acersaint Posted 16 December, 2010 Posted 16 December, 2010 Cracking start. Soton boy does well. I love us stuffing the Aussies. Revenge is sweet.
NY Saint Posted 16 December, 2010 Posted 16 December, 2010 Just watched the highlights - fantastic stuff, hope the girlfriend isn't throwing up tonight so I can actually watch it live via a dodgy internet connection. What has crawled up Mitchell Johnson's posterior? He seemed proper upset with Cookie.
SO16_Saint Posted 16 December, 2010 Posted 16 December, 2010 Off to bed now for 4 hours then another 20 hour stint!!
saintupnorth Posted 16 December, 2010 Posted 16 December, 2010 I was starting to feel sorry for the Aussies but then, watching the highlights they showed images of previous series I thought f**k them, they have given us so much sh*t and abuse of the years it is payback time!! A decent day with the bat tomorrow (and hopefully the next day) and we will be in complete control
Jimmy_D Posted 17 December, 2010 Author Posted 17 December, 2010 Looking forward to this now In the meantime: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2245562,00.html cool ^^
SO16_Saint Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 Bloody viewing card is shot. Keep getting an error message. Grr
Hatch Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 bloody woke up at wrong time. seen 2 wickets in already
OttawaSaint Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 fuksake, michell johnson is cleaning up...GAME ON!!
Jimmy_D Posted 17 December, 2010 Author Posted 17 December, 2010 Think this is down more to good bowling than poor batting... At least they're making a game of it now though.
Jimmy_D Posted 17 December, 2010 Author Posted 17 December, 2010 Time for our bowlers to step up now. They didn't play as well as they could in the first innings, they need to be right on top of their game to give us a chance here.
keithd Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 Nice of the convicts to turn up! Game on.... up against it, lets see how we can battle
Jimmy_D Posted 17 December, 2010 Author Posted 17 December, 2010 Good start for us... halfway through the Aussie batsmen already! Ridiculous considering there's still a fair bit of day two and this is the Aussie 2nd innings... Can't see this one ending in a draw.
jawillwill Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 Good start for us... halfway through the Aussie batsmen already! Ridiculous considering there's still a fair bit of day two and this is the Aussie 2nd innings... Can't see this one ending in a draw. Can't see England winning it anymore either...
Sour Mash Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 Can't see England winning it anymore either... Agree. Going to have at least 300 to chase in a 4th innings of a test match against a bowling attack that has found a bit of form, can only see one result in this now. Will keep the series interesting at least!
badgerx16 Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 LOL at the bookie who's already paid up on England retaining the Ashes.
keithd Posted 17 December, 2010 Posted 17 December, 2010 LOL at the bookie who's already paid up on England retaining the Ashes. still think we will, but not after this text
Jimmy_D Posted 18 December, 2010 Author Posted 18 December, 2010 Have a little faith. Before Johnson found form we were knocking silly runs, and his form is inconsistent to say the least... With so much time left it'll be playing on the Aussie's minds that we might be capable of chasing down a huge total.
OttawaSaint Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 Not much swing this morning, was expecting 2 or 3 quick wickets, looks like this one is going to Aus, 1-1, 2 to play, GAME ON!!
Jimmy_D Posted 18 December, 2010 Author Posted 18 December, 2010 Breakthrough! Now if we can get one or two more to follow...
SO16_Saint Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 We can chase down 400 I reckon. Bring it on!
badgerx16 Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 2 years ago South Africa successfully chased 414 on this ground.
St Chalet Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 I watched the Saffers chase down that score. In the end they did it with wickets to spare. With Cook out we need one of Trott or Strauss to get a big ton.
St Chalet Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 Strauss gone 37-2. Money on the Convicts now
SO16_Saint Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 Just lost Sky due to snow ! Sky player. Lost my sky yesterday due to our box burning the card!
John Boy Saint Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 Just lost Sky due to snow ! Get a long stick with a couple of bags tied to the end a brush it off!! ;-)
manji Posted 18 December, 2010 Posted 18 December, 2010 Get a long stick with a couple of bags tied to the end a brush it off!! ;-) Ours it not too high off the ground so tried it and it worked. Not sure I should have after that horror show.
OttawaSaint Posted 19 December, 2010 Posted 19 December, 2010 any hope of some staunch resistance and a heroic win is pretty much dead now, Anderson and Bell are both out, I doubt the last 4 will get 20 between them...
OttawaSaint Posted 19 December, 2010 Posted 19 December, 2010 they managed a mere 12 more runs...looks like Aus won't be a pushover...
Hatch Posted 19 December, 2010 Posted 19 December, 2010 right then... Game on! bring on the 4th test. Ponting has broken finger as well.
Dr Who? Posted 19 December, 2010 Posted 19 December, 2010 That is more like the England I know. I was getting worried. We really did big ourselves up, and do not knock the Australians!! Come on England we only need not lose any of the last two!
Dellman Posted 19 December, 2010 Posted 19 December, 2010 Anyone note the steep decline began when WAGS and kids arrived for Cmas hols with Daddy, why didn't they come after the Test -if at all?
Window Cleaner Posted 20 December, 2010 Posted 20 December, 2010 Anyone note the steep decline began when WAGS and kids arrived for Cmas hols with Daddy, why didn't they come after the Test -if at all? Ahhh it's this new fangled family values thingy. My Mum was a school friend of Peter Sainsbury, he used to call on us sometimes. When he went out to play in S.Africa for the winter Mrs Pete stayed at home in Bitterne Park. Now the lads are all rushing home for births and birthdays and what have you, family values yes, professional values ...not so much.Noticed it's everywhere now, Clermont Rugby went into last Saturday's match with a weakened side because of a childbirth at home,Torres got time off for the same. It's just not right for the amount of money these sportspeople get.
