latter day saint Posted 22 November, 2010 Posted 22 November, 2010 Not enough bouncing up-and-down at football these days... ...that'll keep ya warm. that looked great. cant see many of the boiled sweet munching oldies taking part though
niceandfriendly Posted 22 November, 2010 Posted 22 November, 2010 You bunch of puffs. Why can't you go bare chested, like those proper hard nuts from the Toon? That reminds me. Going all the way up to Newcastle a few years ago, only for the game to be called off 'cause of the snow was not only cold, but bloody, bloody annoying.
rolosfc Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 1 pair Socks 1 pair Ankle Socks 1 pair Boxer Shorts 1 pair Pyjama Bottoms (very warm) 1 pair Jeans 1 T-Shirt 1 Hoodie 1 Saints Shirt (over hoodie) 1 Saints Scarf 1 pair Black Trainers 1 pair Gloves THAT is how you keep warm. Do the trainers have to be black?? Only I am worried as I only own white trainers and do not want to freeze.
Charlie Wayman Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Usual load of BBC forecasting ********. It'll be about the same as today +8C no worries. T-shirts should be OK. See, I may not be much good at forecasting scores but weather (?) now that's different.. Mind you its still friggin parkey out here in the sticks
CanadaSaint Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 What a bunch of wussies. It's -27 celsius outside my door this morning. And I'm just about to go out for a jog. One, only one, of these statements is a lie.

Atmosphere and football at SMS should keep me warm. If not I will ask Dave for a cuddle

Atmosphere and football at SMS should keep me warm. If not I will ask Dave for a cuddle Thanks, Ron. Even though he's a great guy, I think I'd rather jog than cuddle Dave. I have a feeling that the team will keep us all feeling nice and warm tonight. (Looks for fingers-crossed emoticon.) Indeed, we are not a load of wusses. How was your run? Well spotted, Colin. The stairs between me and my cup of coffee were the toughest part. I have more intention of becoming the next pope than I do of going outside today. I'm sitting here, getting my breath back, anxiously awaiting kick off. Hopefully SaintsPlayer/Solent won't tune us into Macclesfield v Cheltenham.
franny Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 that looked great. cant see many of the boiled sweet munching oldies taking part though Cheeky blighter, dodgy knees these days so we need to sit still with the blankets over them and the flask of bovril!! We did our share in the 60's & 70's when we watched on terraces and the crowd was constantly moving and swaying, many a match when "Knees up Mother Brown" was sung with all the crowd joining in the movements. You kids don't know the half of it!
Window Cleaner Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 And ladies stockings - that's what the Brighton fans will be wearing under theirs. With suspenders ???
SuperMikey Posted 23 November, 2010 Posted 23 November, 2010 Do the trainers have to be black?? Only I am worried as I only own white trainers and do not want to freeze. Yes, black absorbs heat.

One, only one, of these statements is a lie. I went out for a run this afty 0°c and a bit of sleet, mind you it is over 600 metres altitude round here. However at -27°C intensive exercise probably causes exercise induced asthma so be careful on that.Don't blame me it's a well documented finding by Norwegian researchers studying Cross Country skiers and biathletes. Do what Gret Weiz and Ingrid Kristiansen did, run on a treadmill in your kitchen (mind you I fell off the other day and broke my little finger)

Do what Gret Weiz and Ingrid Kristiansen did, run on a treadmill in your kitchen (mind you I fell off the other day and broke my little finger) The Norwegian research and your treadmill experience are most convincing. Also, I ventured outside for just a few minutes to see what it was like, and my kidneys were quickly joined by two other spherical objects. Clearly, human beings are intended to stay inside, drink alcohol, avoid exercise and watch or listen to football games on days like this. Who am I to rebel against that commonsense?
Right sider Posted 24 November, 2010 Posted 24 November, 2010 Moan about the weather, you lot are ridiculous. Btw I'm sat in Bangkok and it is 35c in the day and 25c at night. Only bugger is i'm coming home on saturday and it is forecast snow and 2c!!!!!! Don't think my shorts, T shirt and sandals will be any good!
Whitey Grandad Posted 24 November, 2010 Posted 24 November, 2010 It wasn't too bad after all. No wind so not as cold as Saturday, and a geat view of the Moon and all the planes on their landing approaches.
