Yup, looks like life is going to get tough for me, I have the 20th of Dec to Jan 5th booked off and was hoping to put my feet up and get some beer down my neck.

If its anything like last year though i expect they will revoke it and i'll end up trudging around white fields trying not to fall down ditches.

It would be better if it went down your throat, your way will just soak your shirt and you will still be sober.

Very important thread, will determine whether I choose a rear wheel or front wheel drive car to get down to the game.

* Edit * The Penny has dropped to buy a 4x4

These guys have got the right idea.

Those things look crazy!

We need flares now and again. Brighton fans had them at Woking for crying out loud!

********, as somebody who lives in the Alps I can assure you that you don't need a 4x4:(it won't harm you) but snow tyres should be enough.

Anyway, there is no cold weather, just bad clothing. Long johns, tights, ski underwear, hats and gloves: no probs...

Two pairs of socks, short shirt, long sleeved shirt, Saints shirt, coat, gloves...sorted. Nothing I can do about my legs.

heh? You wearing a short skirt then? Try 60 denier tights, they'll keep your legs warm.

Don't think anything will beat the snow back in January - the whole country came to a halt for about 3 days , leading to people writing on Facebook to let everyone know when the bread delivery was at the local Tesco's

Layers folks, layers.

We typically get into the -20s here but it is pretty comfortable outside if you dress properly, gloves, woolly hat (toque), scarf etc. Put you hand in your gloves when they are warm (i.e. inside the car/house etc). One week a year we get into the -30s and that is pretty damn cold, the wind alone makes the skin n your face feel raw and you get the feeling that the hairs in your nose are freezing...

Hot water bottle in your pouch?

You could get it filled up at half time if you ask nicely

I bought myself a jacket called the Incinerator by Berghaus after last year at St Mary's when I really got cold. The wind inside the stadium is a killer. I wore it yesterday over a thin jumper and a tee shirt and I was very warm indeed :).

The benefits of Down and Primaloft in one jacket, the Incinerator Insulated Jacket is the ultimate Berghaus protection against the cold and damp. The Incinerator Jacket comprises an elasticated box baffled 90/10 Grey Goose Down inner with Primaloft Sport (60g) synthetic insulation over the top and a Pertex Endurance outer. The results are an incredibly warm yet breathable Insulated Jacket that will perform in the harshest of environments, exactly what you need when you’re several hundred feet up on a belay ledge, setting up a high altitude base camp or snuggling down in that emergency snowhole.

Sounds great, but for the sake of £250 I'll put an extra sweatshirt on.

1 degree is nothing. I remember getting battered by Sheffield utd a few years ago and it was minus 6

I remember that. I looked at my Dad at 60 minutes, after which we had barely touched the ball and just said "what are we doing here?"

Leeds Utd Away League Cup Semi Final 1st Leg '79

Sunderland Away (always), but especially the just before Christmas trip with London Saints about 8 or 10 years ago

But yep, you're right, I will have to wrap up warm, likely to be a chilly 21C by the time I finish working at the golf Tuesday and go for a well earned beer

I beleive this was designed specifically for November evenings in Southampton.

That's because you are silly.

I am sure the kingsland is refrigerated to keep all the old people fresh

Once when it was blazing hot outside when we were playing a spanish team in a pre season friendly it was still freezing in the Kingsland

Or even part way through the half - it would save someone going to the loo and getting in everyone's way ;)

We had queues to the back door and two grown men had a fight over the last bottle of milk.

Usual load of BBC forecasting ********. It'll be about the same as today +8C no worries. T-shirts should be OK.

Yep. T shirt, shorts, ankle socks, trainers. Kingsland.

Try trousers. And ladies stockings - that's what the Brighton fans will be wearing under theirs.

You bunch of puffs. Why can't you go bare chested, like those proper hard nuts from the Toon?

I'm a puff. I only had my Saints shirt on on Saturday, and was ******* freezing, at half time, I put my coat back on, along with my gloves, scarf and hat. Those Northern monkeys can catch hypothermia if they like, I personally am a creature of comforts.
