Oh come on Left back

Is your angst against the NC down to the fact he didnt give you a job at the club and you no longer commentate

on saints player.

Nothing worse than a barrack room lawyer. Did you go to the gary neville school for trade union footballers.

You clearly have an agenda, so if your not leftback Mark. then you are the other person I thought you were.

I don't think he is Mark Dennis. He's got a job to string a coherent sentence together, let alone post on a computer.

I'll be interested to see your comments if and when the story surfaces then

So you want to see the newspaper article AND my comments on them? Just how much information are you looking for?

I understand that those who think LB is MD are wrong. I even think LB has stated on here he is not MD. Now if he lied when he said he wasn't MD that would mean he could be lying about anything else he has said. Now do we trust him about him not being MD but being ITK. If he is MD when he said he wasn't MD he may not be ITK.

I'm fairly certain that Lee Barnard is not the Managing Director but who is this ITK bloke?

Who cares - he was a 3rd rate, billy big B*****s manager and we now have an articulate, potentially excellent manager who has turned this team round.

Could not care less about Pardew - he's history (and a good job too)

I like Adkins but artculate he aint... his reports on games read like a football book of cliches!

(But he is a good manager and employed as such, not for his ability as a raconteur...)

Really? Imagine, if you will, that the allegation is that our beloved CEO punched a first teamer, to which Pardew was witness and didnt side with NC and was therefore sacked on trumped up "not performing" charges. I think that *might* have some effect on the team, especially if it meant someone high up had to leave.

Of course, what I have typed it a total fabrication, but it is one of many scenarios that could have happened.

But it coming out into the press would make no difference to the team as i would assume they already knew.

God I'd so love that to be true. Professional management techniques, policies, and speaking politely and respectfully at all times have their place - but theres nothing like an old fashioned smack in the mush for a recalcitrant player from a short Swiss banker to bring the fans back.

Are you really Donald Rumsfeld by any chance?

I am not DR and I am not ITK. I am also not LB. However I could be lying, in which case I would be Donald Rumesfeld and Leftback and in the know. Or in short DR&LB&ITK.

 It would be excellent!

leftback, aged 49/50 - about same age as Maradona, saw Pele at Fulham in March 1973 as kid, Mark Dennis born 1961 Streatham age 49.

Quite frankly, I couldn't give a toss. Pardew is gone, for whatever reason; it is immaterial now. Hearing some newspaper tales of their view of the events holds no interest for me, its old news (and not very important news at that).

Spot on !

I am confused here. Okay left-back certainly isn't as articulate as Mark Dennis and indeed most of his sentences are not coherent but he clearly has some computer skills or he wouldn't be posting on here!

So we're all just going to ignore the fact that LB has said he is not MD and has never played for Saints (ref. post 85) ?

If he was ex-Southampton left back Mark Dennis, and didn't want to reveal that fact, then my guess is he might:

(a) deny he is Mark Dennis

and

(b) deny he played for Southampton

Just a hunch..... ;-)

Ray Wilkins?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/9181246.stm

"Chelsea have announced they are not renewing the contract of assistant manager Ray Wilkins and that he is to leave the club with immediate effect."

I also was in Cobham this morning and Oxshott (where the Chelsea Training Ground is, not Cobham - although the two are very close). I can confirm that, as usual, there was a good-looking bird hanging around no doubt hoping to snare a married player or two for a spit-roast.

I did not see any red and white striped cars.

This is the old SAS/SBS syndrome, if someone tells you he belongs to one of these units he certainly doesn't and if he does he'll probably tell you he doesn't.

Apart from when they're double bluffing of course

"Chelsea have announced they are not renewing the contract of assistant manager Ray Wilkins and that he is to leave the club with immediate effect."

So, according to our spies (well LB anyway) our football dept head honchos were undertaking a fairly overt interview with a football person in Cobham today just as Ray Wilkins is waived farewell from Chelsea's TG at, err, Cobham.

Now, what could have connected us to him at this time, oh yes his brother, but more tellingly for me is that Wilkins (R not D) is a fluent Italian speaker.... ;)

Now let me see, is there not another club where the Italian manager has a bit of difficulty communicating with the players just now....nope can't possibly be that, Wilkins must be desperate to get a job as 3rd division head scout obviously.

However NC is a fluent Italian speaker, and also bizarrely a fluent English speaker. So why do we need a fluent Italian speaker? As for needeing his coaching skills, that is a different question. :-)

Edit ..... perhaps NC could give ne some english spelling lessons. I am obviously needeing some

We don't need a chief scout whose current experience is top of the Premier and dealing with £20m internationals, what we do need is the likes of Gordon Watson with a handle on every decent player in the lower leagues.

some of those lads aren't all that smart.World class warriors definitely,8th grade scholars...not so much.

How many of them do you know? Of all the very many I have met there was not a single thicko amongst them, and most people would be surprised by their average physique; they are not huge guys with bulging muscles.

have we had the "connolly issue" yet? related/unrelated?

I think the Connolly issue is the most important one,

the problem is it will never get further than the treatment room.

We know have the best manager in league 1[And one of the best outside the premiership],so what is the need to keep raking up the past.

I like Nigel but what are you basing that on according to the league managers own league table

http://www.leaguemanagers.com/managers/mpl-league.html

Nigel is the third best manager in all four Leagues however Gus Poyet is the second best so also the best manager in league one. Last year according to the same league table AP finished the ninth best manager in all four leagues over the whole season I'll be interested to see where Nigel finishes but I wouldn't mind betting it will be somewhere in the same area of the table (although last year he didn't finish in the top twenty)

So, if I said that I honestly do not know leftback personally, when in fact I do, what would be true? I do know leftback personally or I do not know leftback personally?

But then amount of wins is in no way a sign of managerial ability.

How is Roy Hodgson the second best PL manager? what a joke.

edit - nevermind, it's only based on a couple of games

eh? surely its a pretty good indicator though. In fact a manager can be crap at everything else in the job if he wins games people will rate him.
