The Premier League asked teams to submit squads this year so surely the expectation is that managers can freely use their named squad in whatever game they feel like.

Ian Holloway is my fave manager. He's absolutely right, or else what is the point in having the players at the club? Are the PL saying they want the starting XI plus subs, and nobody else plays?

so Redkarp threatens to not do interviews if he is punished for rightly saying the ref was a joke, he gets let off. holloway says he'll resign if he's punished for this. is this the new counter measures policy that all managers will adopt? isnt there something that says each team has to play its strongest possible team every game in order to "entertain"? just cos this game happened to end up 3-2 he should get away with it, why? cos he's a funny nice guy? aaah its only holloway, he makes us laugh lets let him off!

I was with Mick McCarthy last year and in total agreement with Holloway on this.

 

Why the hell are the rule-makers interfering with a manager's team selection. Absolutely ridiculous.

 

I'd have loved to see them trying to fine Brian Clough for this.

They were rested, theres a difference. I'd do the same in his position, few players can play week in week out at 100% form.

I realise that, but if they did so well on Wednesday against Villa, surely at least 2 or 3 should have kept their place if not more.

Im backing Holloway on this, he has a squad of 25 players and IMO can use them however he wants, I was at Upton Park yesterday and thought Blackpool were superb and should have taken all 3 points.

It's barmy. What next? Punish a team for playing like **** at the end of the season because they have a cup game the next week....like we did at Arsenal before we met them int he cup?
