Saint_Jim Posted 7 November, 2010 Share Posted 7 November, 2010 If this happens I think i wont be alone in saying the whole of world football will be behind AFC (except possibly 7000 MK fans)
hamster Posted 7 November, 2010 Share Posted 7 November, 2010 they will lose though although it would give their fans a chance to send out a message of intent. In the big scheme of things, just like fcum, it may be better to wait until they are on level par and tonk them in the league. Another great aspect of the cup is the knock on's for other clubs, ie both replays will have even wider appeal to the outside world. Just like the Shots v Bees, everyone wants to know who's gonna be playing at teh crabble, dover are a bigger draw that either of those two. georgeweahscousin Posted 7 November, 2010 Share Posted 7 November, 2010 Everybody who loves football wants this fixture and wants AFC Wimbledon to win it. It will no doubt be televised and I can also see there being trouble.
hamster Posted 7 November, 2010 Share Posted 7 November, 2010 I would actually like to see it drawn and see them win it at the Stadium MK. It will not happen though and is already the top game of my accumulator.

LGTL Posted 7 November, 2010 Share Posted 7 November, 2010 The same AFC Wimbledon that in turn stole the stadium of Kingstonian FC (the original occupants) weeks before a supporters group were going to secure the ground? I've no love lost for either.

The very concept that allowed the MK Dons to come into existence should leave them as the enemies of all football fans everywhere. AFC Wimbledon would have the whole of the country behind them. There wouldn't be trouble.... just about 50 MK dons hardcore wondering what the hell they have left themselves in for.

There wouldn't be trouble.... just about 50 MK dons hardcore wondering what the hell they have left themselves in for. There wouldn't be trouble between fans but I think there would be disorder, a lot of AFC fans don't even recognise the existence of franchise fc and would do something in form of protest. The real problems would be if it occurred in mk, afc fans would smash up the away end. It would be good for football for this fixture to happen to show the world that despite having their team stolen Wimbledon lived on. Franchise should never be accepted as just another club. Lord Duckhunter Posted 8 November, 2010 Share Posted 8 November, 2010 Reading some posts on other forums, the people behind the scenes at AFCW dont want to deal with Franchise FC, with ticket sales and other stuff that goes with Clubs meeting in the cup. The wounds are so deep that they are going to really struggle to do any normal day to day stuff with them. A lot of AFCW people really dont want the game to happen. I really hope this fixture is on and franchise fans get smashed all over the place and once and for all realise how much the rest of football despises their club. jjsaint Posted 9 November, 2010 Share Posted 9 November, 2010 I work in MK and, to be honest there's nothing like a McDons "supporter". They walk around all week in their spotless Man U shirts, and then become McDons supporters on the occasional Saturday, provided it doesn't clash with United playing on Sky. I know many lower league clubs have secondary supporters but not to this extent.

The9 Posted 12 November, 2010 Share Posted 12 November, 2010 (edited) Rumours that AFC Wimbledon may withdraw rather than play them. Rumours are complete cobblers, my boss is very ITK at AFCW (was elected to the Dons Trust Board in 2006) and said they had a committee meeting a few weeks ago to discuss their response in the event of the FA Cup drawing them together, which is the statement they put on their website immediately afterwards. FWIW, he'd also much rather not play them at all, as 50% of the gate money will go to them. Edited 12 November, 2010 by The9

Dr Who? Posted 12 November, 2010 Share Posted 12 November, 2010 I cannot stand MK nearly as much as the blue slime down the road. I watch out for them every week in the hope that they lose, just as I look out for the proper football team AFC in the hope that they gain promotion. Would love nothing more than AFC to overtake MK in the league so the balance of power can be rightly corrected!!
