So, now we're into December it's about time we started talking about the big films that are due to come out next year.

I think the ones i'm most excited about are:

World Invasion: Battle LA

A full-scale alien invasion threatens the world, and a platoon of marines fight against the alien invaders in Los Angeles.

Cowboys and Aliens

As a comment on the YouTube video for this trailer sums it up, "Red Dead Space Redemption: Quantum of Solace". Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig fight aliens in the wild west.

The Green Hornet

Seth Rogen's take on the comic book series. The news that SR was taking the reins on this upset quite a few fanboys, but the trailer looks pretty promising.

Paul

Pegg & Frost team up with a host of US comedy stars including Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig and Seth Rogen (in the aforementioned role of Paul) in a comedy that's sure to be a huge hit, although I wonder if Pegg and Frost will lose some of the 'Britishness' which makes their work so hilarious.

Priest

Been following this project for a while now after reading one of the graphic novels (very good), hopefully it won't disappoint. Gerard Butler was originally slated to play the role of Priest, but he pulled out so Paul Bettany was brought in. People will say "ugh, another vampire film", but this has the potential to be excellent.

True Grit

Technically this comes out in 2010 (Christmas Day in fact), but this will be hyped so much next year that you won't be able to move for a glowing review. 2010 remake of the 1969 film starring John Wayne, I think this has Oscar written all over it!

True Grit and Aliens and Cowboys (bar Daniel Craig) look wicked.

Priest might be ok. Director Scott Stewart's other film with Paul Bettany, Legion, was utter gash however.

How about this one for Xmas though -
