thesaint sfc Posted 19 November, 2010 Share Posted 19 November, 2010 (edited) Giganews is offering this diamond package (https://www.giganews.com/signup/#free-trial-anchor) Uncapped 834 retention 50 connections 256bit SSL Mimo VYPRVPN For $14.99 for the first month, $29.99 there after. Is this a good deal? 50 connections - does that mean you can be downloading 50 things at the same time? I don't really see how their deal for $24.99 is worst - just has 20 connections and not the mimo/VYPRPVPN. Baj? Anyone? Also which program do you use to download stuff? I've downloaded one called newsleecher which is supposed to be good. Edited 19 November, 2010 by thesaint sfc
Baj Posted 19 November, 2010 Share Posted 19 November, 2010 giganews are the ****!!! Been using them for about 4 years. 50 connections is how many connections you can have to their usenet server, so 50 streams of data, realistically, you wont need more than 10 or 15 open to max out your connection. Ive gone back to using http://www.newzbin.com since it was relaunched for my nzb's, and use http://www.newsbin.com for software
mdearlove Posted 20 November, 2010 Share Posted 20 November, 2010 I use newsdemon - their top package is just under £13 for 50 connections, ssl, about 620 days retention. Had no issues whatsoever. They have european servers which makes life a little quicker. As for software - I swear by sabnzb along with sickbeard for automatic downloading of TV programs. Both work together really well. I moved to nzbmatrix when newzbin shutdown and haven't needed to go back.
