Let's be honest our blokes couldn't be Rrsed today, lazy barstewards, Chaplow excepted and maybe Seaborne. Diabolical rubbish! I stayed to the 93 minute most around me didn't - serves the sad sods right. More important to catch your bus home before it got dark then lads? Ballacks to all those others who couldn't be Rrsed to turn out today to support the team as well?

What happened to Morgan by the way?

Rested.

I wish that I had been rested. I couldn't see a thing in the first half, I was near the bottom up the Chapel end of the Itchen and all the play was up the other end. What with the orange ball and acres of orange seats I didn't have a chance of knowing what was going on. I moved to the top of the Chapel second half and it was freezing but at least I could see the action, or lack of it. Luckily I stayed awake until stoppage time. I shan't be doing that again.

Well one of us needs an eye test.

Actually that looks like a fab idea by nc, professionally done proper fan meets player press conference. We should get our own tv channel if they can get candid interviews like that for us to enjoy.

'have you got Morgan's number' brilliant, what sort of girls have we got supporting this great club. mrs btf would never behave in such an unlady-like manner. Have word with yourself girlfriend.

I spent the whole 2 minutes 51 secondslooking up that blonde bit's skirt. Wish I'd stayed back now. PHWOAAARR!

Great tactical positioning by the cameraman/mobilephone man !!!

You could almost smell the Anchovies .... and a few great dummies making you think she was about to reveal wether the carpet matched the curtains.

I would have been very upset by this if I was a Shrewsbury supporter. I though we were poor - no pace - passing all over the place - Guly a dreadful performance - and that they matched us and with someone up front for them who could shoot not the midget they could have won. Back to normal for Carlisle please. :uhoh:

Thought Guly's performance was one of the worst I've seen for a saints player in since Steve Baker against pompey in 88' what ever position you play him in. shambolic how did he stay on so long

For a man being given his chance to shine he was woeful. At least for the Swindon match he had the excuse of it being his first.

We sat/stood twenty rows up in the Northam (usually being part of the respectable Kingsland) & I have to say the atmosphere was great all game. Funniest thing (probably old hat for the regulars) was the poor young steward trying to get people to sit down. He'd start at the bottom, getting one row after another to finally sit, like a slow-motion Mexican wave, until he got within a couple of rows of us, when a bit of action on the pitch or a chorus of 'stand up if you love the Saints' started, and everyone stood up again, meaning he had to retreat to the bottom and start again. To be fair his stamina was great over the full ninety minutes, but five times he got to the row in front of ours, but never made it to our row.

I guess my interest in this shows it was a pretty cr@p game, doesn't it?

Bit rich coming from you considering you were off to support Arsenal.

I'm sure they were p*****d off afterwards, but did they really do much of merit? Thought they were fairly solid at the back, but showed very little adventure against a poor Saints team that looked there for the taking at times - I think they were playing for the replay and so serves them right for not getting anything.

Plus I thought their fans were rubbish - made a decent bit of noise at times, but poor numbers, spent far too much time singing stuff like "Championship and you f****d it up" which thankfully didn't get a reaction.

I concur.

It's not just me then, how reassuring.

Yes, and there are probably one or two others who thinks the same. There is still something missing, which we all are trying to put a finger on. It seems that there is not enough threat from the forward line. Last year RL was as sharp as anything, and we lived on it alone long periods. Now he is off the boil, and I can't honestly say that I see any great improvement in his performances. He seems to give up on the balls where last year one more heave would have crafted a possible chance.

Barnard is a mass of endavour combined with theatricals and bad temper. All the hard work doesn't seem to create anything though. I'm not a great fan, and he hasn't won me over. In McMenemy's parlance he appears more like a navvy than a violinist.

Connolly was certainly in the right place yesterday, but we can't rely on him considering his injury record, and I also saw him in before his latest injury, starting a few games, and he looked far from convincing. Probably not a starting player anymore.

Guly was poor yesterday, but there are reasons for it. He should be playing behind and around the main striker and influence the game by seeing a lot of the ball, flicking it and moving it quickly. Against Tranmere he was sensational, which everybody instantly forget. He isn't a winger. Yesterday he wasn't given the ball and was forced to go around looking for it all the time. This endeavour is sometimes popular, but it takes strikers out of the area where they are effective. Also, Barnard is far from a sharp enough foil for him. It isn't surprising that Guly was often found on the left wing with Lallana and Harding, the only other players frequently playing the short, sharp balls which he thrives on. Maybe his skills will never be appreciated in English football.

Whoever did what yesterday, nobody was a poisonous danger in the opposition box, and the way I look at things, that is where the main striker counts. In turn this means that the midfield isn't clear which ball to play and hence no killer balls. This is a coaching matter as much as individual talent. On current form it isn't obvious who to pick as our main striker, but his position ought not to be wide or in the middle third.
