MINIBARCELONASAINT Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 As the title says........ Winnable
MongoNeil Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 Winnable but no shame in losing to a prem club. Ideal draw in my opinion.
The Majestic Channon Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 No pressure on saints , we should be able to give them a good game and if we lose.. never mind
Thedelldays Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 they will probably make wholesale changes....play good football too.. probably wont be on telly mind...
swannymere Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 I think it will be a hard game to win, Blackpool have played some very good football this season and i think we'll be lucky to get a reply let alone an outright win.
Saints foreva Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 Doubt the attendance will be anything more than 15,000. Such a boring tie.
Chez Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 brilliant, love the cup, love the draw, great chance of "giant killing".
Thedelldays Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 man u v liverpool leicester v citeh millwall v brum stevenage v newcastle will be on telly IMO
Saint_Jonny Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 (edited) Happy with that! Will still be back from uni for Christmas on 3rd round weekend so I can go to this. Good draw, no pressure on us. We are a bigger club than Blackpool, no matter what their league position, Ian Holloway, you C*** Edited 28 November, 2010 by Saint_Jonny
GenevaSaint Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 would've preferred an away game, always a great occassion in the 3rd round.
dickyhale Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 okay maybe make a few on here make there annual visit too St Marys here the address if you cannot find it The St. Mary's Stadium, Britannia Road, Southampton, Hants. SO14 5FP
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 Yawn. I for one, will not be going. This. You watch the SFC marketing machine go into over drive though: "PREMIER LEAGUE OPPOSITION!" **** off; we'll be lucky to get 10k
Hopkins Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 man u v liverpool leicester v citeh millwall v brum stevenage v newcastle will be on telly IMO Arsenal V Leeds will be all over the telly.
dune Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 brilliant, love the cup, love the draw, great chance of "giant killing". Beating Blackpool is hardly anything to brag about. The fact that they're better than us just makes me cringe.
Asaint4ever Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 man u v liverpool leicester v citeh millwall v brum stevenage v newcastle will be on telly IMO Ain't you missing another? Arsenal. Leeds???
Johnny Shearer Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 Dull dull dull Doubt the attendance will be anything more than 15,000. Such a boring tie. Yawn. I for one, will not be going. Blackpool play attacking football, so do Saints. I see plenty of goals in the tie.........................cue a 0-0 draw then!
Saint Fan CaM Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 (edited) Can't believe how negative some people on here are. We've drawn a Prem team that are playing well and we're at home. They will bring a large crowd. If we strengthen and play to the best of the team ability we shall see a good game of football. It will be quite some feat to beat them, but a loss will be no hardship, so it's a great draw - bring it on. Edited 28 November, 2010 by Saint Fan CaM
SparkySaint Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 it will be a cracking tie. They like to play football and always look to score. Could suit us very well
Ewell Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 Terrible draw. If you get a Prem team you at least want one who will bring more than 1000 fans to at least make it a decent pay day. Nobody is gonna be inspired by this draw. I bet we only get 16k.
Redbul Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 I was hoping for an away tie, but doesn't matter. Ditto above comments, nothing to lose so let's get into 'em.
View From The Top Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 The decision not to bother driving down for it has already been made. Also means Oldham (A) will be a midweek game.
benjii Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 Lol at the dopey numpties complaining about the attendance already and saying it's boring. Will be over 20k easily unless the price is excessive. Really nice draw that.
scotty Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 last time I saw saints/blackpool at st marys we lost one nil and they had 2 or 3 disallowed.
Golden Balls Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 Happy with that draw. Nothing that exciting on paper but can see it being a cracker. Will be nice to welcome back Ormerod, Euell and Crainie. Hopefully the ticket prices remain sensible and don't go too high just 'cos they're a prem club!
sidthesquid Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 We can sing 'They've got Brett Ormerod'
Window Cleaner Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 last time I saw saints/blackpool at st marys we lost one nil and they had 2 or 3 disallowed. and we missed a shedload, Lallana being the main culprit, seems he's moved on a bit since then.
SparkySaint Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 24k+ imo. It'll be a saturday and no one will be shopping anymore. But if you do want to go shopping over watching Saints then you need your head examined. Lets fill the place and get behind the team. We can do this. A Premier League scalp is a Premier league scalp
ronnie radford's boots Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 I can't believe some of the comments on here! Premiership team ( that's them boys, not us in case you've forgotten ! ) Open style of football played by both teams The chance to "welcome back" some old friends - Ormerod, Euell and Crainey A chance of winning and getting another payday / premiership team / Wembley visit I'll for one be going and will be glad that some on here won't !
Thedelldays Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 Boring club. boring game. I will stay down the pub how are they a boring club...they are a great story and play some entertaining football..they score about 2 goals every away game too....

OVER THE HILL Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 Great draw for us, prem team doing well that plays attacking football. Possible ****ehawks V Skates could be fun as well.
Badger Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 How anyone can describe a fixture involving one of Holloway's teams as "dull", or "boring" is beyond me. No doubt he will give a few rentaquotes in the build up to remind us it would be good to beat him and his team.Winnable fixture in my view, providing we up the tempo considerably from yesterday.
dune Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 Despite us getting a boring club with no fans, i wouldn't have been interested if we'd got a decent tie. The league is what matters and i couldn't give a toss about the cup.
Dangerous Albert Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 Boring club. boring game. I will stay down the pub Hope you do. Could be a great game and we need all our supporters and players to be up for it.
scotty Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 and we missed a shedload, Lallana being the main culprit, seems he's moved on a bit since then. was it mcgoldrick that hit the bar in injury time?
Badger Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 Great draw for us, prem team doing well that plays attacking football. Possible ****ehawks V Skates could be fun as well. Bummers v Scummers.
Chez Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 Beating Blackpool is hardly anything to brag about. The fact that they're better than us just makes me cringe. what makes me cringe is the countless fans on here moaning about drawing a home tie in the third round of FA Cup against top flight opposition. OK its no glamour club, but its the FA cup, we are still in it and we can win this game. "Come to watch united, you've only come to watch united" fits many of our fans perfectly.
John Cool Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 I think it's a cracking draw. It'll be a good game with plenty of goals, probably 3-2 one way or the other. No shame if we lose and quite a fillip if we win.
Dangerous Albert Posted 28 November, 2010 Posted 28 November, 2010 what makes me cringe is the countless fans on here moaning about drawing a home tie in the third round of FA Cup against top flight opposition. OK its no glamour club, but its the FA cup, we are still in it and we can win this game. "Come to watch united, you've only come to watch united" fits many of our fans perfectly. Thankfully I fully expect the 90 odd percent of Saints fans who never come anywhere near this forum will turn up in numbers to support their team...
