georgeweahscousin Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Take this exactly how you want to. I spoke to somebody today who works for the Daily Telegraph. He told me that the truth behind the Pardew dismissal will be entering the public domain at some point and that several papers are biding their time before printing. He wouldn't tell me what he knew except that:- Neither the club or Pardew come out of it looking good. Somebody was punched. Not Pardew. It will be upsetting to some people at the club. Like I said make of it what you will. I have taken it with a pinch of salt.
RedArmy Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Let me guess, they'll wait until we're doing well (top 2) and then drop the bomb to fck our season up? Cnts.
georgeweahscousin Posted 10 November, 2010 Author Posted 10 November, 2010 It is legal go ahead they are waiting for I guess.
fareham saint phil Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Money on Wally Downes doing the punching!!! But surely there are NDA in place so it would have to be made worth AP's while to print something, and are we really that big a news worthy club? now if it was say wayne rooney and some hooker, oh done already!!
trousers Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 The Daily Telegraph is a right-wing newspaper ergo it won't be accurate. ;-)
trousers Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Somebody was punched. Not Pardew. "Not Pardew" as in 'Pardew wasn't punched' or "not Pardew" as in 'Not punched by Pardew"? Or both?
georgeweahscousin Posted 10 November, 2010 Author Posted 10 November, 2010 "Not Pardew" as in 'Pardew wasn't punched' or "not Pardew" as in 'Not punched by Pardew"? Or both? I assumed the former, but now you have made me think about it!
JackFrost Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Let me guess, they'll wait until we're doing well (top 2) and then drop the bomb to fck our season up? Cnts. I think Adkins will be too wise for that.
The Kraken Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 A fight between a relatively known former lower league manager at a League 1 club isn't the sort of amazing story the papers hang on to for ages to make a big deal of later. Maybe there'll be an article on it at some point, but I predict no-one outside Southampton will give a toss. Quite frankly, I couldn't give a toss. Pardew is gone, for whatever reason; it is immaterial now. Hearing some newspaper tales of their view of the events holds no interest for me, its old news (and not very important news at that).
Window Cleaner Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Let me guess, they'll wait until we're doing well (top 2) and then drop the bomb to fck our season up? Cnts. why should stuff like that change our form on the pitch. It's nothing to do with the players cos they already know all about it anyway.
trousers Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 I assumed the former, but now you have made me think about it! I too assumed the former but the statement didn't rule out the latter. Might be worth ruling that one out too.
Tac-tics Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Sounds about right, just as we get going, some story to **** the season up? Downes and Dodd?
Smirking_Saint Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 So there was a training ground bust up ??? God, no one envisaged that did they Hopefully it does all come out.
Window Cleaner Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 So there was a training ground bust up ??? God, no one envisaged that did they Hopefully it does all come out. Anyway leftback said it didn't happen so that's all we need to know right?
fish fingers Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Guly punched Barney for not inviting him to Nandos
leftback Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 If you dont believe anything ive ever written on here please believe this, there was never any incident of a fight or a punch thrown by either ap or wd and players,or a fight between any players, unusual for any club!! In fact it was only the atmosphere that permeated between bruno and ap that caused any problems, and that was only the demotivation of the tg staff, which inevitably filtered through to players, but which ap had numerous meetings emphasising the need for sticking together as a group, and not letting any of that affect the seasons only goal...the title. The lads were 100% behind ap and you can see that from the results that followed immediately.I know they are well payed pros who should play for the jersey, but there it is, they DIDNT, for the entire magnificent wilkins era!! Now we ARE playing for na so they are not a bad bunch, and to say there was offfield trouble is obviously somebody trying to justify the sacking for some reason....my thoughts are too obvious to print!!!! Its a poor briefing if its true, done by somebody who isnt very media savvy and badly advised by their pr team, only if its true though. On another matter, has there been any verification or news on the chief scout info i put on here, i know he's gone, but have we got another one in, as the window is approaching? Or are we wholly reliant on our transfer committee /talent identification strategist guru supremo department?.

Weston Saint Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Is anyone able to translate this please?Seems easy to understand as far as I am concerned. There was no fight. Pardew and Cortese did not get on. Training staff demotivated which fed into the players BUT they were 100% behind Pardew. I had heard similar things.
Weston Saint Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Who is Bruno?leftbacks version of Mr Cortese.

hypochondriac Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 I know people will dismiss me and I have only read the first post but I hears this a few weeks back from a mate who doesn't even support saints. I dismissed it though because I imagined that pardew would have to sign an nda? Who knows.
The Kraken Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 You really are quite tiresome I think reactions like this to leftback are more tiresome tbf. If you don't hold much stock in what he has to say, then ignore it. LB clearly has an avenue to infirmation from the club that most don't, so I for one welcome his (admittedly agenda-strewn) messages.
Dimond Geezer Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 . Now we ARE playing for na so they are not a bad bunch, and to say there was offfield trouble is obviously somebody trying to justify the sacking for some reason....my thoughts are too obvious to print!!!! Are you Dan Harding?
Smirking_Saint Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 I think reactions like this to leftback are more tiresome tbf. If you don't hold much stock in what he has to say, then ignore it. LB clearly has an avenue to infirmation from the club that most don't, so I for one welcome his (admittedly agenda-strewn) messages. I suppose. He would be quite interesting without the agenda, and without being an obvious cretin. I still think its Psycho.
hypochondriac Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 To be precise I heard about someone (maybe pardew) going public about his sacking and that neither looked very good. Heard nothing about punches though.
hypochondriac Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 You really are quite tiresome Please continue to post leftback and ignore the people who tell you not to. I am many others find what you have to say interesting.
Window Cleaner Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 I am really surprised that it matters so much to so many people as to why exactly he was sacked. We just need to move on because we are now playing quite well and getting some really good results. As far as I know the issue of compensation has been agreed and everyone should just let it go.
Legod Third Coming Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Let me guess, they'll wait until we're doing well (top 2) and then drop the bomb to fck our season up? Cnts. Right... A potential fight between someone no longer at the club and someone who may or may not be has the capacity to feck up our season??!! Hardly. Seriously, people need to get a grip. Anyone who thinks anyone other than Saints fans has even the slightest interest in what goes on at a poxy League One club miles from where they live is living in cuckoo land. Do you know which Doncaster player fell out of a pub last night and beat up his missus? Me neither because noone give a s h i t. Move on.
Smirking_Saint Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 I had heard about the punches etc, i had heard that the whole Pardew sleeping with someone was all b*llocks but there was some sort of training ground bust up resulting in Pardews coaching techniques. Whether it come out or not, the more i think about it the more id rather it didn't, part of me wants it to come out in order to put it all to bed, but a lot of me would rather it stays hidden, at the very least until the season is over. The team has managed to rise above any rumours, incidents, upset at removal or whatever it was and seems to be moving towards an in form march up the league, the last thing we need right now is more destabilization IMO. This whole incident will not be as black and white as it appears, i would imagine that neither Pardew nor Cortese would come out particularly well as was suggested. The important thing is that appointing Adkins seems to have been a winning idea and now all efforts to help him achieve the goal of winning the league (or atleast being promoted) should be done.
Smirking_Saint Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Please continue to post leftback and ignore the people who tell you not to. I and many others share your agenda Changed your grammar mistakes and changed it for you. Now please carry on the agreement we had.
Ken Tone Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Who cares its history now ! Wel I confess I care. The apalling results in the hiatus between Pardew and Adkins may well have cost us promotion. I'd like to know for certain who was to blame for that happening.
Seany S Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Guly punched Barney for not inviting him to Nandos LOL made me spit my beer out, did that >_
hypochondriac Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Changed your grammar mistakes and changed it for you. Now please carry on the agreement we had. Unfortunately I am on an iphone so it automatically makes mistakes on occasion. I was not talking to you.
dubai_phil Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Who cares its history now ! But that is the point. I firmly believe that there ARE elements outside the club (and I don't now think that LB is one of them) who DO mean harm to the club for their own personal gain. The club stand to gain nothing from the story coming out. The players stand to gain nothing from the story coming out. AP almost certainly stands to gain nothing from the story coming out. So, the obvious question is who DOES benefit? LB believes NC is thick as well as being our own ****. I don't think anyone can be this stupid. One day, they will make a mistake and can be named and shamed, odd fragments of their fingerprints keep appearing.
benjii Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Seems easy to understand as far as I am concerned. There was no fight. Pardew and Cortese did not get on. Training staff demotivated which fed into the players BUT they were 100% behind Pardew. I had heard similar things. So basically what the club statement said. Things weren't working and it was necessary to make a change. Hold the back page!
Toadhall Saint Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Quite frankly, I couldn't give a toss. Pardew is gone, for whatever reason; it is immaterial now. Hearing some newspaper tales of their view of the events holds no interest for me, its old news (and not very important news at that). Thats my view TBH. The only thing it will serve is to run the good name of Southampton Football Club through the mud. Not what is needed at all, not now, not at the end of the season.

Not what is needed at all, not now, not at the end of the season. I agree to an extent, but what if a similar thing happens with Adkins in the future?
derry Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Are you Dan Harding? leftback joined the forum in Oct 2007, Harding didn't join Saints until summer 2008. I think Weston is on the money, clubs he's been at, people he's known and seen, age, add up.
Weston Saint Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 So basically what the club statement said. Things weren't working and it was necessary to make a change. Hold the back page!Exactly.
Lets B Avenue Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Do you know which Doncaster player fell out of a pub last night and beat up his missus? Me neither because noone give a s h i t. Move on. Was it Joseph Mills?
Window Cleaner Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Was it Joseph Mills? Is he still at Doncaster then??
Window Cleaner Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 leftback joined the forum in Oct 2007, Harding didn't join Saints until summer 2008. I think Weston is on the money, clubs he's been at, people he's known and seen, age, add up. I must have missed all that then,Oct 2007 now that would have been the old TSW membership wouldn't it?
Toadhall Saint Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 I agree to an extent, but what if a similar thing happens with Adkins in the future? Adkins is temporary in the scheme of things same as players. SFC to me is far more permanent. Going over old ground just to score some points will not resolve anything. This continual thirst for knowing the truth of the ins and outs of cats arse will in the end be more detrimental to the club than doing it any good. Lets just say (for arguments sake) there was a massive punch up on the training ground with Chairman/staff/players involved - from a fan of SFC's perspective of course you want to know what caused it etc etc but from an outsiders perspective it doesn't put the Club in a good light does it? And there are far more on the outside than fans of SFC. I suppose the old adage of be careful for what you wish for........ is a very good one.
saint_mears Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 No need for papers to get involved as those with brain cells realised it was all about cortese and pardew not working. Anything else was made up by a pr company to try and justify the sacking. That of course failed as well although i bet some mugs still beleive it.
Saint_Jonny Posted 10 November, 2010 Posted 10 November, 2010 Donkey punch? Thats what I heard. Then some poo came out of Pardew, Cortesse didnt like it so he sacked him.

The thing is toadhall, if the 'outsiders' you speak of are football people or the media, then they all know the story anyway, regardless of whether it 'comes out'.
