andysstuff Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 2 points dropped?? Certainly sounded like it on the radio commentry.
trousers Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 0 - 0 ? Who in their right mind would have predicted that?
Red and White Russ Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 It could have been worse. Because of the penalty save it feels like a point gained.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Can't work out whether it's a point won - penalty save from Kelv - or 2 dropped...
Thedelldays Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 meh...should have won...overall not the end of the world.... their lead at the top is still being cut and they never sounded that great..... they are also the best away team in the league... from what it sounds...carry on playing like this and we will be fine....just need to break past 6th..
alpine_saint Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 A wholy inadequate response to last Saturdays result and the significance of tonights game. Our midfield doesnt seem to make things happen when Chaplow is not there and Schneiderlin is playing. I hope we sign Chaplow permanently.
trousers Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Not a disaster. 3 teams around us also drew and one lost. And still same number of points off top spot.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Disappointed we scored nun.
VectisSaint Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 2 points dropped?? Could have been 3 dropped if KD hadn't saved the pen
smithy Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Sounds like we deserved the win, but super Kelvin made sure we didn't throw it all away.

CWD Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Really frustrating. However it could have been worse, 7th and still four off 2nd. All to play for
georgeweahscousin Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Ho hum. 2 points very much dropped, almost all 3 if not for Davis. Sounded to me like Saints players trying to do too much when near the Brighton goal. The Brighton official dvd machine will be whirring into action as we speak!

Only central midfielder we have who goes beyond the front men.
Micky Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Stanley knife anyone - new blade installed, never been used...!
buctootim Posted 23 November, 2010 Author Posted 23 November, 2010 Disappointed we scored nun. 14 shots on target according to BBC, but no goals. Dont often see that. .
alpine_saint Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 All the platitudes in the world expressed on post-match reaction threads cannot hide the fact that we are wholy incapable of beating the teams around us. We've only beaten Oldham and Bmth of the top 9 or so.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 14 shots on target according to BBC, but no goals. Dont often see that. . True. Be interesting to see if one of NA's loan targets (assuming it's plural!) is a striker. We create so much but score too few.
SaintRobbie Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Well done to KD! I think we're heading for the playoffs unless Adkins gets some cash for reinforcements in December.

alpine_saint Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 I think we're heading for the playoffs unless Adkins gets some cash for reinforcements in December. If we are lucky...

alpine_saint Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 And Sheff Wed. Well spotted. OK, 3 of 9, with Charlton still to play.

gazd83 Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 11 shots on target, 10 off target. The stats show a one sided game, the scoreline doesn't.

alpine_saint Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 We beat Wednesday at Hillsbrough, and have only lost to Carlisle(away) in the top 10. Huddersfield ?

We've only beaten Oldham and Bmth of the top 9 or so. To be fair we beat Sheff Wed, haven't played Charlton and drew with the top team. Only two of the top 10 have beaten us. Things aren't as we expected but it's not time to panic yet
Smirking_Saint Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Well, before hand i would have taken a draw but right now, after listening it is 2 points lost.
georgeweahscousin Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Huddersfield ? Touche. You forgot our wins over Peterborough and Wednesday. What matters is that are results against the top ten are largely positive.
red&white56 Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 And Sheff Wed ? Sorry already spotted but someone else - but I claim timelag as my excuse as I'm in Alpine country (Switzerland)
alpine_saint Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 we beat sheff wed didnt we..? so that is 3...drew against brighton and lost to carlise and huddersfielf. we also thrashed peterborough still yet to play charlton You can say "christ sake" as much as you want, and accuse me of negativity, but to borrow a phrase of your own from the play-off season, we havent been in the top two all season and dont look like breaking into it.
View From The Top Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 We'll still go up, of that I'm sure. I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for icy roads in Austria, poorly serviced breaks, a tired lone male driver and a tragic accident.

jampot Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 A fair result, Saints still have the capacity to get better, Brighton not I feel. Saints will move up a further gear when Lambert regains his scoring form. Add a couple more decent players in Jan, we will be there or there abouts. Just comes down to nerves and which team whats it the most for the run in.....
CWD Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 7 points from November. Considering the games we had it's not disastrous, but not brilliant either. At the start of the month I thought that November could make or break us... as it is neither of those have happened. We are more than capable of of getting maximum points from the next 3 to put us firmly in the race
Micky Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 We need RL to start finding his form, would appear that we are creating but not finishing. When did Rickie last stick a free kick in the bag - seems ages to me. While we are in touch, I would keep him in - if he finds his form we will be well up there come the reckoning.
Colinjb Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 I hate these games. An odd mixture of relief and frustration. We could have won/lost in equal measure.
Liquidshokk Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Well that was probably the most bizarre game I've seen. Appalling refferee, new record for handballs not given, managers at loggerheads, should have been at least 1 up at HT, Brighton shocking first half, sorted it out second. Was scared of giving the game away at 80 mins where we looked tired. Cannot believe Davis saved that penalty.. Fkin blinder... And for that reason it goes down as point gained for me and don't feel two bad about the other two... What an atmosphere tonight. Good stuff.
Jonnyboy Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 14 shots on target according to BBC, but no goals. Dont often see that. . rickies finishing still a big worry
suewhistle Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 0 - 0 ? Who in their right mind would have predicted that? Trousers.. behave!

SNSUN Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Sat in Lime Street car park heating up my hands. Great atmosphere, shocking reffing. Brighton timewasting was unbelievable. Great save by Kelvin for the penalty, so it feels like a point gained. Thought Lambert worked hard, unlucky not to score with a header. Roll on May, we can still win this league, Brighton were average imo.
RedArmy Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Not sure why theirs was a penalty and ours wasn't?
