BadgerBadger Posted 29 November, 2010 Share Posted 29 November, 2010 "Subbuteo" name is derived from the neo-Latin scientific name Falco subbuteo (a bird of prey commonly known as the Eurasian hobby), after a trademark was not granted to its creator Peter Adolph (1916–1994) to call the game "Hobby" I know most of you know that but it's my most favourite random factomondo

Johnny Bognor Posted 29 November, 2010 Share Posted 29 November, 2010 Got shedloads stored at my parents - scoreboards, floodlights, terracing, fencing, fans, grandstands, corner kickers, throw in figures, teams, balls, etc etc. You can stick you PS3, Xbox, Nintendo up your arse. Subbuteo is a proper game for youngsters.......shame the little uns aren't interested in proper games any more.

AndyNorthernSaints Posted 30 November, 2010 Share Posted 30 November, 2010 I used to have lots of different Subbuteo games in the 70's including football, cricket, rugby .. they even had fishing, speedway and horse racing if i remmember right. Used to have league and cup competions with mates and probably had about 50 different football teams. These were passed down to my younger brother who broke most of them. Still have a Saints team though.
