Saint in Paradise Posted 11 November, 2010 Share Posted 11 November, 2010 I have decided after reading and watching these links, sadly confirming rumours I had heard, no way am I ever going to visit the U.S.A. again. I used to love going there, first visit was in 1971, found the people on the most part really great and my eyes were truely opened about so much  Treating people like this is terrible and as far as I am concerned it is no longer about airline passenger safety but now it has become all about getting people used to being totally controlled. "Land of the Free" ? not anymore it's not. http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=news/iteam&id=7774593 "Under new stringent regulations, pilots and passengers may refuse the body scanners but then undergo more extensive hand searches, including open hands frisking genital and breast areas." http://www.abc15.com/dpp/lifestyle/travel/flight-attendants-union-upset-over-new-pat-down-procedures Would YOU really want to go through this? If you say you don't mind then to me you have already become a controlled sheeple who believes everything you are told by the govt and I have great pity for you. Finally then, Heaven help your children and grandchildren because you as sure as hell won't be able too.
buctootim Posted 11 November, 2010 Share Posted 11 November, 2010 Bit of an over reaction. If some TSA security staff want to see me naked, im not going to worry too much about it. My only concern is that its actually a bit pointless. Anybody who wants to bring down a passenger plane wouldn't try and carry a bomb through security anymore, there are easier ways of doing it, as the recent printer bombs proved. thesaint sfc Posted 11 November, 2010 Share Posted 11 November, 2010 Meh. I wouldn't mind someone touching my genitals and breasts if it saved my life. Unfortunately, particularly at the moment we're under very high risks and there is no other procedure that has been tried that works as efficiently. Domodedovo airport has definitely had them since then and I'm pretty sure others have as well. They don't mess around over there and don't really give a damn if it invades anyone's privacy. As for the US, I remember Andy Parsons saying something like 'The self-declared beacon of democracy's last president was the son of a former president and their current president could easily have been the wife of another former president'. Sums it up. The Yanks don't tend to get the concept of, if they spend years making one thing completely impenetrable it will be tried somewhere else. Fine, I will continue to visit the US because like you I love the place whilst leaving you to get ever more angry.
Redondo Saint Posted 11 November, 2010 Share Posted 11 November, 2010 Every airport in the world have these types of procedures - Heathrow has to be one of he worst for insisting on frisking passengers. You would be better off not flying anywhere if you are so sensitive - don't single out the USA as being the worst because I can assure you it is not.
