if fit, he plays in the Prem.

Surely the point is that if he's looking to gain match fitness, a prem team would not risk him - there's too much to play for. A mid-lower CCC team might take a risk on him, but then we've got fantastic training and recovery facilities few other teams outside the Prem have got.

There's a lot of positives for a player from a higher league coming here on loan, but the key issue I think is that Adkins is not the type of man that will bring in somebody like Woodgate because (a) he would expect to get 1st team football and (b) that could very easily unsettle the squad.

i bet someone did

Have to say that since that epic event in 1980 I have not heard a single Saints fan say they had any idea that the signing of KK was a possibility. No ITK'ers from that, although I have also wondered how different it might have been if the internet was around at the time.

We heard a rumour on the Saturday before Keegan signed, from a mate Kev West.

I think the rumour originated from someone who used to stand under Lawries office. in one of the turnstile entrances.

Didn't think it was true, chuffed to **** on the Monday when I found out it was.

According to a Sheffield Wednesday site, Sheffield Wednesday, Bournemouth, Peterborough, Swindon and Charlton are all after Brian Stock..

so let me get this straight, he's a starter at Doncaster in the CCC but only League 1 clubs are interested in him...suggests he's not up to that level then...which probably isn't right.Football fans do tend to cotton on to the most unlikely of ideas sometimes.Stock will be in the same place on the 1st feb as he is now....at Doncaster.

I have a feeling Adam Le Fondre will turn up at St Mary's at some point.

Here is what Nigel Adkins said about him on 3rd September 2010 when he was still S****horpe manager...

"He's a goalscorer. Roger Wylde, the physio at Stockport told me years ago that they had a good young kid who scores goals, he's gone on and done well at Rochdale and scored goals. We've watched him on several occasions, as we've thought players might move on from our club. I went to watch him last year. I watched him against Rochdale, we actually took Dagnall from them but it is fair to say I was watching both of them on the night. Ronnie Moore is going to try hard to keep him, but if he works hard he will get rewards."

I thought Pilkington looked their most dangerous player today, put in some great crosses with either feet. He would be one of my targets if Puncheon were to leave.

I agree with Matthew Le God that I feel that Le Fondre will be a Saints player and I also reckon by the end of January. He knows where the net is, Something our strikers are struggling with at the moment. Signing him will mean that Guly is free to return to an attacking midfield role leaving Lambert, Barnard, Le Fondre and Connolly to fight it out for 2 forward positions.

All I feel we need is a winger and another striker and our squad will be complete IMO.

My nipper has trained up at Stoke a few times & I know a couple of the junior coaches.

Apparently Andrew Davies contract is about to be paid up & he is available for nothing. He knows Huddersfield have asked about him, but that he was very happy down here & would love to come back if there was a chance.

Not saying it is going to happen, but I think we could do worse than get him back in if he is available for nothing. I think he would work well with Jose.

How did his loan spell at Walsall go?

My boro chum tells me he is on trial with them, looking to resign there.

didn't even make it through the month, thigh muscle tear I think. Good player but oh so injury prone.Would probably be fighting with Connolly for the newspaper in the treatment room every morning.

Connolly is arguably the most skilful player in the team, however, he spends too much time in the treatment room.
