Gas struts in boot

My boot on my toyota avensis wont stay open, been quoted £300 for 2 new gas stuts to be fitted.

Can obtain a set on internet for £30.

Does anybody know if these things are hard to fit?

Cant you just have a go at taking the old ones off? That will tell you.

Piece of cake. You might need a pair of hands to hold the hatch up for you but fitting them is easy.

barney, print this out if you can. you could place your laptop in the boot and follow it too.

Have fitted their struts. Excellent and just push on, just get a mate to hold the boot open. Buy without any worries.

piece of **** replacing, just pick a cheap set off ebay. 5min job.

struts all fitted works like a treat + saved myself over £200 (robbing main dealers) cheers for the advice.
