how to kill a laptop

ok, its time to send my 2005 dell inspiron 2200 to the great computer store in the sky. been putting it off for about a year because its a monumental pain in the arse reinstalling everything on a new one, but that time has come

 

whats the best way of properly killing a laptop, so that all my data is never accesible. ive heard things like burning the hard drive, drilling a hole through it etc. (thats assuming i know where the hard drive actually is )

just take the hard drive out and unscrew everything you can - take out the actual platters and use it/then as a coaster

nothing wrong with it at all really, just getting a bit too slow now, and no battery life. and the screen size doesnt really work for a lot of sites these days, but its been running like a trojan for years

blimey, diodnt think it would be worth anywhere near that LOL!

 

tbh tho, im a bit wary of selling it that way, its got my entire business and personal life on it for the last 5 years

sell it without a HDD, or buy another for £20 on e-bay and put that in it!

 

then smash up the current one with a hammer, and leave it in a bucket of water in the garden shed for a while.....should do the trick
