saint peach Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 I am fortunate enough to have 15 minutes with the legend that is Matt Le Tissier at 3pm today, so I was wondering whether there was any questions you would like me to put to the big man?
Baj Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 Ask him about truelegends website and whether he enjoyed his foray onto the internet.
Hatch Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 Does he want Wagner or One Direction to win X-Factor?
once_bitterne Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 He's on Talksport this afternoon on the Goldstein and Cundy show.

OldNick Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 ask him how he feels about LM after he was Taylors number 2 and overlooked him for Geoff Thomas, just when he was one of the best in the country
saint peach Posted 25 October, 2010 Author Posted 25 October, 2010 Well, turns out Matt called quicker than I expected so was unable to check back on the site. Sorry for that. However, I asked about as many Saints-related things that were relevant and have written in a Q&A format here: http://simonpeach.tumblr.com/ He said some interesting stuff on Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert & Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as well as old boys Theo and Bale.
Hatch Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 Thanks , interesting stuff. I liked this bit. SP: Do you feel the move from The Dell to St Mary’s has fans and players grow further apart? MLT: Yeah, that may have a small part to do with it. I mean the fans being further away from the pitch at St Mary’s may be a reason why. Maybe the players not being so keen to get out in the community as often as we did in the past is another. So that’s probably why there’s not quite the same affinity between the fans and players anymore. I wonder what Mr Barnard has to say about this. :-)

dronskisaint Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 Thanks for that - I've only met him once when he was in one of the hospitality suites & spoke after the match....I still have the bits I videoed on a phone that's three replacements old. Strikes me as being genuinely easy to talk to & interested in the questions although he probably gets asked most of them hundreds of times.

Top guy and seemed genuinely interested in Saints still. I tried to ask him as many questions as I could that weren't the same old stuff. Obviously I'd love him to have told me in detail each and every one of his goals but, as you said, he'll have been asked that hundreds of times before!
Huffton Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 Listen, nobody wants to see any football club go out of business and certainly I think everybody would agree that you want local derbies. You don’t want your local rivals to go out of business, you would want to play them and beat them a couple of times a season and I think that’s the way it should be. And I’ve not spoken to a single Southampton fan in the last few days that actually wanted Portsmouth to go out of business. You've not talked to that many Saints fans then Matt;)
BadgerBadger Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 Cheers SP, good read, some interesting articles on there
hamster Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 Is the 'Hamster incident' true? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?25863-Things-you-had-achieved-by-the-time-you-were-25....&p=875300 post 49 I swear that it is true Ron, even if he does not remember it I do, furthermore I had to take my tea break early due to having a tropical moment. Anyway, I fear that my believability factor is a tad higher than his considering his betting scam admission, my worst deed was the poker dice incident which as I have clearly stated was due to mitigating circumstances.
Cascadia Saint Posted 26 October, 2010 Posted 26 October, 2010 Football365 have quotes from your interview up, I thought it sounded familiar when i read it.. http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_6468743,00.html
Cascadia Saint Posted 26 October, 2010 Posted 26 October, 2010 Oh, and thanks for posting it. Always good to read an interview with matt.
Gemmel Posted 26 October, 2010 Posted 26 October, 2010 Oh, and thanks for posting it. Always good to read an interview with matt. Here's another one..... I don't think MLT and Rooney will ever be best mates http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/207574/Le-Tissier-up-in-Arms-over-greed-in-football
saint peach Posted 26 October, 2010 Author Posted 26 October, 2010 Thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated. It is in other media outlets because I had to send it out with work as well as on my blog, I just knew I would not be able to post as much stuff if it went out in separate stories. Expect to see his quotes on Adam Lallana on TeamTalk and such in the coming hours. I’ll be posting more Saints-related features on my blog in the coming days, weeks and months.
