TijuanaTim Posted 2 December, 2010 Posted 2 December, 2010 If it was awarded to England....? I remember there were problems at the time 'coz we wuz broke FFS!!
krissyboy31 Posted 2 December, 2010 Posted 2 December, 2010 The Leibherr/Cortese 60,000 seater mega-dome will be part of the 2030 bid.
Window Cleaner Posted 2 December, 2010 Posted 2 December, 2010 The Leibherr/Cortese 60,000 seater mega-dome will be part of the 2030 bid. by 2030 it will be Germany's turn again, unless of course they get 2026
TijuanaTim Posted 2 December, 2010 Author Posted 2 December, 2010 FAF - maybe, if not Aus/NZ or Antarctica...as they're the only two regions not to have had it.
sandwichsaint Posted 2 December, 2010 Posted 2 December, 2010 by 2030 it will be Germany's turn again, unless of course they get 2026 And France and Italy and America again and Africa again and Australasia ... we are more likely to see Saints in the Chamions League than to see a WC in England.
Window Cleaner Posted 2 December, 2010 Posted 2 December, 2010 At least we've got the Rugby World Cup. and the Olympic Games
Matthew Le God Posted 2 December, 2010 Posted 2 December, 2010 and the Olympic Games He means the 2015 Rugby World Cup is at St Mary's. The Olympics isn't at St Mary's.

RedArmy Posted 2 December, 2010 Posted 2 December, 2010 What for? Southampton isn't a Rugby city.Just like Qatar isn't a football country. Money talks.
Window Cleaner Posted 2 December, 2010 Posted 2 December, 2010 Just like Qatar isn't a football country. Money talks. What's going to happen to our home fixtures then, the pitch will be a real mess
Matthew Le God Posted 2 December, 2010 Posted 2 December, 2010 (edited) What for? Southampton isn't a Rugby city. Same reason Plymouth were in the 2018 bid, geographical spread around the country and the club/city applied. Very few large stadiums in the south of England and their isn't enough money in Rugby in order to improve existing stadiums or build new stadiums for the Rugby World Cup like with Football. So St Mary's was the best option for a southern stadium. Edited 2 December, 2010 by Matthew Le God
martel Posted 2 December, 2010 Posted 2 December, 2010 Just like Qatar isn't a football country. Money talks. Their claim for zero carbon emmisions is a joke as well, they might be able to power the stadiums with a zero carbon foot print, but how are they going to get the raw materials, build them, dismantle them and subsequently ship them to other countries, by my reckoning their carbom emmisions will go through the roof of all the stadiums they build; yet more B.S. yet FIFA believe it, what a laugh.

Of course, we don't believe that money had anything to do with it, do we? We can expect the "Panorama" allegations to be firmly refuted, for sure. Did the Brummie performance after the Carling Cup really reduce our vote to TWO?
SaintJackoInHurworth Posted 2 December, 2010 Posted 2 December, 2010 The thing is though, the whole bid has been a farce right from the beginning when they didn't allow Saints to apply to be a host because we were in administration. Yet, now that the bidding process has come to a conclusion we find Plymouth as the club who are in danger of going into administration! Surely, they should have allowed Saints to apply but had a reserve option should they fail to exit admin? Just think what the committee must have thought when they were taken to Plymouth! It's like they say 'First impressions last' and that would not have been a good part of their first impressions. I couldn't believe last night though when they were saying that they were hopeful England would get through with votes from four nations including France!! I mean, when have the French ever stuck up for the English in anything?!! lol
supersonic Posted 3 December, 2010 Posted 3 December, 2010 2018 Bid. Russia offered FIFA 10% of all all gas and oil profit. 2012 Bid. Qatar offered FIFA 20% of all its gas and oil profit. What did England offer? Double nectar points when you spend over £20 in Sainsbury's....are you supprised we lost?

If they got FIFA to stage an extra world cup in 2012 I think we would all KNOW there was something fishy going on with the voting.
once_bitterne Posted 3 December, 2010 Posted 3 December, 2010 Just like Qatar isn't a football country. Money talks. The US and Australia aren't football countries either. (the latter does do football but it involves grown men running about a cricket pitch, kicking a rugby ball while wearing their gym shorts from when they were 10)
Window Cleaner Posted 3 December, 2010 Posted 3 December, 2010 If they got FIFA to stage an extra world cup in 2012 I think we would all KNOW there was something fishy going on with the voting. why not, it would replace that totally unmemorable damp squib in South Africa.

martel Posted 3 December, 2010 Posted 3 December, 2010 The time has come to establish a competitor to FIFA, they resent England anyway, so pull all the big European and South Americn football nations together and form another governing body with fair and real representation; give FIFA the finger.
paris Posted 3 December, 2010 Posted 3 December, 2010 If the English are so unhappy why don't they just pull out of the competion ??

Would love that.

Correct. Although it probably has to start with the players. The Premier League has got the money and get together all the key world players. Sign them all up for an exclusive contract for a world championship tournament held in the USA in 2013, England in 2017 and Austrailia in 2021. Said players appear in no other global tournaments. Line up the companies not currently sponsoring the WC - ie if Adidas is the FIFA Offical, go with Nike. Etc. You'll probably need the Murdoch shilling though, so it is a bit of be careful what you wish for. But, for now, let's Kerry Packer it up and f ck you Blatter. Edited 3 December, 2010 by CB Fry
Bensfcno1 Posted 3 December, 2010 Posted 3 December, 2010 Think someone should propose this to the FA! I rkn someone should copy right it to SFC so we get a % of all the profits from the idea and become he richest club in the world!
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 3 December, 2010 Posted 3 December, 2010 i would rather seee saints in champions league , than see a wc in england Definitely. Hell, I'd rather see us in the Championship at this moment in time.

FIFA have said it was out media that did it for us...well now I hope the media live up to their name and go for them
Alan56 Posted 3 December, 2010 Posted 3 December, 2010 Well what a shock England loses another bid where it had to rely on the votes and support of countries around the world. We got two votes!! Once again the nation loses out because to be blunt we are not very well liked. We forever want to trade with Europe but not join the club, we still insist on checking

Alan56 Posted 3 December, 2010 Posted 3 December, 2010 Sorry sent too soon. It is a great shame that we have been deprived of staging an event which undoubtedly would have been done well. However we have to start looking at ourselves rather than constantly blame others for another abstract failure.

Super_Uwe Posted 3 December, 2010 Posted 3 December, 2010 FAF - maybe, if not Aus/NZ or Antarctica...as they're the only two regions not to have had it. Antartica's a great shout for 2030. If nothing else it might bring about goalline technology due to the raging blizzards; the lino's definitely won't be able to see anything otherwise:lol: Oh, and Sepp Blatter will be 94 by then - he'll still be in charge of FIFA I'm sure...
