NorthamSteve Posted 13 December, 2010 Posted 13 December, 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/blackburn_rovers/9283395.stm !!!!!!!!!!!!
Hatch Posted 13 December, 2010 Posted 13 December, 2010 got to say, didn't see that one coming. Would have got pretty decent odds on the next manager to go market.
itchen_dan Posted 13 December, 2010 Posted 13 December, 2010 Even though their football ain't pretty, he's done a brilliant job there under the circumstances. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go to West Ham when they eventually get around to sacking that idiot in charge.
Colinjb Posted 13 December, 2010 Posted 13 December, 2010 5 points clear of the drop, 5 short of europe. Playing course yet reasonably effective football and linked with the England job! Bizare sacking. Chris Houghton to get straight back into management?
Super_Uwe Posted 13 December, 2010 Posted 13 December, 2010 Nothing surprises me in football. I've thought long and hard about Big Sam, and at the end of the day he's a decent manager. I don't blame him for one second for being the way he is because football nowadays demands instant results due to the financial hardship caused by relegation. If you want someone who will keep you up, there's no-one better; in six seasons with Bolton in the Prem he finished 16th, 17th, 8th, 6th, 8th, 7th, and with Blackburn he finished 15th and 10th (obviously Newcastle was a blip but he wasn't there long!). I can only assume the new Blackburn owners are extremely ambitious and have a rabbit to pull out of the hat.
surrey1saint Posted 13 December, 2010 Posted 13 December, 2010 Can't think of a manager better equipped to keep Blackburn up.Big mistake IMO.
DS Posted 13 December, 2010 Posted 13 December, 2010 Yet more confirmation that football is mental. Do owners of medium sized clubs in today's corporate football environment realistically think that their clubs should be pushing to win the premier league?* The Big Sam is not happy about the decision btw ;-) http://twitter.com/TheBig_Sam *hint: they can't. Its not right but until some sort of revolution it is what the way of things.
krissyboy31 Posted 13 December, 2010 Posted 13 December, 2010 Good riddance!! Hope we don't see him back in football any time soon!!
Thedelldays Posted 14 December, 2010 Posted 14 December, 2010 lol many rovers fans are over the moon..
scott_saints Posted 14 December, 2010 Posted 14 December, 2010 Shame he didn't get sacked a little earlier, would have been an ideal replacement for Hughton. Oh.
Andy_Porter Posted 14 December, 2010 Posted 14 December, 2010 Lets hope its his last job in English management, I can't stand his style of football, it's horrible.
