Brilliant! The 4-0 over Spurs is still probably the best I've seen us as a team.

BTW, who thinks it would be a great idea to have a sticky on this forum with all the Saints videos on YouTube?

I would never have thought to have a look for these.

Anyone know what was written on Tessem and Beattie's shirts after Tessem scored against Spuds? .

"In a few years time you will be able to watch highlights of this match on something called You Tube."

Niemi was the best keeper in the country that season without a doubt.

Thanks for posting.

This. My favourite ever Saints keeper. Followed by Budgie and Shilts.

a lot of people talk about that Spurs 4-0 win and we were excellent, totally dominated from the kick off, but Spurs were just a mid table side then, if it hadn't been Spurs and the whole revenge over Hoddle thing, i dont think we'd remember it as fondly. For me the Arsenal performance was better, Arsenal were champions and the best team in England if not Europe at the time, with great players like Henry, Pires, Viera and Bergkamp in their prime and we were the better side that day, fully deserved our win and if anything 3-2 flattered Arsenal. Either way though, two great wins and a great season for Saints fans.

Delgado fell at ball chested it over the line then did not know where it had gone. ;-) That goal was worth over 3 million for the comic value! Good days that are hopefully not too far off again.

From the spurs FA cup game, love seeing the defending and players putting their bodies on the line. Firstly Niemi makes a class save, then Bridgey blocks on the line then 3 players charge the spurs shot down.

It was me that put them videos up on YouTube. I was making good progress till my disc drive went tits up on my laptop! It's fixed tho so I shall continue to crack on with them when I get a chance.

Not seen that in a while and I was surprised that they never put them up on SaintsPlayer/SaintsTV.

anyone remember this? Brilliant night, was only 15 and in the early days of sky, we didn't have it so watched at my mates house with a few cheeky tins with his parents not about, jumped around like Loons when we got the goals and the pen at the end. Some of the defending was shocking, thank f**k no TSW in those days or you'd have wanted Kenna out of the side asap, what was he doing for the equiliser?!

Niemi was absolutely phenomenal when he was with us, I still maintain that he was one of the best keepers in Europe.

World.

He couldn't really have been any better. He was world class for a couple of seasons, no doubt about that. Probably the best player we've had since we finished second in the old first division.

Better than Le Tiss?

I'd say not better than Le Tiss, but bloody close. Definitely one of our best ever IMO.

certainly our best goalkeeper since Shilts and one of our best ever.

Better than Le Tiss?

Probably, in comparison to the world game.

But... LeTiss was here for longer and did some purely individual and unforgettable things so he is certainly more of a Saints legend.

4-0 vs Spurs was a great day. I was in the Northam and had £5 on Killer to score 1st at 50/1. Good times. Remember getting pretty drunk and heading to a curry house whilst abusing my Yid cousin via txt.
