only you could find the words! Out here we're automatically stuffed if it snows, the council don't even bother to clear our local minor roads so we'll all be house-bound again 'til it thaws. What's worse is we don't have Sky so no footie anywhere
Dr Who? Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 Looking at the weather I would be very suprised if any games are on in our league tomorrow!
Window Cleaner Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 Looking at the weather I would be very suprised if any games are on in our league tomorrow! just 3 or 4 for the moment, I noticed that most games are still on the in Championship though, clubs obviously have the wherewithal to face up to the situation in that League.God I hate being in the 3rd division, it really is purgatory.

I quite like being in League 1 cheap tickets no large crowds and I can see clubs when I want which I only dreamed about like MK Dons Dagenham and Redbridge and Hartlepool Doubt whether I will go if we ever return to the PL Doubt I w

Lend me a tenner then:rolleyes:
John B Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 Only Pay £10 at St Mary's as an OAP so I think it is good value especially as the beer is cheap in the Guide Dog as well
Lighthouse Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 Exeter vs Wednesday is the only fixture going ahead at the moment. So much for falling behind everyone else.
Ziggy Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 A good decision. The weather is shocking up here.
Window Cleaner Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 A good decision. The weather is shocking up here. Global Warming don'tcha know.We obviously need to bump up Carbon Emissions again, since the "civilised world" started cutting back the winters have been getting worse and worse and starting earlier.
Dalek2003 Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ! ZZZ zzzzzzzzzzzz .......zzzzZZZzzzzzzzz ! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ! I hate Saturdays when we don't play.

I hate Saturdays when we don't play. Absolutely. I feel a bit lost, the snow is putting me off from even heading to supermarket to get shopping in...
S-Clarke Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 great weekend for us then really, nothing has changed in league terms. Exeter v Wednesday was the only game on....and Wednesday are losing that 3-1.
Lighthouse Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 great weekend for us then really, nothing has changed in league terms. Exeter v Wednesday was the only game on....and Wednesday are losing that 3-1. Ssssshhhhhhhh!!!!!! Some of us are trying to pretend all the other fixtures went ahead and that all 22 teams won.
RonManager Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 great weekend for us then really, nothing has changed in league terms. Exeter v Wednesday was the only game on....and Wednesday are losing that 3-1. 4-1 now - this league is bonkers.
Window Cleaner Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 4-1 now - this league is bonkers. in fact I think that would put Exeter above us wouldn't it?? True with a game more played but their recent form isn't too dusty. Shows our level I think....ie about the same as everyone else's.
Lighthouse Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 A quick butchers at the top of the Championship makes for encouraging reading. QPR - 41 Leeds - 38 ---------------------------- Cardiff - 37 Swansea -37 Norwich -36 Coventry -34 ---------------------------- Just goes to show, not only is this League sh*t, so is 3/4 of the Championship. If we could only get our act together, we could be right up there and looking at promotion to the Premier League in 18 months. A big IF, but doable given patience.
Matthew Le God Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 Norwich and Leeds squad aren't much different to their League One squads from last season. The Championship is quite a poor league really, not much of a jump from top of League One to the upper reaches of the Championship.
WATERSIDEIFASAINT Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 Bet Sheff Wed wished they had been snowed off. They have been the only top side to play in the 2 weeks every other game has been called off due to the weather and they have lost both to Swindon and Exeter. This is excellent news for us as they have money to spend in Jan and will definately be a major challenger for those top 2 automatics at the end of the season. We just need to get our act in order now!!!
