Yep, on this link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/9359408.stm He clearly says will are looking to bring people in and that it will hot up towards the end of the window. hypochondriac Posted 19 January, 2011 Share Posted 19 January, 2011 He said precisely that on Solent after the N C match. Thanks for that. Made me waste 6 minutes of my life re-listening to an interview that I had already heard to confirm what I already knew. He says we are looking for people to arrive in the building so at no point does he guarantee 'at least' 2 signings as the original poster said. Saint Fan CaM Posted 19 January, 2011 Share Posted 19 January, 2011 There'll be plenty of transfers. Players like Austin will move this window, not necessarily to us, but deals will happen. They always take ages, clubs hold out while they can but usually can't keep an unhappy player with them for 5 months, can't risk them dropping in value, or need the money right away. I'm still hoping we sign Guly. A very significant point indeed. I think some are forgetting that him staying is not a certainty by any stretch until we hear otherwise from the OS. Got released by Sheffield Wednesday and is not even considered at QPR. Having seen him play, he is useless, lazy, doesn't even know how to use his weight. When at Sheffield Wednesday he would regularly go out and get ****ed up before a game on the Saturday (probably why he was released). He is also thick as pig sh*t, even breaking his toe kicking an advertising hoarding in the last game of the season against Crystal Palace last year. 100% NO! I suggested Clarke a while back as a possible loan signing. At his best he was unplayable for Wedneasday, but I'm not sure how often that was. Not getting in the QPR side doesn;t mean you are a terrible player mind.

St.Patrik Posted 20 January, 2011 Share Posted 20 January, 2011 If you look at SKY´s transfer clockwatch it´s been a rather busy day with transfers today. Perhaps after a slow start things will start to move now. I do belive we will see 2 players in and 1 out for Saints. And some youngsters going out on loan as well. And the one pleaving is Puncheon....

No thanks, like a fat slower Lambert. you may be right, but I just can't get this game in 2009 out of my head whenever I hear his name mentioned. Burnley had been beaten only once in the previous 9 and were only beaten once in the next 14 champsionship/playoff games after it - so were no mugs! 2mins 4mins 4.30mins although it is worth watching the whole thing. We were told a couple of weeks ago that the only issue was his family's (wife?) residency but the club didn't see it was going to be an issue, so they obviously sorted the paperwork. revolution saint Posted 20 January, 2011 Share Posted 20 January, 2011 He's been mentioned before and probably already out of our grasp but Dale Jennings would be a superb signing and just what we need. Good pace, an eye for goal, two footed and the right age as well. He wouldn't just be cover either and would fit the template of the kind of team we're trying to create. Probably just a pipe dream - I'm sure there are higher placed teams than us in for him but if Adkins can use his Tranmere connections then he would be a hell of a signing. Everybody was touting Lambo as he was one of the few names in L1 that anybody knew-doesn't mean he was ITK. Says more about our insularity and lack of knowledge outside the top leagues. Since then he's not even been faintly close even when assuring us that deals were imminent. A deal falls through- the great, face-saving unverifiable. Apart from Leftback, the rest is educated guesswork and birthday wishlists. Edited 21 January, 2011 by shurlock

for_heaven's_Saint Posted 21 January, 2011 Share Posted 21 January, 2011 Huddersfield selling us Pilkington is effectively them hanging over their chance of a promotion place. That has to add some serious money to the price. Wouldn't be surprised if they were holding out for £3m+. Indeed, and there's no way we're going to pay over a million for anyone unless they're a 'first name on the teamsheet' type player like Fonte or Lambert. Is it the right wing Pilkington plays on?
