conaero Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 Its just struck me that I still do not know what the actual cause of death of our hero ML was? I remembers seeing him at Wembley and thought to myself that he did look very yellow, which is usually down to renal failure. I had a search round on t'internet, nothing, can anyone shed any light on it?
Colinjb Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 Incidental comments seem to indicate cancer to me. In particular the 'watch' annecdote which stated he was in a large ammount of pain when he went to retrieve NC's watch. I wouldn't expect the family want this exact information to be made public though.
Gemmel Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 I don't know whether this is a "Swiss" thing, but no cause of death has ever been given. The statement on the MALI site noted death after a short illness, but that's it. He did appear a little yellow (Which I thought was to do with the Liver)
petts Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 Not sure what he sadly died of, but looking yellow (Jaundice) is usually a sign of liver probs.
dune Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 He looked jaundiced so i'd say cancer, maybe liver cancer. From detection to death can be a matter of 8-12 weeks.
conaero Posted 6 December, 2010 Author Posted 6 December, 2010 So its not just me then, it is indeed not public knowledge. Shame, I hope I have not started a distasteful thread, causing wild assumptions, that would be the last thing I would want to the to the big man.

Although no doubt there are a few professional offendees out there who will take offence. As someone else has mooted, there must be different laws in Switzerland as this sort of info is public domain in the UK (i.e. anyone can request anyone's birth/death/marriage certificate within reason)

Baj Posted 6 December, 2010 Posted 6 December, 2010 Out of respect for his family who clearly (whether directly or indirectly) wanted his cause of death to remain private, I am locking this thread.
