Smirking_Saint Posted 20 December, 2010 Share Posted 20 December, 2010 Reading have been in the financial sh!ts for a while, AutoTrader went waaaaaaaay down in the market and Madejski lost a lot of money from it. Rumour had it about a year ago that he was going to sell up to try and recoup some of the money he has lost from AutoTrader. While we're talking about Reading players, Jem Karacan would be good. Does a similar job to Chaplow, but younger and better technically. Yeah, apparantly he has been open to offers at Reading for a while. He has also recently pumped some cash into some housing somewhere or buildings contracts or something. From what i have heard he is not going to cut and run from the royals but if someone came in with a serious offer he will take it and has said he has not the cash to fund any real player signings. It must be worth a look, Reading is not far from us, we are arguably a bigger side and on the up (alledgedly lol), we have the cash. They have a lot of players that i would consider. Mills, Mcanuff, Karacan, Church, Howard. I don't know about Long as i have never rated him but he would probably do well in this league.

Just another player who isn't getting a game at his parent club trying to drum up some interest now that we have a transfer window coming up. If he was any cop he'd still be t Norwich I suppose.Probably the type of deal we'll be running after though.

Window Cleaner Posted 20 December, 2010 Share Posted 20 December, 2010 (edited) Was he the winger who gave Harding a real run-around? I thought that was one of the succession of Willamses that they turned out, seem to remember Williams being replaced by Williams who was in his turn replaced by Williams.Same dirty little crap that got Morgan sent off last season I expect, fast and tricky but overly free with his elbows. Patred is connected and usually on the money; he also has links up in Norwich, though I cannot remember how/why (goalkeeping coach of some kind?). Martin was banging them in for Norwich last season in L1, so that would be a very useful signing. I just wonder why they would want to let him go, even in part-ex for Puncheon (if indeed they are after him).

You cant compare the two based on seeing one player once and the other over the course of a season and a half. Excellent point but then that is the sort of nonsense you get on here. Ryan Harley isn't a bad player and at 25 is at the peak of his career. He has done nothing in that time to suggest that he is significantly better than a League 1 player. Morgan is much younger and still developing. He has excellent games but shows the inconsistency of his youth and needs to kick-on in the next year or two. Harley does not represent a clear advantage over Morgan. Why would we want to change them? Hammond isn't quite so young; he could do with a rest as it looks as if he has been run into the ground this season. Getting Chaplow in to allow that to happen seems sensible and if we could get someone in - like Norris or Stock - who would definitely add something it would be worth getting one more in in the centre of the park but players that are that likley to work dont grow on trees. Just changing players for the sake of it is not how you build a club or a team.
niemi14 Posted 22 December, 2010 Share Posted 22 December, 2010 Just had a look on the PFA website and notice that Jeremie Aliadiere and Febian Brandy are both on free transfers, not bad strikers for this level? I am a big fan of Kelvin Davis but if Adkins does want to replace the keeper, I notice that Brian Jensen has handed in a transfer request, he made some brilliant saves in the PL for Burnley last season. Another Burnley player who could certainly DAJFU is Kevin MacDonald, who has just returned to them on loan from S****horpe. Only 22 and a real good prospect. Would be good to see us bringing in some players who would be able to help challenge at the right end of the Championship if we can get there this season. Maybe that's the key point - at this level. Maybe neither player wants to be at this level having been at top 4 Prem clubs albeit with minimal success. Come February, after clubs have done their transfer window business, these 2 might be more willing to get their careers going again in League 1. MarkSFC Posted 23 December, 2010 Share Posted 23 December, 2010 Chris Martin would be great...linked up very well with the "big" Holt and so maybe would help to bring Lambert alive again. Young and full of energy...perhaps the move to the Championship has happened slightly too quickly for him and if Norwich go up again then maybe he could be left behind. A move to us would probably be very good for him!!!! Norwich dont have loads of money so maybe they are going to gamble a bit in Jan and try and hit the Premier jackpot so they may well sell. Not too sure about a winger no one seems to have heard about but then Antonio and Waigo werent. In Adkins we trust!

Deppo Posted 23 December, 2010 Share Posted 23 December, 2010 Just about Saints related, but Posh have agreed to sell Mclean to Hull for £1.3M according to SSN how? Posh = Peterborough Southampton = Saints ie Saint Peter - the disciple who denied knowing Jesus three times before repenting In other words. Sky have repoted this story knowing it to be untrue (they have denied Jesus) and will have to repent so that they don't go to Hull (Hell) and recognise the truth that Mclean (Jesus) is in fact on his way to St Mary's (his mother's womb) and the world will be put right again/we'll get promoted. Even though Aliadiere has a goal scoring record of 1 goal in what seems every 3.5 years! He's truely an awful player, I know he used to play for Arsenal, but just look at his goalscoring record. 21 goals in 151 games for a striker is pathetic!!
