Thinking about this and I am assuming that you are about mid 20's, educated to secondary modern level.

Therefore a £6 rise is about 3% for you, which is about 3% more than I got last year, this year and am likely to get next year too.

You should be grateful imo.

I got a 2.6% pay rise recently. Happy to get any sort of payrise in this climate but if I had been at equivalent level a couple of years ago I would've been looking at about 10% so a tad annoying overall.

I got a 33.3 % payrise basic, before bonus and overtime.

Thats what hard work gets you folks ;)

Mehbe, although if you have such a thing as "overtime" you are probably still on peanuts ;)

By overtime i mean standby TBH. We aren't allowed overtime unless in extreme cases, and TBF i think your right i don't think i am not actually allowed to claim 'overtime' as i just get told 'its part of the job'

I spent 2 years on reletive crappy money really. Then got a half decent rise and then the big one. Thats what technical apprenticeships get you, can't say enough good about them, sod running up a debt for a degree ;)

Plenty of chance for promotion, especially for a gobby teenager. Fell on my feet really, thats what a night of drunkenly applying for every job on the internet gets you
