Thedelldays Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 saints on in a mo...this programme also shows what poor standard the refs are at.... another point...brightons ground cost £93m and will have a capacity of 22.5k....WTF
Thedelldays Posted 21 November, 2010 Author Posted 21 November, 2010 for £93m and 22.5k seats......for a curvy roof.....seems a tad over priced considering SMS was a third of that cost
hamster Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 (edited) will not even sell out the 22.5 once we put them on the downhill road come Tuesday. Loooks nice though if anyone has driven past it recently. There's a webcam online somewhere. Here: http://www.lobstervision.tv/bhafc/# Edited 21 November, 2010 by hamster
Turkish Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 nice ground though, they will fill it. Brighton could potentially be a big club. Similar sized city to Southampton with a huge catchment area. I think they'll get crowds bigger than Pompeys, now that would be funny, the third biggest South coast club.
Thedelldays Posted 21 November, 2010 Author Posted 21 November, 2010 jesus....there have been some shocking reffing in some of the highlights....
Saint_clark Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 for £93m and 22.5k seats......for a curvy roof.....seems a tad over priced considering SMS was a third of that cost Material costs have doubled and even tripled in some cases since we built our stadium.
hypochondriac Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 saints on in a mo...this programme also shows what poor standard the refs are at.... another point...brightons ground cost £93m and will have a capacity of 22.5k....WTF It was because they had to remove all the chalk to fit it in. Their owner paid for it anyway so it doesn't really matter.
Saint_clark Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 Anyway, Chaplows goal looked better than I remembered it. From where I sat it looked like a tap in, but it was actually a bullet. Didn't do Barnards goal justice though.
Smirking_Saint Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 93 Mil !!!! Jesus, i expect thats because they have to order toilet cubicals with gloryholes in them.
hypochondriac Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 Material costs have doubled and even tripled in some cases since we built our stadium. That too.
Stepgar Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 Scroll through to 54 mins 10 sec. Four great goals!! Well done boys.
Tractor_Saint Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 Well taken goal from Chaplow and I didn't realise how good a header Fonte's goal was. Good to wake up of a morning and look forward to watching the replay

georgeweahscousin Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 When it was Millwall's 125th anniversary they were the featured league 1 game, with old footage and the like. We get 20 seconds in the round up and Claridge begrudgingly saying Barnard's goal was a good finish. Disgrace.
Sheaf Saint Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 Interesting watching the piece they did on Brighton's new stadium. It's going to have 10,000 less seats than St Marys but is going to cost 3 times as much!
Saint137 Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 That'll be the dirty great hole they had to dig to get the planning approved. Its going to be a very atmospheric and loud stadium if its ever full.
IFHP Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 Interesting watching the piece they did on Brighton's new stadium. It's going to have 10,000 less seats than St Marys but is going to cost 3 times as much! yes, I wonder what St Marys would cost if we buit it now...
dronskisaint Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 Interesting watching the piece they did on Brighton's new stadium. It's going to have 10,000 less seats than St Marys but is going to cost 3 times as much! But they still won't fill it!
paulwantsapint Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 merrington was saying how good a team goal chaplow scored all we saw on tv was a cross & volley, was in punishment for getting 4 goals?
SNSUN Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 The penalty that won Colchester their game was terrible. We could've used them drawing that too. Big brown envelope for that ref.
Deppo Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 They say that Brightons stadium will cost £93 million and will still only hold 22,500!
ottery st mary Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 (edited) I believe from information received that Brighton will shortly have a new stadium in the hill priced at 93million and only holding 22,500. Wow! Edited 21 November, 2010 by ottery st mary spellin again
aintforever Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 It's supposed to be built to a very high spec, St Mary's is very much a budget job. If they go up they will fill it easy IMO. Plenty of people with money who want to watch young men run around in shorts down there.
qwertySFC Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 I believe from information received that Brighton will shortly have a new stadium in the hill priced at 93million and only holding 22,500. Wow! Works out about just over £4,000 a seat
ludgershallsaint Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 Some rough old pitches on there too. I wonder want Dagenham and Redbridge's will be like by Jan 3rd. It is shocking already.
The Kraken Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 It's supposed to be built to a very high spec, St Mary's is very much a budget job. If they go up they will fill it easy IMO. Plenty of people with money who want to watch young men run around in shorts down there. I'm a bit underwhelmed by Brighton's stadium. It's only a small capacity and it seems the only aesthetic bit of design is the curved roof. Inside there's a lack of symmetry and each end behind the goal is reminiscent of the old Milton Road end. Add in the fact that it's miles out of town and, even at 22k will probably be rarely full, and I think it's have a bit of a lack of atmosphere. As samey and flatpack as our stadium is, I'd much rather have St Mary's than Falmer.
Deppo Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 If they go up they will fill it easy IMO. Plenty of people with money who want to watch young men run around in shorts down there. Yeah, but we'll always have more people who want to watch young men with shorts on running around.
Deppo Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 I'm a bit underwhelmed by Brighton's stadium. It's only a small capacity 22.500 only - at the cost of £93 million or something.
Faz Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 Do we know yet how much Brighton's new stadium will cost, or it's capacity?
Saint_clark Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 Works out about just over £4,000 a seat Apparently every seat in the stadium is going to be cushioned, like the ones in our exec areas.
latter day saint Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 looks like a lot of corporate areas in the stadium? at a cost of £93 million for only 22,500 seats ( £4000 a seat! yes realy!) i suppose the concourse will be of a high standard
Saint_clark Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 Nowhere else to put this, but according to Orient fans the only times Bournemouth fans made any noise was when they were singing anti-Southampton songs.
RedFear Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 im not sure i heard this right. can any here confirm? but im sure i heard them say brightons new ground was going to cost 93M and have 22,500 seats
Thedelldays Posted 21 November, 2010 Author Posted 21 November, 2010 im not sure i heard this right. can any here confirm? but im sure i heard them say brightons new ground was going to cost 93M and have 22,500 seats that is correct... mental if you ask me
merrimd Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 It was because they had to remove all the chalk to fit it in. Their owner paid for it anyway so it doesn't really matter. Its an interest free loan that will need to be repaid. not sure how they are ever going to do that tbh!
amsterdam Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 im not sure i heard this right. can any here confirm? but im sure i heard them say brightons new ground was going to cost 93M and have 22,500 seats You're right; one of the best stadia in the division, no doubt. But I expect they'll build a treatment room soon...
charliegeorgesflymo Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 Nice waking up to a **** then the highlights - a good start to the day
Seaside Saint 2 Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 I'm a bit underwhelmed by Brighton's stadium. As samey and flatpack as our stadium is, I'd much rather have St Mary's than Falmer. I think the lack of symmetry is because they can extend one of the stands in the future. It's only just on the edge of town, surrounded by 2 university campuses as well, which should bring in a couple more punters on top of the hardcore ones. Despite it being further out of town its easier to get to than the Withdean by public transport. Not sure about the atmosphere, I've been to Brighton games home and away with some of my Seagull supporting mates and they're very quiet at home.
captainchris Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 Well taken goal from Chaplow and I didn't realise how good a header Fonte's goal was. Good to wake up of a morning and look forward to watching the replay Just wondering about how easily Fonte was turned and outpaced for their goal...
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 Can't believe it is costing £93m and yet only holds 22.5k!
derry Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 £80m loan to be repaid in 10 years could be even more now.
Thedelldays Posted 21 November, 2010 Author Posted 21 November, 2010 how many of our goals recently have been assisted from wide positions..?
Durleyfos Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 I know someone working on the new Brighton stadium. He told me it will hold 93m and cost £22,5000 to build. Bargain.
sotonjoe Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 The Withdean is an embarassment. Isn't it about time Brighton built a new stadium?
benjii Posted 21 November, 2010 Posted 21 November, 2010 £80m loan to be repaid in 10 years could be even more now. Seriously? That would cripple them unless they got to the Prem, surely, even without interest?
Thedelldays Posted 21 November, 2010 Author Posted 21 November, 2010 Seriously? That would cripple them unless they got to the Prem, surely, even without interest? but it has a snazzy roof
