Reib80 Posted 7 November, 2010 Share Posted 7 November, 2010 and heres a trivia question for you 30+ saints fans. What was the cock-up with the 89-91 kit? That was the one where the fans had a black patch on the Sponsor but the team didnt, wasnt it?
bender Posted 7 November, 2010 Share Posted 7 November, 2010 (edited) That was the one where the fans had a black patch on the Sponsor but the team didnt, wasnt it? You get half a mark for that. What actually happened was the club sold loads of shirts with 'Draper Tools' on, but the team wore shirts with just 'Draper.' So they asked fans to bring their shirts back in and they stuck a massive black thing on with Draper over the top. Then they had to make the team wear the same shirts which is why apart from the first few games, the team wore a strip that had a bigger black bit with Draper on. Trader Posted 7 November, 2010 Share Posted 7 November, 2010 What about parallel sashes on the front - would make diagonal stripes. It'd be different. All right, all right, just a thought.
angelman Posted 7 November, 2010 Share Posted 7 November, 2010 If we can't have the Rank Xerox one (ahh....Steve Moran), how about the 1976-80 strip. A bit old fashioned but...still got one that I best get my kids into soon

It was a breath of fresh air when that was ditched for the KK shirt era.
Badger Posted 7 November, 2010 Share Posted 7 November, 2010 Another quirk regarding our kit history comes from the Admiral shirt 1976-1980: This is the shirt worn: This was also produced and in the first team photo 1976/7 some players are wearing this version: Does anyone remember seeing that being worn during a match ? I don't.
alpine_saint Posted 8 November, 2010 Share Posted 8 November, 2010 I wouldnt mind using the sash as the start of a cycle to re-visit our old kits. So, I wouldnt mind quarters next season.
rolosfc Posted 8 November, 2010 Share Posted 8 November, 2010 Go back to stripes. I love the new kit, but if we kept it long term it would take away from it being a 125 year anniversary kit.
holepuncture Posted 8 November, 2010 Share Posted 8 November, 2010 The Sash looks really smart on the pitch think, though I have been a big fan from day one! 20k sold now? Having a unique kit is brilliant, proud to wear it. Infact, I got two of them already and I will probably invest in one or two more before the season ends. A sponsorless shirt is a real privillegde and one we may not have again for a while. The yellow FA cup 30th anniversary was amazing too, unfortunately I got pizza and beer stains on mine (hence buying a spare sash kit!). I would like to source an untouched shirt if anyone knows how I could go about that?! If the sash is going to end this season, then the KK era kit please, awesome!
