Ah, I see the charm offensive is going well since your near-miss.

Not sure why you find it offensive that I prefer Djokovic but think it says more about you than me. Great man, great personality and fiercely proud of his country (players who shirk davis cup take note.) A fully deserved victory.

Yep, that was my point.

That wasn't sarcasm. If I'd have said, "That's a shame, I wish you had more to say on the matter as your posts are fantastically interesting and everybody on the internet really looks forward to them", that would have been sarcasm.

Well, i see that Murray bottled it again big time, although i did say to the lads down the pub that i couldn't see him beating Djokovic in his form ATM.

Murray really needs to win something soon or else he is going to get his own confidence and mental problems blocking him from actually going all the way. Unfortunately, for all Murrays promise he looks as though he may become another nearly man.

Its a toughie i suppose seeing as he is fighting in a time that has stars such as Nadal and Federer but that will never ever wash as an excuse in the long term.

Such a shame and no-one will be more disappointed than Andy. I just don't get it, he plays the likes of Djokovic, Nadal and Federer all year in other tournaments, but at the Grand Slams when he gets to the final he just doesn't play to the best of his ability.

Murray can play SO much better than he did today. I'm disappointed :( He is still young though, and I think that one day soon he WILL win a slam, he has the ability, unlike say Henman.

I cannot see Murray winning a slam... ever. Just listen to the interview he gave to 5live afterwards and the last sentance (not exactly word for word) but 'i'll keep trying for a slam but if I don't win one then it doesn't matter'. Sums up everything about him, doesn't want it enough so will never have the drive to win one.

by suggesting that he is happy solely on wealth..or at least that is such a big substitute to success...

Aah I see  I was actually responding to your suggestion that he was a 'failure' by pointing out that he's done very well financially from being a failure.

I don't see that I said he is 'happy solely on wealth' - I just said that he could console his 'failure' with his earnings. I hardly see how that makes me a Tory FFS.

Bit early to write him off aged 23. Agassi lost his first three grand slam finals and Lendl four. Can't compare him to Tiger Tim who never even got to a final in his whole career. Novak just played unbelievable tennis and Murray underperformed in the final. He will have other chances.

Agree with you there, some of the anti Murray haters have missed these facts. As somebody pointed out he will remain scottish until he wins a grand slam then he will suddenly become british, some people are small minded.
