Gemmel Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/9261212.stm Pardew would be a good replacement
RedArmy Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 What more could he have done? They're 11th with a very average squad. Hope they get relegated now tbh.
SuperMikey Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 Obviously feel sorry for the bloke, he's done a very good job with them considering his lack of experience but this was always coming. The owners want to be in the Champions League, i'm not sure Hughton could get them there. WGS anyone?
DS Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 The owners are absolutely mental and want to be in the Champions League, i'm not sure anyone could get them there with that squad. There, fixed it for you. Sacking your manager when 11th in the premier league in your first season back up is up there with Napoleon's invasion of Russia in the daft ideas league.
Window Cleaner Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 There, fixed it for you. Sacking your manager when 11th in the premier league in your first season back up is up there with Napoleon's invasion of Russia in the daft ideas league. perhaps they want to sign up Rijkaard before Liverpool do.
Colinjb Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 Typical Newcastle stupidity. At least the usually deluded fans up there are actually being sensible for once and disliking the decision.
RedArmy Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 Pardew bookies favourite. He'd have a field day with Carroll....HOOOOOOOOF.
saint_bert Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 Mental. Is it any wonder people are getting fed up with football. More experienced manager is needed?!?! How many other experienced managers have won at the Emirates? Good luck Chris. Im sure the WHU job will be available soon.
Scudamore Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 They should get Keegan in...he'll do a cracking job *parp* As someone else has said hope they get relegated now...
Thedelldays Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 the idiots the newcastle fans are..they will demand alan shearer and will be happy with him
Thedelldays Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 why do people stand outside stadiums when news like this is broken...what do they expect to happen..?
Turkish Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 why do people stand outside stadiums when news like this is broken...what do they expect to happen..? to get on telly and prove what superfans they are.
Baj Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 http://www.theonion.com/articles/fans-admit-they-have-no-clue-why-they-want-former,18501/
Hatch Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 They will go for Guardiola. They will get O'leary.
sambosa75 Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 Not exactly the fans fault. IN my opinion this could actually indirectly work to Saints' benefit. Lee Clark is Newcastle-daft and him moving there would harm Huddersfield promotion challenge in my opinion.
Super_Uwe Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 Not even a massive surprise for me, there have been rumours flying about for months now about his position at Newcastle. On the face of it a deranged decision, but it would come as little surprise if there were indeed other things going on behind the scene. Seems to be the in-thing now of course. When you look at what position Newcastle were in when he took over, being 11th back in the Premier League is a magnificent achievement. Yeah, it's maybe not all that exciting, but surely the whole point of this season (as is the case for every promoted club) is to consolidate? Glad I'm not a football manager!
JackFrost Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 the idiots the newcastle fans are..they will demand alan shearer and will be happy with him or Keegan. The season they went down they had both of these "messiahs" in the same season
saintupnorth Posted 8 December, 2010 Posted 8 December, 2010 To be fair to the newcastle fans they knew Hughton was the best man for the job and are just as mystified with his sacking as the rest of us. To replace him with Pardew just doesn't make sense.
stevegrant Posted 8 December, 2010 Posted 8 December, 2010 To be fair to the newcastle fans they knew Hughton was the best man for the job They were up in arms when he was first appointed, "this job's too big for a rookie", etc.
saint_stevo Posted 9 December, 2010 Posted 9 December, 2010 http://newsthump.com/2010/12/08/pardew-has-the-experience-of-being-sacked-that-were-looking-for-insists-mike-ashley/
sambosa75 Posted 9 December, 2010 Posted 9 December, 2010 They were up in arms when he was first appointed, "this job's too big for a rookie", etc. And us Southampton fans took the news of Stuart Gray and Steve Wigley managing us so graciously didnt we? The difference being Hughton got on with the job, gained player loyalty and got results which earned the respect of the Newcastle fans. I dare say had Wigley or Gray done the same we would have got behind them as well.
Micky Posted 9 December, 2010 Posted 9 December, 2010 Some fool skate trying to wind them up as well, getting a good slagging off though: http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=386&fid=185&sty=2&act=1&mid=2119242043
