Don't and never will agree with the "don't change a winning team" thing. No two games are ever the same and if NA feels a change of personnel or shape is required he should do it. Especially with 2 games in 4 days. Holmes in for AOC for me. If we don't give Holmes a chance now we never will.

 

I have to agree. If you think about it, if we go about doing the same as Saturday, who's to say that Gus hasn't got the boys in and analysed a video of Saturdays game just to stymie our way of playing. Best to keep them guessing, then it puts them on the back foot from the off if we are playing a different game. Don't you agree?

Davis, Richardson, Fonte, Martin, Dickson, Holmes, Hammond, Chaplow, Lallana, Lambert, Connolly.

 

Assuming Jaidi will find 2 in a week too much and with Seabornes alleged injury Martin in

Assuming Chamberlain, who has had a lot of football of late may start from the bench hense a chance for Holmes

Likewise assuming Barnard needs looking after and a bench man with Connolly starting. Would not rule out Barnard being rested completely and Guly from the bench

If anybody needs resting, i would much rather it was done on saturday. League is the be all and end all this season. anything else is a distraction, and 3 points tmw would be huge imho.

Well yeah fair point but NC is the link between the family and the club so using NC as the person backing the club is fair enough I think. It would take a complete mentalist saints supporter to not know its the Liebherr family that have the money.

 

Still think its a bit odd that Adkins has brought this up at a time when the team is starting to deliver on the pitch and money doesnt seem to be a worry.

 

Has the press been asking questions about possible backing in January?

 

The whole interview is on Saints player - he was initially asked about loan signings and backing in Jan - hence his very forthright reply.

Brighton are without 4 players due to suspension tomorrow and also missing Lua Lua due to his injury. They are also hitting a bit of sticky form, drew saturday, needs pens against Woking last week and lost away to Hartlepool, they are there for the taking tomorrow, if we play well we win, its all there for us.

Remember last year - weren't we on a high after a few wins - and looked what happened.

Not that I'm a killjoy, still think we can win but it will be one of our toughest games this season.

Let's just hope their sticky patch is more araldite than low tack masking tape!!

Was booking for a mate, I try to get as many games as I can on my ST number.

And apparently they put me in for a security check because of a number of recent online purchases. We're getting close to christmas, what do they expect?

I think we really need to win tomorrow as I can see 8 of the top 9 winning as they all have home fixtures. Lose it and we may lose a lot of ground not just on the top team but 2nd place could be 7 points off.

 

I have noticed that gaps are begining to appear at the top and one loss makes a massive difference now!

Have you seen the next three games we have coming up after tomorrow ?

A defeat would not be time to slit the wrists just yet.

A victory however could see us making our move for the top two :-)

Big, big, big game tonight. Possibly the biggest of the season. Possibly the game that will indicate our fate this season. Can we mix it with the big boys in this division or not ?

 

Wouldnt it be nice if, just for once, we dont choke a game as important as this ????????

 

it's our away form at the "big" teams that is a major worry ... we just don't seem to approach the game in the right manner and get steam rollered far to easily ... ie Huddersfield, Carlisle and MK Dons who were on a bit of a run at the time we played them.

 

But agree about the choking at "big games" with a large expectant crowd (or god forbid TV Cameras LOL).... happens too often home and away.

 

Staying up to 2 am to listen to this .... please make it worth my while!!

 

Might as well get my stereotypical lock up your sons, fluffy pink pussy cats and any other little rodents you may own .... etc comments in now!!

Really looking forward to this game should be a great game of football both sides want to get it on the deck and pass if our best players perform we should win got a feeling Lambo will score tonight I am going for 2 1 to the mighty Saints.

 

If we win tonight we are right in the mix for automatic promotion would be ace if we could be top two by Jan bolster the squad and push on and have the season that was predicted come on you Saints lets have it

Well this 'part-time' fan ;) is really looking forward to this. Family and work commitments mean this is my first match of the season :( With a big crowd and the prospect of gaining 3 points on the top sport the team should come out all guns blazing. A quick start and an early goal for Lambert would be just the ticket.

 

Will Itchen blocks near the Northam be open tonight?

As impressive as the win was against Posh, I was slightly concerned about Fonte/Jaidi combination. Both lack pace esp Jaidi plus he is 35 yrs old I think so we have to question whether or not he can play 3 games in 10 days. If Seabourne fit go with him if not Martin or even Butterfield @ CB. As long as we get hold of the midfield and not get caught square at the back then I am confident we can win.

To be accurate it's not NC backing him, it's the Liebherr family, and if it's true I am very grateful to them.

 

The Liebherrr ladies are the key. So long as they are motivated to keep attending I feel we are going to be ok. They must be keen on Saints to keep travelling over here week after week.

If you are referring to what people say on North Stand Chat I would ignore them as most of them know nothing...I am an Albion fan and not pessimistic...

Bridcutt is the man we're going to miss the most. The others are decent enough but Elphick is not really first choice (El Abd and Greer are our first choice CBs although not much to choose between all 3), Sparrow is a decent player but a bit of a sicknote and Lua Lua had only been used sparingly away from home before his recent long term injury.

 

Some of our fans are fearing the worse, which seems odd to me. Afterall, if we hadn't conceded in injury time we'd have bounced back to winning ways already and the mood would be very different. Despite this, the fact that this is a local game against a promotion rival whets the appetite, and our tickets sold out 10 days ago.

 

Prediction: a cagey game that will end up as a draw and if there is a winner I doubt there will be more than a goal in it. Delusional of fans on either side to expect a thrashing.

I'm not so sure. Get one goal either way and the game will open right up.
