Here's an idea. Every time a player has a bad game we buy a replacement. Eventually we will have all the good players so we will HAVE to win every match then...won't we???

Then we will steam through the leagues and after that win the European Cup!

I find it mildly amusing the way everybody wants to get rid of someone after a bad game. A few weeks back Jaidi was "immense" and Davis was a hero for saving a penalty. The fact is, we are a typical L1 team. When all our good players are in the side, and they have their heads in the right space, we will beat any other team tin this league. Unfortunately, the reason MOST of the players are in this league, is because a) They really aren't that good and b) They think they are better than they are.

As a consequence the results are erratic to say the least.

For what it's worth, I would like to see a small turnover of players in January. Maybe get rid of some deadwood (the usual suspects...Forecast, Pulis, Holmes, Wotton), and if possible bring in an aggressive midfielder and a speedy goal poacher - but I would think that most Div 1 teams are looking for the same.

x2 :)

Hahaha, so we'd have signed 3 of the leagues top strikers of recent years in Lambert, Barnard and Austin, spent an absolute fortune and only then would we have a chance of making the top 6?

And at the same time as we scrape 6th with this expensively assembled League 1 allstars, Bournemouth and Brighton can sit smugly above us in automatic promotion. FFS.

Let me explain this nice and slowly for you. Lambert has scored ONE goal from open play this season, ONE. Barnard, whilst working hard and having some injury problems, has been far from prolific yet other clubs' strikers who cost less are firing well. NC has said promotion must come this season so we have to go for it. Why our strikers are lacking so much sharpness only people inside the club could tell you but we are at the stage where automatic promotion is still salvagable. Should we be in the top 2 with our current forward line? Yes, without a doubt but they are not performing at anywhere near an acceptable standard although Barnard will make an admirable back-up as he has at least occasionally looked like scoring.

If we are going to give our new forwards a chance of scoring, our poor performing midfield needs a bloody good overhaul and a serious injection of pace, energy and threat. Harley from Exeter, Chaplow on a perm deal and Weston from Brentford (pace!) would provide that and we should get a decent fee for Morgan S who really must be sold on as he doesn't want to be here and I'm sure we want him to be here any longer either. Hammond and Gobern would be decent back-up.

If we need to bring money in, I'd rather Arsenal took AOC than Lallana leaving as Lallana will have more impact. I also think Adam is more likely to stay and give promotion a chance. I'd hate seeing AOC leave but we MUST get out of League One this season, even you understand that surely?

We could do with stripping Huddersfield of a player or two - Jordan? Novak?

Danns, Le Fondre and Harley are probably the best shouts, I'd take a punt on Le Fondre rather than Austin.

A CM is needed (probably in addition to Chaplow). A CB is needed.

Charlie Austin is a good player at this level, but I have it on good authority from people who have played with him and against him, that he is an utter douchebag, a real "Big I am" player and prone to childish temper tantrums! With rumours of dressing room unrest at Swindon, I would be amazed if he wasn't at the centre of it.

Fryatt is not making it beyond the Leicester bench at the moment.

A weeks ago someone posted the name Martin Woolford, one of Adkin's former proteges.Expect he might find the prospect of our promotion charge more appealing than the relegation fight looming,if he stays at Svaginathorpe. Doubtful they'll sell him to us easily though.

Nc said that players we will be looking at should be good enough for next season in the championship and he wants to be challenging for the top 6 in the first season so I think we should be thinking high end championship players ?

The Daily Mail in being wrong shocker, Speroni has signed a new deal.

How does that make the Daily Mail wrong? I don't like to defend the Daily Mail :D but... their article on 3rd December says the two players will be sold IF they don't sign a new deal. Then 8 days later Speroni signs a new deal. So it certainly doesn't show the Daily Mail to be wrong.

I made the mistake of not checking the date of the article. I assumed it was from the past couple of days.

Michael Kightly on loan from Wolves? A long shot but if Ramsay can end up at Forrest under Davies then anything's possible! Upfront a cheeky bid for Keogh (Adkins managed hm before). Has Febian Brandy got a club yet? Also thought Pugh at Bournemouth has looked pretty good

He certainly has. Attacking left winger with an eye for a goal. Been outstanding for them this season.

In: Pacey winger is a must for me....dare I say Antonio? ;)

Decent forward....Fryatt, Austin, anyone who can score goals at this level really.

A decent and physical center back wouldn't go a miss either....must have a bit more pace than Jaidi though. Any ideas?

Out: Guly (utter horse poo), Pulis and Seabourne.

Has been an improvement this season but would much rather see Martin and Jaidi ahead of him with someone new and a little more experienced bought in as well.

We saw very little movement in the summer, modest loans in the loan period so we may see 1 or at most 2 in the Jan window, one of whom may be Chaplow. I don't think it is a money problem more an availability one. May be some cheap buys from Scunny to boost Adkins position in the dressing room.

Sounds a plan. Bournemouth are skint. They signed him at a tribunal for £60K, plus £40K to come. I reckon if we offered £250K they'd snap our hands off.

Dany N'Guessen will be extremely familar to Adkins from his time at Lincoln and its no surprise he went to Scunny on loan. I wonder if he would be willing to drop down a league of we offered a permanent deal?

Up front Justin Richards at Port Vale is worth a look as is Craig Davies from Chesterfield. Gary Roberts, also at Port vale is highly regarded.

I know we hear all this talk of the transfer Market being extremely slow at the moment but surely those clubs in severe financial difficulty, of which there are many, would be very willing to sell? Sheffield United for example are in desperate need of cash, surely they have someone who cdajfu?

I always rated Mark Yates when he was at Colchester. There is no reason for him or most of the SUFC players to drop down a division.

Reading have been in the financial sh!ts for a while, AutoTrader went waaaaaaaay down in the market and Madejski lost a lot of money from it. Rumour had it about a year ago that he was going to sell up to try and recoup some of the money he has lost from AutoTrader. While we're talking about Reading players, Jem Karacan would be good. Does a similar job to Chaplow, but younger and better technically.

Funny you should say that SM - I was at a corporate event where Madejski was the main speaker - all he did was say what he had done but more importantly it sounded as everything he had done was up for sale!
