AndyNorthernSaints Posted 24 November, 2010 Share Posted 24 November, 2010 Wrong. It was sh*te and he got beaten badly. Fantastic. Why do you dislike him so much? is it because he's Scottish? is it because he's not nice/smiling character like Tiger Tim? Is it because he was quoted by the media as saying he didn't care about the English football team when he was a teenager? is it because he's one of the best British tennis players ever in the history of the sport? Oh and he's not a great, won nothing that matters in tennis world. I.E. Grand Slam event. I'd say getting to number 3 in the world in a period of Nadal and Federer two of the greatest players of all time means you are a pretty good player. Despite being hated by alot of small minded people who over react to something a teenager said to the media who made it into a big stoy and , i hope he wins a grand slam which i'm pretty sure he will. I'm pretty sure if he does win a grand slam the same people will be referring to him as British rather than Scottish :-(

Hatch Posted 26 January, 2011 Share Posted 26 January, 2011 Murray in semi final of the OZ Grand Slam Where he will play Ferrer, who has just knocked out Nadal. Great chance to progress though to the final and maybe play Federer. And Murray has a great record against Federer.

Saintandy666 Posted 26 January, 2011 Share Posted 26 January, 2011 The whole Scottish/English thing from that interview is STUPID. The interviewer provoked him by mocking him that Scotland didn't make it to the world cup. He says he is Scottish and British. Doesn't really matter to me anyway, I'm both. Saintandy666 Posted 26 January, 2011 Share Posted 26 January, 2011 That isn't the reason I dislike him. You hate because he is Scottish? I don't hate him because he is scottish or has a slightly monotone voice... he is a tennis player, and a very good one and I respect that skill and I enjoy watching it as a spectator. To hate him is silly.

The Cat Posted 27 January, 2011 Share Posted 27 January, 2011 I like Murray. He clearly doesn't hate English people, if he did he wouldn't live here and pay taxes and would probably reside abroad in a tax haven that was also more convenient located for the amount of traveling he has to do. A bit like Lewis Hamilton who naffed off as quickly as he could once he started earning a fat wedge. Yes he can be a bit dull but then he's spent his life playing tennis and training nearly every day from a very young age. I hope he wins this tournament because it will help promote the game further in our country and will hopefully inspire some youngsters to go on and do the same. I also find his game quite interesting to watch, at least he has some nuances to his play that many of the big hitting power players who just wallop every shot towards the corner don't have. His application in variations of spin and angles is quite unique.

Minsk Posted 28 January, 2011 Share Posted 28 January, 2011 He struggled up until the tie-break in the 2nd set, then ripped Ferrer a new one. Ferrer fought back well in the 4th, but Murray won that tie-break easily as well. I would like to him to win the final, but don't think he will. Djokovic looked very good against Federer.
