I don't understand why El Abd is not also suspended.

He was booked on Saturday like Elphick according to :

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/9204050.stm

which takes him to five league bookings like Elphick according to :

http://www.seagulls.co.uk/page/Discipline/0,,10433~201010433,00.html

because he's already done his time for the 5 bookings, way way back at the beginning of October, obviously their principal hatchet man. Saturday's was obviously his 6th booking.

This is the correct answer. He took "one for the team" against Brentford about 6 weeks ago when we lost possession in a dangerous area and he body checked the on rushing striker. Meaning he was out after that 5th booking. We're lucky though, because we have 3 quality centre backs so losing one has rarely costed us.

Will Itchen blocks near the Northam be open tonight?

The only way they'd open Blocks 1 and 2 would be if all other areas were sold out. It's unlikely it would be like the 'good old days' anyway as it wouldn't be the same Block 1/2 mob that used to get in there, just any old latecomers.

So excited about this evening. I'm devastated I can't be there, and even worse I'm stuck in rehearsals until 10 tonight so I'm gonna have to keep sneakily checking my phone for updates!

My prediction is 2-0, Lambert and Connolly

Am knackered after my exploits today ( see golf sections in the papers to see what I was up to!) so no way I will be awake by midnight local time unfortunately.

So It's been a beautiful day, hit around 30C and slightly more haze than usual.

Sorry to miss the match thread tonight. Let's hope we get on the front foot straight away, don't want to be forced into keeping our backs against a wall just because it's Brighton

If only they'd open it up again properly. The best place to be at St Marys ever.

I'm going to be struggling as well... a bottle of Red already downed (shared with Mrs EoA admittedly) but #2 opened ready for Beef Wellington dinner ... The Old Specky's could be a real test to me lasting thru till 2am. My posting could be good though!! I apologise in advance to any body i upset ... unless you deserved it!!

Just had The Saints Are Coming on 6 times, This Perfect Day by The Saints twice and OWTSGMI by Louis Armstrong twice from my Itunes list. We are going to rock tonight.

3-1 to Saints methinks, although we can't be complacent. We're coming into this game off the back of a strong performance against P'boro whereas Brighton have been struggling lately.

Lambert (pen), Lallana and Chamberlain for me.

Prediction: a cagey game that will end up as a draw and if there is a winner I doubt there will be more than a goal in it. Delusional of fans on either side to expect a thrashing.

Or maybe wishful thinking from some of your gheyer fans!!! :scared:

sorry couldn't resist it sweetie ;)

Despite your slump in form, we are under no doubts how important a win is for us, but it isn't going to be easy, and no doubt your players will view this as one of their biggest challenges of the season and would view a draw as a great acheivement.

A good test of our team tonight that will tell me much about our manager and his players. Win and we're on track, lose at home and I can't help but think a dull play-off position may well deflate all of our hopes and dreams.

I love our fans, all talking about this match deciding whether or not we make the top two????? arrogance in the extreme has been our biggest down fall in this league. I would like to point out that there are 4 more teams between us and 1st position. FWIW I think tonight we will lose, but it won't be the end of all hope for me....far from it.

In theory there are 5 because Oldham may or may not be above us when they catch up their postponed match.

Still think we'll win this evening though, 2-1 maybe.

It's not delusional. Optimistic maybe, but delusional gets thrown about too often on here. We're capable of thrashing anyone at home. That doesn't mean we will, we could even lose, but it's far from delusional to imagine. When it really clicks, we're very dangerous, as we've shown quite a few times last season against sides near the top. Personally I think if we do win, it'll be by two or three, because we'll either hit form or won't. If we don't, then it's draw or loss IMO.

I'm sure you'll disagree, but what I'm getting at, is that when we're at top form, our team is far, far beyond yours.

Well said. When we play at our best, we'll turn over any team in this league. It's up to the management and players to make sure we do that.

i know its a long shot but is there any live streams online tonight?

Wasn't there some talk last year that all Brighton's games are streamed so that their owner can watch from where ever he maybe ..... but it's a hush hush sorry I'll have to kill you if i tell you link apparently.

I've been a Saints fan for too long.

Saints having just played their best game of the season and Brighton having a bit of a wobble.....can only mean one thing :(

Nope ... a very nice Bordeaux .... luckily not one of these ..... ;)

Monty Python's Flying Circus -

"Australian Table Wines"

[ from the album Monty Python's Previous Record, 1972 ]

The Players:Eric Idle - Wine Expert; The Scene:Soft introduction music plays .....WINE EXPERT:A lot of people in this country pooh-pooh Australian table wines. This is a pity as many fine Australian wines appeal not only to the Australian palate but also to the cognoscenti of Great Britain.

Black Stump Bordeaux is rightly praised as a peppermint flavoured Burgundy, whilst a good Sydney Syrup can rank with any of the world's best sugary wines.

Château Blue, too, has won many prizes; not least for its taste, and its lingering afterburn.

Old Smokey 1968 has been compared favourably to a Welsh claret, whilst the Australian Wino Society thoroughly recommends a 1970 Coq du Rod Laver, which, believe me, has a kick on it like a mule: eight bottles of this and you're really finished. At the opening of the Sydney Bridge Club, they were fishing them out of the main sewers every half an hour.

Of the sparkling wines, the most famous is Perth Pink. This is a bottle with a message in, and the message is 'beware'. This is not a wine for drinking, this is a wine for laying down and avoiding.

Another good fighting wine is Melbourne Old-and-Yellow, which is particularly heavy and should be used only for hand-to-hand combat.

Quite the reverse is true of Château Chunder, which is an appellation contrôlée, specially grown for those keen on regurgitation; a fine wine which really opens up the sluices at both ends.

Real emetic fans will also go for a Hobart Muddy, and a prize winning Cuivre Reserve Château Bottled Nuit San Wogga Wogga, which has a bouquet like an aborigine's armpit.

Is that the confirmed line up? **** man, no Chaplow, that's worrying.

Might work out in our favour as Morgan maybe more effective against a passing side like Brighton

depends on whether our wide men stay wide or not. I would have liked to see Holmes start today,I thought he looked really handy on Saturday(not that I've seen all of it though)
