georgeweahscousin Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 ........linked to Saints by Sky. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_6523521,00.html Decent record at this level.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 He'll go to a CCC club IMO. Would be fantastic signing for us though .
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Would be a fantastic signing - a real signal of intent and definitely someone who can perform at CCC level. Get it done Mr Cortese!
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Can't see it happening, but would be over the moon with that one.
Mr Saints Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Certainly fits the 'good enough to play for us in the Championship' mould.
Micky Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 I think that Hull and NP will be in the box seat for this one, but would be a great aquisition if we could pull it off.
NickG Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Can't see it happening, but would be over the moon with that one. +1.
S-Clarke Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 yes please....he tore this league apart when he was last in it. But surely he'd prefer to go to a promotion chasing CCC team? He can do a job there as he scored over 10 goals for Leicester last year. Still find it odd how he cant get into the team as i think he's a terrific player.
Badger Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Most unlikely given the other clubs in the chase. Adkins might be able to clinch a loan rather than anything permanent as no doubt Mandaric will use all his influence to persuade those at Leicester to do us a favour.
MarkSFC Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 He would be awesome. Better than 1 in 2 record in League 1 (53 in 105). In Championship over last season and this he is scoring just about 1 every 2.5 games. At only 24 on our youngish developing team he could fulfil his potential here better than Hull or almost anywhere. Get him in NA!!
VectisSaint Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Would be good, perhaps he could bring the other Matt with him as well
Badger Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Anyone else remember his glaring miss against us a few seasons ago ?
SuperMikey Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Would be an excellent signing, wouldn't need to worry about goals with Barnard, Lambert and Fryatt!
Saint Fan CaM Posted 24 November, 2010 Posted 24 November, 2010 Now that would be an awesome signing, but with CCC clubs interested, we won't get a look in.
Appy Posted 24 November, 2010 Posted 24 November, 2010 I think being in the league below could work in our favour here, Sven may not want to loan him to another side in the Championship.
MarkSFC Posted 24 November, 2010 Posted 24 November, 2010 Now that would be an awesome signing, but with CCC clubs interested, we won't get a look in. I think you're doing our club and set-up a dis-service there. Unless he goes to a promotion chasing team with a great chance of actually going up, i.e. Cardiff or QPR, I think that coming to us would guarantee our promotion so he would only be sacrificing a few months of NPC footy for a few exciting months of winning and championship winning footy. And once we are up next season with our set-up and financial clout we wil be very well placed to challenge for top two. As for his personal deveopment he clearly isn't ready for the Prem anyway so a season or twoand a half with us will suit him perfectly.
rolosfc Posted 24 November, 2010 Posted 24 November, 2010 Would love to sign him, but with a host of championship clubs after him I'm sure he will go elsewhere.
saint_ben Posted 24 November, 2010 Posted 24 November, 2010 Just had a look on the Leicester Forum to see if they had any inside info. A lot of them agree with Appy, by saying Sven would be mad to loan him out to a fellow Championship team due to DJ Campbell going out last season. Plus they also feel a drop down a division would be great to boost his confidence as his form it said to be very poor at the mo! Would love to see a Friatt/Lambo strike force. Lots of goals...hopefully!

Furthermore - we all forget that both Barnard and Fonte signed for us in the January transfer window when Championship clubs were interested.
david in sweden Posted 24 November, 2010 Posted 24 November, 2010 would be a bloody good signing might sound OK but at 1'78" tall he's hardly a big CF and we already have Connolly and Barnard around that height. He's likely a replacement for when Barney has his hernia op. ..but i'dstill like to sign another big man ..you know -- someone over 6' .. too much to ask?

South Londoner Posted 24 November, 2010 Posted 24 November, 2010 The BBC are reporting that Roman Bednar has signed for Leicester increasing the speculation that Matty Fryatt is on his way out.
Weston Saint Posted 25 November, 2010 Posted 25 November, 2010 Blackstock just been ruled out of football for a year with NF. They will now be favoutites to sign Fryatt on loan
merrimd Posted 25 November, 2010 Posted 25 November, 2010 Blackstock just been ruled out of football for a year with NF. They will now be favoutites to sign Fryatt on loan Tudgay from Wednesday possibly going there.

Blimey, at one foot seventy-eight inches he makes Peter Crouch look like one of Santa's elves.

Mowgli Posted 26 November, 2010 Posted 26 November, 2010 Someone blogged the Echo site claiming he had turned down a loan to Southampton preferring to stay and fight for his place but if he did not get enough games between now and January, a move here could still be on the cards.

If we are in a really strong position in January, we will need to sign players who can potentially get us out of the Championship. A striker who can't get a game at Leicester probably won't be the answer. If he's turned us down, I wouldn't go back for him.
