...and Adam Hamill scored for Barnsley, add another to the list of little blighters who perhaps go on to prove us alll wrong? Maybe he's off the Mars bars..

Yeah, and I see Kevin Gibbens scored for Sholing yesterday; add him to the list.

IF..it is purely a loan and not with any attached sell in Jan. transfer.

IF..Punch has not burnt all his bridges and would still come back after loan...even temporary to help our promotion.

IF..We can't get a replacement in Jan.

IF..We have injuries and are doing very well at the top of the league..

I for one would welcome him back with open arms to help the cause. With this in mind and with his head screwed on he would be

a blinding signing in those circumstances. Well like a new signing, even if temporary.

None of the above applies if we get a very good winger/MF in or Holmes stays fit and supports AOX and Lallana or another youngster appears from within.

..no need for Punch.

He is still ours for now BUT would his head be in the right place or would he be a good pro and do it for Saints if we needed him..

I am sure Nigel has got it all under control.

Looks like Puncheon won't be back in a hurry....this type of petulant comment tells us much about the individual I think. Some players would want to stay and prove the manager wrong, others will jump from club to club blaming others for their own shortcomings.

Adkins gave him plenty of opportunities. He didn't take them. Good luck to him at Millwall. I hope he does well and stays there .

Would much prefer Holmes based on Puncheons frankly inept performances. Even as a supposed left-footer, Holmes did a magnificant job on the right and got to the byline more times in one game than Puncheon had done almost all season. Lets face it, Holmes has shown incredible devotion to the squad by sticking around waiting for his chance and now it looks like his fitness has returned and NA is giving him the opportunities to excel. Well done Lee Holmes.

Holmes was one of our better players at the start of the Dutch reign, then he got injured and it all looked so much worse because

our midfield had no outlets.Noticed that he put in an excellent cross with his right foot on Saturday, maybe the one Guly scored from.

Holmes is a good player as long as he's left out wide and gets to stay fit.

yeah I'm sure drawing a nice wedge each week has helped I suppose we should thank Pulis for sticking around too? It's not as if Holmes has been fit that much or as if teams have been knocking down the door to sign him. If he can stay fit and play well that would be great but I don't think we should making him out to be some loyalty guru in fact a good half season is the least he owes us considering how much he's had in wages compared to how much he has played.

Are you certain about how much he's drawn in wages...perhaps he's been on a PAYP deal? Please enlighten us with your knowledge. There is a significant difference between Pulis and Holmes I would suggest - Holmes can play football and is worthy of a deal.

And prehaps he's not. We've only started PAYP (Connolly) since the new owners took over and as Holmes arrived during Lowes tenure I'm pretty sure he's not on a PAYP deal . According to the OS he has made 14 starts for the club in two and half seasons so if is on a PAYP deal I imagine he'd be homeless and died of starvation by now. If anyone has shown some loyalty I'd suggest it's the club not Lee Holmes, he came here on a free so letting him go would have saved the club some money however the club have stuck with him despite all his injuries about time he re-payed the club for that.

Well, that's very telling about his attitude. He forgot to add that he would want to be at a club where the fans wanted him to stay too, as shooting from the lip like that is likely to lose any support from us too and the attitude from many will now be good riddance if he doesn't want to be here.

It's about time he had a good look at himself and wondered why it was that he had such an unsettled career so far. If the various managers he has played under don't rate him enough to want to keep him, the fault might just lie with him and his attitude. I made up my own mind about him when I saw him slouching about with his hands in his pockets at Markus Liebherr's service. I also feel that Adkins is probably a good man-manager and if he were to decide that Puncheon is not worth the extra effort, then it won't be long before he falls out with Millwall too.

Although his nose may have been put out of joint because he has been replaced in the team and in the fan's affections by a 17 year old kid, he ought to reflect that had he buckled down and fought back, he would have earned more respect from Adkins and from us.

petulant? get yer OE out. “I wanted to be at a club where a manager wants you and believes in your ability.”

Maybe he was at a club where the manager didn't want him, so he went to a club where the manager did want him ,taking a cut in pay (ugh?) and dropping down a division (double ugh??), scored the winning goal and everyone goes home happy.

Or he could have stayed here and had people like you booing him every time he is on the pitch. Duh!

If Puncheon does well there and Millwall look to keep him, how much do you reckon we would get for him? Does anyone know how much we paid for him? (think it was officially undisclosed?)

With regards to Holmes, I doubt he would have been on big wages when he joined us. He was going nowhere fast and I imagine he would have jumped at the chance to join a CCC club at the time. He may have signed for a modest (by a footballer's standards) basic wage and large appearance money. Not quite a pay as you play, but I doubt he is on big cash.

Umm Millwall are a Division abocve us and I doubt very much he would have had to take a pay cut, if Millwall couldn't have afforded him we would be paying the rest of his wage.

Now when he moves there in Jan (which is pretty certain now) we won't have to, so he obviously wants to do a Saganowski to get a contract and then he'll be back to his good old running into blind allie not looking up self!

And yes it is petulant, if he wanted to he could have girded his loins and proved to NA that he should be playing BUT oh no, much easier to spit your dummy out and sit on the bench taking your pay isn't it???

if every ex-saints scores against the Saints I'll cope better with allowing the better to leave us.

It should also be remembered that some of the loans are for a limited time and (often) the clubs want them back anyway.

Farming out players to a lower league /or helping another club out when they have injury problems is part and parcel of the game. It's a win-win situation for a player to prove himself, and either get a shot at a place with the mother club, or a regular

place in another side.

I don't expect Pulis or Wotton to come back, but might well see Punch and even Mills back with us after the New Year.

Jack Saville is in that " grey area" ..will he become an Aaron Martin? ..or an Ollie Lancashire ?

Actually I have never booed a Saints player in my life so suggest you make less assumptions in future and for the record, petulant works just fine.
