Why do i have a bank remittance?

Quite simply some money has been put into my account, from a source who I assume is the council for where I live, stating that is a "bank remittance"! I have absolutley no idea why I have been given this money at all!

 

Please help!

It was put there illegally. If you continue to hold onto it you could be liable for prosecution. If you PM me I'll give you the details of where to send it to escape justice.

Possibly a bank error. Let the bank know as the sender will probably try to get it back. Just to let you know they can also demand interest from you (i.e what you earned on that money whilst it was in your account)

Have you asked the bank? That would be the first place to go.
