With tickets now on sale to ST holders, who has got tickets?

The OS said they were expecting high demand, hence the staggered on sale dates, but haviong not seen a thread on here yet (I may have missed one), I wonder if demand will really be that high.

Got 4 tickets on Thursday, also bought 4 tickets on the bingo coach due to the trains on boxingday. Was allocated on to coach 4 so I assumed they were selling well.

Demand will really not be that high. Trains aren't even running are they?

Agreed, unfortunately. No trains, early kick off on the 26th Dec, expensive tickets, ground most have done a few times before, all told will mean a relatively small turnout for a London game. Still reckon we'll take about 1.5k up, decent.

Gonna go, just haven't worked out how yet. F*ck going on the bingo bus, I'd rather walk. Hopefully get someone to drive up and park at my house, get bus to London Bridge, drink there then get tube to North Greenwich and walk the rest.

Going in a group of 7. Couldn't decide how to get there as a group but the bingo bus was a non starter. So we though we would treat ourselves and go by Limo!! Should be a laugh.

If there had been trains i would have gone. But I'm not going to drive, and neither will any of my fellow gangsters, and i would rather go to the in-laws than go by bingo bus. Cold turkey all round.

its usually a popular game even without public transport.

Walking from North Greenwich Tube Station is probably about the same for away fans walking to SMS from Southampton Central. 1 to 1 1/2 miles...less to the first pub stop.

I have checked with Transport for London and they will only say Christmas engineering works / timetables will be confirmed in mid-December so I would not assume the Jubilee Line is running fully until they confirm.

the other alternatives would involve buses towards Greenwich which will be running, just need to allow more time.

North Greenwich tube to Charlton is 1.9 miles according to AAroutemaster.

Bus route 472 goes from North Greenwich to Charlton, 20 mins bus journey

Not a long walk, along the main road (a102 blackwall tunnel approach) then woolwich road to charlton.

I'm not sure I understand the anti-bingo bus feeling. Surely it's just a means of transport to a game? Does transport to a game have to involve getting drunk, lots of shouting, intimidation of the general public and a cheeky punch up if you're lucky just to complete the experience?

No not at all, but the fact is most people like a decent drink before the game, and the bingo bus gets you to the stadium usually about an hour before kick off, which leaves you hanging around doing nothing for ages. Nothing to do with violence or disorder, just for some people the matchday experience is more than just going to the game and going home.

Doesn't the hour still give you an hour to have a drink? It's not loads of time I know, but you can definitely squeeze a couple of pints in without trying too hard! Returning right after the final whistle might be more of a frustration. You're right that it might not be enough time for everyone, but I can see it being a decent option on Boxing Day.

And is the football that unbearable that you can't face it without taking on a skinful beforehand.Unbelievable some of you.

A re-branding of the 'Travel Club' is way over-due. It's always had the 'Bingo Bus' image, the kind of thing you'd expect to see going from the Darby-and-Joan on a day trip to Eastbourne.

The powers that be at the club would do well to re-invent it, I'm sure someone could come up with a more imaginative and inspiring name for starters. Ditching the old image may encourage more to use it - only in emergency situations of course!

What you need is what a lot of other clubs have and have people running independent coaches mini buses etc, especially from places like Salisbury, Newbury etc. Just guess it's too much hassle for people though.

What you need is the good old days, the first things that went on the bus were the crates of beer,on the way home when the driver braked all the bottles on the floor rolled to the front and when the bus went uphill all the bottles rolled to the back again.Empty bottles that is.

Just got my ticket through the post. Going by bingo bus, prefer to go up by train to London away games, but at least I'll be there.

Pick up three tickets for this before kick off yesterday. Lucky I bought them before the game, otherwise I might have changed my mind about going.

Any ideas about how many tickets we have sold. Are we still on the 1st allocation of 1500?

Fair few people mentioned to me yesterday that we'd already sold the first allocation and we're up to something like 1.5k, quite impressive if true.

all over sky news...Tube strike announced for 26th December.....great ! Who the hell strikes in this financial cliimate? Sack 'em !

It is laughable, they want TRIPLE pay and a day off in lieu for working, and will probably get that as well on the following bank holidays, an absolute joke, there are loads of people who would love to work for London Underground which pays very well for not particularly highly skilled jobs.

Anyway, hopefully even if this does go ahead a service will still operate that will allow those of us in London to get to Bank and then the DLR from there.

Impressed we have sold over 1600 already, would be great to take 2500 which is decent based on a 1pm kick off and no trains up from southampton

I refuse to get the Bingo buses anymore, not for any of the reasons above but purely for the lack of atmosphere. I went to the Cup Semi Final at Villa Park in 2003 on the Bingo bus and when we got back on there was no singing or cheering whatsoever. Most boring form of transport ever, but I never go to games to intimidate the general public or get into a "cheeky punch up".

I think the game will be on for Sunday http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/8? hopefully the snow will clear up to assist those having to drive to the match.

Does anyone know what is the latest on ticket sales? When I spoke to the ticket office last Thursday they seemed to think quite a few from the 2nd batch of tickets had been sold.
