Window Cleaner Posted 28 October, 2010 Share Posted 28 October, 2010 LOl..... Wakey wakey dune the away team get half of the gate receipts, so if we charged 25 quid, and sold 20,000, they'd get 250k If we decide to hand out a tenner back, thats down to us and that wouldn't come off the gate receipts, they'd still get 250k and we'd be left with 50k Probably not worth putting in the suggestion box. nope, some of the ticket price is deducted for VAT and expenses, the rest is divided, not the total ticket face value. If we get a 20K gate they'll probably end up with far less than 100K,because of concessions and deductions. Yes, yes of course there is vat and concessions etc, but whatever the total is they get their share, which would be 50% less the VAT and concessions etc, it would not be the total, minus any cash handouts we gave to homefans on the turnstiles. Not at all. At £25 I probably wouldn't go to the game. At £15 I will. I'd imagine a lot may feel the same. No point having £25 tickets if people don't want to pay that much to see an FA Cup 1st round game against a League Two team. Shrewsbury may even end up with more money this way. Matthew Le God Posted 28 October, 2010 Share Posted 28 October, 2010 True, still no need to have a dig at them though. Maybe they deserved it after the negotiation process collapsed. After all, it needed to be decided by the FA, and look who they sided with!? To some it may look petty to air it in public, but sometimes I think it can be justified. Of course none of us know the full details of what went on, but I don't see why people are using this of all things to slate Cortese yet again. If anything I think this shows him in a good light. Minsk Posted 28 October, 2010 Share Posted 28 October, 2010 Damned if he does damned if he doesn´t. Reading this thread I was thinking the same thing. If the OS had simply anounced the price as £15 for adults allt those (usual) people slating NC would be on here asking they aren't £10 and blaming him for the prices. They say they want to more of the goings on at the club end then when they are given this they drip about that too. This is why I don't bother reading a lot of the threads on here any more. FWIW, I thought the article was great and well done to NC for standing up for Saints fans.

Oh do get over it now. You lot hand your fun over the summer months. NC is head strong yes but also commited and ambitious, probably what we need right now. Gemmel wrote a great post in leftbacks agenda ridden thread that brings it all to light. I would rather have a chairman that upsets a few people (though some of you are going way way OTT) but delivers success than a bag of hot air that promises fans on the board etc and ends up putting us further back than i would ever have imagined 10 years ago. Is he really p*ssing that many people off ?? The whole geography of football changes so fast these days and need for success is so great i really don't give a sh*t. Money is the only thing that speaks in the game ATM, nothing more, what the hell sort of a point is a goodwill gesture when in all honesty it won't get you anywhere. Do you really think many chairman will part with players due to goodwill or cold hard cash ?? And looking at the amount of player power around ATM i would worry that chairman really don't have complete control any more. Get over the issues, they are hardly massive. The way i see it is he is trying to be progressive, and yeah he will get things wrong, of course he will, i don't agree with his media ban but can understand why, i don't agree with the ST payment scheme removal but understand why, i also think he can be better in respects to PR but is that a massive big deal ? If the FA went with Shrewsbury wishes for £25 tickets we would be bombarded from all corners, as ripping off the fans, though I agree in hindsight the report could of been worded better, I'm sure this happens a lot but other clubs don't bring this into the spotlight, perhaps this at least indicates one thing that Shrewsbury fans have a right to be ........ off with their club.
