Haye V Harrison

Anyone going to watch this? It's a bit of a non-contest for me. Harrison has consistently proved himself to have no bottle and I hope Haye comprehensively out boxes him and then floors him. I think it's a travesty that Harrison has actually got a title shot at all.

Any number of recent Klitschko opponents don't really deserve their title shots either. Until the big three sort their arses (or purse splits) out to fight each other it'll always be thus. Anyway, Haye in two. Audley would be a bit of an embarrassment if he was champion and then faced one of the Klitschko's.

Reason i posted that is sky box office is down so you can't book it over the phone. So rather then let people miss out thought i'd post a link to help those people ;)

On paper Haye will destroy Harrison. But sometimes fights don't go that way. Harrison really only has one chance and that is to land the big left like he did against Sprott. Haye leaves himself open a lot and if he goes in wreckless then he could get knocked out. So in my opinion it all boils down to how Haye fights. If he goes in gun blazing he could get caught. If he goes in and tries to do the jab and run tactic like he has in previous fights then he will win on points and it will be a total snoozefest. For Harrison to win Haye has to come in feeling the pressure and making mistakes. That is what is great about boxing is that it can happen. It happened with Lennox vs Rahman, it can happen at anytime. I hope it doesn't as i can't stand Harrison, but wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Haye get caught and go down.

Yeah, f*ck paying for that. To be honest, it was the most over-hyped thing I've ever come across in boxing, and boxing likes to hype stuff too much. Harrison said he had a good chance, others said he had a punchers chance. No - not if you don't punch. He spent the first two rounds hiding, then as soon as Haye took some initiative he was just blown away, instantly. Couldn't take the power or the speed. Absolutely terrible. I mean, he looked amateur compared to Haye. He needed to get up and use that reach. even then he'd have had little chance, but for god's sake, he might as well have not turned up.

Terrible, even worse to think that i have the lads round for that !! Anyways, luckily more lager left and Pacquiao later.

What a terrible excuse for a boxer Harrison is !! He looked like some playground kid in playschool getting a beat down, looked scared from the off !!

I hope he gets next to f*ck all for that fight, its the equivalent of Man utd sitting in the center circle for 90 mins in a champions league final.

I think the Pacquiao vs Margarito fight tonight will be much much better then that.

I stayed up and watched it and it was a great fight and just what boxing should be.

Haye and Harrison is a complete joke and both of them should take a long hard look at themselves.

Is Manny Pacquiao the best boxer of all time, in my opinion quite possibly!

You cant really blame Haye, it takes two to make a fight and he was giving away height, weight and 8 inches of reach, he got his tactics spot on IMO. Harrison, one punch (a jab) landed in 3 rounds tells the story. I am just amazed that so many thought he had a chance and bought into it all, he has never delivered and despite all his own hype has always been a boring, defensive boxer more worried about getting hurt than fighting.

I've followed Hayes career, i remember watching him lose to Carl Thompson 6 years ago and always thought he was an exciting boxer who would go far, but you can only beat what is in front of you and as a cruiser weight going up to heavy weight you cant go in all guns blazing against a heavy weight 3 1/2 stone heavier like he could get away with at cruiser weight, eg, the Enzo Macrinello fight, one big punch from them and it could be lights out however good you might be, Lennox Lewis v Hasim rahman for example.

As for your comment about Pacquiao, i think floyd Mayweather might have something to say about that!!

I have also followed Haye since before the Thompson fight and I am a big fan. As you say it takes two to fight but Haye hardly threw a punch in the first round and then they were both warned by the ref to box and up the pace in the second. It was only then that Haye started to up his game. If he was that convinced he could take Harrison out at any time then destroy him in the first and show him to be the mug he is.

I don't blame Haye for taking the Harrison fight after all he had to fight someone last quarter this year so why not a good pay day against him. I just feel a little cheated by David and his camp. His comments about taking him out in the 3rd to satisfy his friend’s and family's bets were also a tad unwise. Lots of casual boxing fans paid money for that fight and they have just seen a **** contest and then with that comment Haye has basically mugged them off.

As for Mayweather, yes he has a chance but with Pacquiao in that form last night I don't think anyone can live with him. Did you see the fight, if not well worth watching.

Harrison showed what a mug he is all by himself! Yeah, not particularly impressed with Hayes comments about taking him out in round 3 and putting money on himself to do it, but a lot of boxers have done that in the past, he shouldn't have said it though as like you say a lot of casual fight fans will feel cheated.

Haye was in a bit of a no win situation, beat him easily and everyone says that he should have done anyway or if it went on into the later rounds then he'd have been slaughtered for it. I am amazed that Harrison offered absoultely nothing, this was his first and only shot at a world title and the last fight of his career, going out like that is embarassing but in a way sums up his pro career, a lot of talk and hype but no substance.

As for Pacquiao and Mayweather, i just hope they finally get it on, Pacquiao is a class act, a brilliant and exciting fighter but Mayweather is too, different styles but both great fighters who could both claim to be the best pound for pound fighter in the world. I really couldn't call who would win it but it will be a great fight. With that and hopefully Haye v the Klistchko brothers too look forward to next year it'll hopefully be the best year of big fights for a long long time.

its worth noting the story about Haye being investigated by the boxing powers-that-be after he said on air that he bet on himself to win in the third.

It was a great fight. Manny is one of the best of all time for sure. To win a world title at one weight is good going, to win at eight is just unbelievable. We are lucky to be alive to witness someone like that. I just hope now he can get the Mayweather fight sorted out as really there is nowhere else for him to go. Maybe he should fight Haye or one of the Klitchkos!

Margarito though is one hard bastard. He took so many power shots to the head and kept on going. Soon as the fight ended he had to go to hospital to have his cut inspected. When he was there he was told he had busted his eye socket badly. He didn't know until he was told! Hard as nails.
