Colinjb Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 So, who could we have? I'll start with Martyn Woolford of Scunny.
ottery st mary Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Craig Noone from Plymouth or Ryan Harley from Exeter.
Matthew Le God Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 The S****horpe chairman said none of his players will be following Adkins anytime soon...
Colinjb Posted 17 November, 2010 Author Posted 17 November, 2010 The S****horpe chairman said none of his players will be following Adkins anytime soon... And we sold to the North London yobbos, never say never.
georgeweahscousin Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Not a replacement for Puncheon, but Sky reported that contract talks had broken down between Rotherham and Adam Le Fondre........ As for a replacement for Puncheon. How about the boy Oxlade-Chamberlain?
Colinjb Posted 17 November, 2010 Author Posted 17 November, 2010 Not a replacement for Puncheon, but Sky reported that contract talks had broken down between Rotherham and Adam Le Fondre........ As for a replacement for Puncheon. How about the boy Oxlade-Chamberlain? Alex is a start, but if he got injured or suffered a spell of poor form (as these youngsters should have the perogative to do...) then we need a little bit of cover.
georgeweahscousin Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Yeah, I was being facetious. What is Antonio doing these days?
Colinjb Posted 17 November, 2010 Author Posted 17 November, 2010 Yeah, I was being facetious. What is Antonio doing these days? I believe he is playing quite well for Reading. It's hard to move on, I know....
S-Clarke Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Not a replacement for Puncheon, but Sky reported that contract talks had broken down between Rotherham and Adam Le Fondre........ As for a replacement for Puncheon. How about the boy Oxlade-Chamberlain? I think Le Fondre will def. be off in January, no question. But we'll be in a massive queue for his services...i would expect championship sides to be seriously looking at him too, terrific player.
S-Clarke Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Yeah, I was being facetious. What is Antonio doing these days? The antonio deal died a death when they were asking for obscene amounts of money for him (which they're entitled to do) We should go back in for Papa in January, he's not played all season though as he hasn't been registered in his clubs squad - so he's lacking fitness.

A rediculous asking price.
itchen_dan Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Im pretty sure that Chaplow can play on the wing. Could be an option? Fingers crossed Cortese will allow Adkins to splash the cash on Le Fondre!!
S-Clarke Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 How much are they asking for him though? 2 million or so? A rediculous asking price. It was over £1m according to some info i heard.
Smirking_Saint Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Would love ALF. George Boyd ?? Niell Danns ?
Turkish Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 The antonio deal died a death when they were asking for obscene amounts of money for him (which they're entitled to do) We should go back in for Papa in January, he's not played all season though as he hasn't been registered in his clubs squad - so he's lacking fitness. FFS people need to move on.
Turkish Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 That lad Malouda playing for France tonight looks decent, who does he play for? I think he would be worth a bid.
ottery st mary Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Holmes? Thought he was keeping Connolly company in the first aid room.......It is the new nurse that keeps them going back.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Jamal Campbell-Ryce would do a good job. Fast and always does well against us.
beatlesaint Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 I believe he is playing quite well for Reading. It's hard to move on, I know.... Well if you count coming on for 7 or 8 minutes here, 19 minutes there or not coming off the bench at all in some games playing quite well then I guess he is
Chez Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Im pretty sure that Chaplow can play on the wing. Could be an option? IMO he can't. He's a central midfielder pure and simple.
Turkish Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 IMO he can't. He's a central midfielder pure and simple. The same people that think Chaplow is a wide midfielder are the ones that during the summer thought Harding could play centre midfield and Lambert should play for England.
Chez Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Let's do what we should have done two summers ago and get Dany N'Guessan in. Currently on loan to Scunny.
Nexstar Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Ivan Sproule Good shout, but he hasn't been in the squad for City's last 3 games, is he injured? Bad times for Palace this season, perhaps if we're a bit nearer the top and offer a fair whack, Neill Danns might be tempted?
Chez Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 The same people that think Chaplow is a wide midfielder are the ones that during the summer thought Harding could play centre midfield and Lambert should play for England. it never ceases to amaze me the complete and utter lack of understanding of people that watch games on a regular basis. I know the game is all about opinions, but some are worth diddly.
Smirking_Saint Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Well if you count coming on for 7 or 8 minutes here, 19 minutes there or not coming off the bench at all in some games playing quite well then I guess he is I still wouldn't pay a penny over 500k for him. He was hardly starting here either FFS.
K,Billy's supersound Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 me. i got some old football boots in the wardrobe and imo i'm ace's if no then we could go for jermaine johnson or giles coke of sheffield wednesday.
SuperSAINT Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Wade Elliott playing much for Burnley this season?
Dazza82 Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Ben Davies from Notts county An outstanding contributor to the team's success, he carved out 17 goals and chipped in with 15 of his own throughout 2009/10. Many of these came in spectacular style and he has certainly earned the right to be known as the side's dead ball specialist. http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10426~10341,00.html
Guan 2.0 Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Papa Waigo. More of a striker, but offers goalscoring (and offside threat).
thorpie the sinner Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 30 posts in and no ones mentioned Stocky!!!
SuperMikey Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 30 posts in and no ones mentioned Stocky!!! Probably because 'Stocky' is a central midfielder. David Templeton from Hearts or Aaron Doran from Blackburn please.
ottery st mary Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Anthony McNamee born 1984..now at Norwich and mainly sub...Would they let him go? Very good winger although only 5/5 or 5/6 tall ...played well against us for Swindon and Watford before that.

thorpie the sinner Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 always thought Punch would have been better through middle!!

Beat us 3-0 at SMS IIRC.
ottery st mary Posted 17 November, 2010 Posted 17 November, 2010 Remember him and Ashley Young murdering us when we were in the Championship. Beat us 3-0 at SMS IIRC. Probably hit and miss...maybe like Dyer...would be good to have around.... Trust NA will come up with the right signings....Although our squad should be good enough... Still think we will get two wins and off we go......Off to pray again...
Mr Saints Posted 18 November, 2010 Posted 18 November, 2010 Arjen Robben? Oh, we already signed him when Poortvliet was in charge.
Dellman Posted 18 November, 2010 Posted 18 November, 2010 I don't understand the rush to sign another, maybe Punch was just surplus to requirements, why upset OXO and all the young hopefuls we are meant to encourage?
Window Cleaner Posted 18 November, 2010 Posted 18 November, 2010 We don't need a replacement, we've already got one....Chaplow, probably at 3 times the price but there you go. Looked good going down the left the other day.
Window Cleaner Posted 18 November, 2010 Posted 18 November, 2010 always thought Punch would have been better through middle!! Although he proved otherwise, but he did play that role for MK Dons...trouble is he got so many cards it wasn't very rentable.
St_Tel49 Posted 18 November, 2010 Posted 18 November, 2010 I don't understand the rush to sign another, maybe Punch was just surplus to requirements, why upset OXO and all the young hopefuls we are meant to encourage? Yes - but young players should not be played all the time. It might be good for us in the short term but it is bad for them in the long term.
Saints67 Posted 18 November, 2010 Posted 18 November, 2010 Personally I don't think we need anyone. AO-C plays there and we could always swap Lallana over and bring Dickson on. Butterfield could also start on right wing if necessary if a game is past Alex's bedtime. Glad Puncheon has gone up a division rather to a rival and I think someone, somewhere will get the best out of him.

Glad Puncheon has gone up a division rather to a rival and I think someone, somewhere will get the best out of him. Kenny Jackett usually gets the best out of most players because really with the team they had last season they shouldn't have been above us -10 or no -10.
SaintRichmond Posted 18 November, 2010 Posted 18 November, 2010 always thought Punch would have been better through middle!! Puncheon IS better It's just that he does not, nor ever did, like it this far South. PLUS, he wants a better standard of Football Saints standard of Football is Division Three, no more, no less Millwall's is Championship, currently ONE DIVISION Higher
SaintRichmond Posted 18 November, 2010 Posted 18 November, 2010 Yes - but young players should not be played all the time. It might be good for us in the short term but it is bad for them in the long term. Yes I know what you mean, it completely destroyed Alan Ball, George Best, Jimmy Greaves, to mention but Three When you are young, even at Park level, you never STOP playing
sebastian firefly Posted 18 November, 2010 Posted 18 November, 2010 Rudi Skacel would he be there to teach a ox c to wave
