As much as I would love us to get someone like Pilkington, I really, really can't see that happening.

People go on about Austin and yes that is more realistic him leaving as he is scoring non-stop and Swindon are at the wrong end of the table. I'm sure Swindon could also use the money.

Huddersfield however are a bit of an up and coming club who are also in the top 6. I'm sure the Huddersfield reps could easily sell it to him even if he does want to leave that they have every chance of going up as we do. And the main point, they've got a bit of money behind them and have no reason whatsoever to sell.

Be great if it happened though :)

we've rotated Chaplow, Hammond and Morgan so why not Chamberlain, Lallana and Pilkington. Long old season...

Because apparently we only use eleven players in our squad

Anyway i don't want Pilkington here...he once had the audacity to celebrate a goal....what a turd...

Jose Sameda is a player I have always liked. Its a very long season so a 4th central midfielder would be great. As Boycott always says imagine the game with 2 more wickets down and the same shoudl apply to lost central midfielders especially when we have this brilliant run in the FA Cup. The Old dear is getting married on Cup final day so my advice is have a bet on Saints to make the final this year!

Don't see why people are so negative. We have enough allure and potential to attract Pilkington. We're going places. Huddersfield don't have the same potential as us.

Either way he's a great player and I'd LOVE it if we signed him, LOVE it.

Except that Poyet has excellent Spurs connections ...

Don't want to deflate everyone, but I have heard we have put a bid in for a young lad, London team ( championship? ). More promise than the finished article. This came from a Spurs source, but I don't believe it is their player, more one they have been looking at as well. Should not be too difficult for anyone who knows their onions as I can only guess it will be from Palace, Watford or Millwall??

Fits in with the Cadogan rumour earlier perhaps.

I recall seeing him in the live FA cup game a few years back and he looked a decent player, very much a natural goalscorer. Of course its quite a jump, but we've seen Austin and Boyd do it so who knows. I can't see us signing him. The thing with having money (in relative terms) is you can dispense with the need to gamble.

Seen Tubbs play plenty of times for Salisbury, he actually went on loan from them to Bournemouth a few of years ago.

when he's playing well he is a great finisher, but very much a confidence player.

He's small and most similar to Connelly of our current forwards

He scored a cracker for Crawley against Swindon in Fa cup this year with volley hit with outside of foot

A cynic might say that Saints are holding back the news that Guly has signed permanently to give them a "player signs" headline this month in the event that the bids they've put on for other players don't come off.

Good job I'm not a cynic... ;-)

Tubbs is a local player for local teams, we'll have none of his trouble here!

From 606:

'Ipswich striker Tamas Priskin is being chased by Swansea City and Southampton. Ipswich have been offered £1m for the Hungarian, but sources refuse to name who has offered a fee. "Tamas has no future at the club, and they have recieved a reasonable offer for him. He wants to stay in England and whether that be be in the Premiership, Championship or League One, he is prepared to hold talks with interested parties".'

if we got priskin thatd be so sick prem teams were looking at him last season

Would be brilliant at League 1 level. Absolutely brilliant.

Only 24, proven at Championship level with Premiership experience. Was once linked to FC Koln as a like for like replacement for Lukas Podolski.

Would be staggered if we got him.
