doddisalegend Posted 12 November, 2010 Posted 12 November, 2010 I think we already know the team..5 in midfield Rickie en point,Jaidi for Seaborne etc etc yeah didn't see Leftbacks post (or rather saw it didn't notice who the poster was) still rather have Butters than Richardson though good to see Jaidi in.
Dark Munster Posted 12 November, 2010 Posted 12 November, 2010 Carlisle 'banter': From Ollie*CUFC @ FootballForums "Saw the Southampton squad today Ugly bunch, didn't recognise any of them. There were a couple of small black midgets that I towered over. They were all piling off the team coach into the local cinema, looked like some kind of handicapped outing with their bright red trackies." "Also their team bus was w@nk. " Sh1t club, sh1t fans. Still bitter after the JPT final, I see.
Sour Mash Posted 12 November, 2010 Posted 12 November, 2010 Saints team nipped into the Wetherspoons in Carlisle town centre earlier this evening, strange build up for a game, guess team building and all that.....
sfc4prem Posted 12 November, 2010 Posted 12 November, 2010 I thought Adkins would enforce a strict diet regime to ensure our players stay at their best physically. I guess not...
St Chalet Posted 12 November, 2010 Posted 12 November, 2010 Clearly there is no Nandos franchise in Carlisle
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 12 November, 2010 Posted 12 November, 2010 If we play football and pass the ball in the right areas I think we'll win 3-1. It's as simple as that.
adrian lord Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 I thought Adkins would enforce a strict diet regime to ensure our players stay at their best physically. I guess not... No -they are about to get their first Harvester.
doddisalegend Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 If we play football and pass the ball in the right areas I think we'll win 3-1. It's as simple as that. oh bugger!T that's Nigels plan to play rugby tommorrow in an effort to confuse the opposition buggered then;)
1976_Child Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 (edited) anyone else going to be at Euston betwix the hours of 0600 zulu and 0730 zulu awaiting the 0730 zulu train to Carlisle? If so, let's do coffee! Edited 13 November, 2010 by 1976_Child
1976_Child Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 what was last year? 500? less? anyone remember?
Matthew Le God Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 It will be alot more than 500, Saints sold 500 and ask for another 500 tickets. So will be close to 1,000, which is impressive for a 660 mile round trip in the 3rd tier. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/TicketNews/0,,10280~2204261,00.html
rick1976.4.38 Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 went last year but not tomorrow,we took over 800 last season.it was a good atmosphere, good luck to all who go tomorrow and sing your hearts out for the lads.wifm
1976_Child Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 good turnout, hopefully tickets on the gates too. left it too late to buy tic and have taken up on the coach as usual for away games but I am confident that there will be a tic available on the turnstile. If not then I will put on my best Cumbrian accent, sit on my hands and slum it with the rest of the Northerners. Leaving home in thirty mins to get to to Brighton station in time for the 03:50 train to Victoria. Hotel all booked and ready in Carlisle. Haven't been that far north for an age ... since three years ago! As Confucius said: 'It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end' and '... remember, no matter where you go, there you are.' Up the Saints, we will prevail.. COYR!!
Saint J 77 Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Would love to go but I'm working.I'm hoping for 3 points though. Hope all who make the trip enjoy the game and the journey is worth it
alehouseboys Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 went last year but not tomorrow,we took over 800 last season.it was a good atmosphere, good luck to all who go tomorrow and sing your hearts out for the lads.wifm Just under a 1000 last season, probably 800ish this...and as you say, good luck to all. I'm sat here with a nice hot cup of tea while you lot have already been on the road to Scotland for the past 2 or 3 hours. Lucky b'stards!
fareham saint phil Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 I know 3 Cumbrian Saints that will be there so they have been ordered to have a few sing songs on me this year !!
beatlesaint Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 1000 up there would be a tremendous turn out. Funny isn't it how Saints fans go about their business supporting the club in such great fashion whilst down the road everyone is creaming themselves about what magnificent - when was the last time a home game was sold out - supporters they have ? Umm...
dubai_phil Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Can anyone answer a really important question that could affect our chances this afternoon? Did Connolly manage to get out the Treatment Room? Even coming from the bench he is quite possibly the best striker at the club
Window Cleaner Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Can anyone answer a really important question that could affect our chances this afternoon? Did Connolly manage to get out the Treatment Room? Even coming from the bench he is quite possibly the best striker at the club he was at the training session of which video footage formed the backdrop to this week's NA build up interview. In the blue bibs so that means he'll be an "impact player".
Cricketphilly Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Clearly there is no Nandos franchise in Carlisle They don't wear shoes in Carlisle, let alone have a Nandos
Window Cleaner Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 They don't wear shoes in Carlisle, let alone have a Nandos I don't think there are any Nandos in France either, there's a facebook group reclaiming at least one though.Whether the members have shoes or not though I just couldn't say.
oggiee Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Not as confident as usual, traditionally a game where saints will find it hard to retain the ball and move the opposition about. Will be a game where Barnard and Puncheons work rate could be essential, Saints to score first, 1-1. Still not a bad result TBF.
ottery st mary Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 3-1 to the mighty Saints maybe even 4-1. Come on you Saints...Play them off the park and move on up.. WIFM

Will be a game where Barnard and Puncheons work rate could be essential, Saints to score first, 1-1. Still not a bad result TBF. Puncheon and Barnard will be on the bench though, getting us in front will be down to Rickie and Lallana as I don't think AOC will make much of an impact at all today, playing far too much football and has an international midweek I think.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 anyone else going to be at Euston betwix the hours of 0600 zulu and 0730 zulu awaiting the 0730 zulu train to Carlisle? If so, let's do coffee! Is this one of those coded hooligan messages we here so much about in the press?
timebomb Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Last year there were a lot of complaints about the state of the pitch, is that likely to be a factor today?
dubai_phil Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 They don't wear shoes in Carlisle, let alone have a Nandos I trust that our stay at home google meisters are even now trawling the innerweb in order to ensure that the Match Thread has a suitable supply of pictures of Nuns with large chests eating Nando's
saintrich Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Last year there were a lot of complaints about the state of the pitch, is that likely to be a factor today? Wasn't there a pitch inspection at 10am? If so I imagine the pitch isn't likely to be great. I think if we can defend well on set pieces we'll get the win today. Our defence hasn't looked too troubled from open play in recent weeks under Adkins.
trousers Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 I've got a feeling we'll narrowly lose this one. That said, being an idiotic Daily Mail reader I'm quite often wrong.
Window Cleaner Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 we won't lose unless someone makes a monumental cock up, the team looks to be structured with the express purpose of not losing.
scotty Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 we won't lose unless someone makes a monumental cock up, the team looks to be structured with the express purpose of not losing. wtf??
Window Cleaner Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 I wtf?? If we believe leftback over this (and many of us do because in selection matters he usually gives us the good gen) we have 5 in midfield and Jaidi and José at the back, thus the team is structured not to lose and stay in the race as NA so quaintly puts it.
david in sweden Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 1000 up there would be a tremendous turn out. Funny isn't it how Saints fans go about their business supporting the club in such great fashion whilst down the road everyone is creaming themselves about what magnificent - when was the last time a home game was sold out - supporters they have ? Umm... as memory serves ...if it does... last season (1-1) and the gate was 7000..and a 92nd min. point-saver from Jaidi, think I saw a figure of 691 Saints fans?..or
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 First of all, a huge hand to the 1,000 going up there. An amazing turn out for that game! Secondly, I don't think we will beat them 4-1: This will be difficult. If we can come away with a one goal win then I will over the moon. I would however quite happily take a draw.
MadDogMatt Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 in the Woodrow Wilson in Carlisle quite a few Saints fans around would have been here in 4 1/4 hrs but for M6 accident as it was 5 1/4 COYR
georgeweahscousin Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Am I being negative if I say I would take a draw? Long trip, Carlisle on form. We should win, but traditionally this is the type of game we struggle in. COYR.
John B Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Am I being negative if I say I would take a draw? Long trip, Carlisle on form. We should win, but traditionally this is the type of game we struggle in. COYR. I was thinking the same as you but Carlisle did have a win in the JPT on Tuesday

ericofarabia Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Tom Cruise is dropped from the Carlisle line up .... must be a bit knackered with all the filming of Mission Impoosible 4 here in Dubai including dangling on the outside of the worlds talest building The Burj Khalifa. Radio cumbria reckon a 4 3 2 1 line up for them, not expecting a big hoofball game due to our strong defence.
marc_saint Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Saints Team (4-3-3): Davis. Richardson, Fonte, Jaidi, Harding. Schneiderlin, Hammond ©, Chaplow. Chamberlain, Lambert, Lallana.

And leftback is spot on the money with our team, does he do lottery numbers as well??? the "bibs" are also spot on, shake the bag Nigel!!!
Nexstar Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Looks like a very attacking formation, we look strong all over the park with that lineup!
Saint Charlie Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 The club won't like our team being posted the day before every game...
SO16_Saint Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 we are top in league form table over last 6 games, they've won 2 out of 6. Dead cert defeat for us surely!
Window Cleaner Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 The club won't like our team being posted the day before every game... but you can see it every time anyway, the first team are those not wearing the bibs in training on the build up video.Anyway no need for all this secret squirrel stuff anyway, the team used to be printed in the Echo days before the match.
Window Cleaner Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Dead cert defeat for us surely! this is Saints remember
ChrisPY Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Shouldn't matter if the team is posted on here. The players are good enough to win every match in this league.
ericofarabia Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 And leftback is spot on the money with our team, does he do lottery numbers as well??? the "bibs" are also spot on, shake the bag Nigel!!! Is this a fact ? ... Saints Player still haven't had the team sheet yet.
Window Cleaner Posted 13 November, 2010 Posted 13 November, 2010 Shouldn't matter if the team is posted on here. The players are good enough to win every match in this league. Certainly this team looks that way;Good to see it being tried this way because with a Lambert+Barnard partnership in attack it means we have to leave a better player on the bench be it Chaplow,Morgan or Hammond.Just have to see how it works out really.
