Not a replacement for Puncheon, but Sky reported that contract talks had broken down between Rotherham and Adam Le Fondre........

As for a replacement for Puncheon. How about the boy Oxlade-Chamberlain?

Alex is a start, but if he got injured or suffered a spell of poor form (as these youngsters should have the perogative to do...) then we need a little bit of cover.

Yeah, I was being facetious.

What is Antonio doing these days?

I believe he is playing quite well for Reading. It's hard to move on, I know....

I think Le Fondre will def. be off in January, no question. But we'll be in a massive queue for his services...i would expect championship sides to be seriously looking at him too, terrific player.

The antonio deal died a death when they were asking for obscene amounts of money for him (which they're entitled to do)

We should go back in for Papa in January, he's not played all season though as he hasn't been registered in his clubs squad - so he's lacking fitness.

How much are they asking for him though? 2 million or so? A rediculous asking price.

FFS people need to move on.

Well if you count coming on for 7 or 8 minutes here, 19 minutes there or not coming off the bench at all in some games playing quite well then I guess he is

Im pretty sure that Chaplow can play on the wing. Could be an option?

IMO he can't. He's a central midfielder pure and simple.

The same people that think Chaplow is a wide midfielder are the ones that during the summer thought Harding could play centre midfield and Lambert should play for England.

Ivan Sproule

Good shout, but he hasn't been in the squad for City's last 3 games, is he injured?

Bad times for Palace this season, perhaps if we're a bit nearer the top and offer a fair whack, Neill Danns might be tempted?

it never ceases to amaze me the complete and utter lack of understanding of people that watch games on a regular basis. I know the game is all about opinions, but some are worth diddly.

I still wouldn't pay a penny over 500k for him. He was hardly starting here either FFS.

30 posts in and no ones mentioned Stocky!!!

Probably because 'Stocky' is a central midfielder.

David Templeton from Hearts or Aaron Doran from Blackburn please.

Anthony McNamee born 1984..now at Norwich and mainly sub...Would they let him go?

Very good winger although only 5/5 or 5/6 tall ...played well against us for Swindon and Watford before that.

Remember him and Ashley Young murdering us when we were in the Championship. Beat us 3-0 at SMS IIRC.

Probably hit and miss...maybe like Dyer...would be good to have around....

Trust NA will come up with the right signings....Although our squad should be good enough...

Still think we will get two wins and off we go......Off to pray again...

I don't understand the rush to sign another, maybe Punch was just surplus to requirements, why upset OXO and all the young hopefuls we are meant to encourage?

always thought Punch would have been better through middle!!

Although he proved otherwise, but he did play that role for MK Dons...trouble is he got so many cards it wasn't very rentable.

Yes - but young players should not be played all the time. It might be good for us in the short term but it is bad for them in the long term.

Personally I don't think we need anyone. AO-C plays there and we could always swap Lallana over and bring Dickson on. Butterfield could also start on right wing if necessary if a game is past Alex's bedtime. Glad Puncheon has gone up a division rather to a rival and I think someone, somewhere will get the best out of him.

Kenny Jackett usually gets the best out of most players because really with the team they had last season they shouldn't have been above us -10 or no -10.

Puncheon IS better

It's just that he does not, nor ever did, like it this far South. PLUS, he wants a better standard of Football

Saints standard of Football is Division Three, no more, no less

Millwall's is Championship, currently ONE DIVISION Higher

Yes I know what you mean, it completely destroyed Alan Ball, George Best, Jimmy Greaves, to mention but Three

When you are young, even at Park level, you never STOP playing
