OldNick Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Notts co sack manager on SSN so here we go again. New manager against us and a win
OldNick Posted 24 October, 2010 Author Posted 24 October, 2010 Probably the biggest myth in football!not against mot clubs perhaps, but time and again against us it seems to be the recipe for a good start
Window Cleaner Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 now let me see when we sacked our manager we won the next 15 on the trot....oh no sorry we didn't we lost a lot of games.
OldNick Posted 24 October, 2010 Author Posted 24 October, 2010 now let me see when we sacked our manager we won the next 15 on the trot....oh no sorry we didn't we lost a lot of games. not my point, watching saints for 40 + years it has always seemed the case that any team on a terrible run, not scored, change manager and it is us who open the floodgates. Just a perception Im sure and \I hope to be proved wrong saturday.
S-Clarke Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Most Notts County fans are up in arms about this. Similar reaction to when we sacked Pardew on their MB.
Window Cleaner Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Most Notts County fans are up in arms about this. Similar reaction to when we sacked Pardew on their MB. probably not really surprising, they're a promoted side aren't they? I'd have thought they were doing as well as can be expected tbf.
Matthew Le God Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Newly promoted Notts County are only 4 points from the playoffs, 6 points from automatic promotion place!
aintforever Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 not my point, watching saints for 40 + years it has always seemed the case that any team on a terrible run, not scored, change manager and it is us who open the floodgates. Just a perception Im sure and \I hope to be proved wrong saturday. I think that's more to do with us being ****.
Saints foreva Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 No doubt they will have a new man in place by our game - Wouldn't be surprised if it was Pardew.
Window Cleaner Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 I think that's more to do with us being ****. Not **** exactly but we do have a way of dumping ourselves in the ****. Our front 4 are misfiring and that leads to monumental problems,we try to reinforce them from our defensively orientated players and we get hit on the break.
Window Cleaner Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 No doubt they will have a new man in place by our game - Wouldn't be surprised if it was Pardew. won't go as far north as that.
Badger Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 not my point, watching saints for 40 + years it has always seemed the case that any team on a terrible run, not scored, change manager and it is us who open the floodgates. Just a perception Im sure and \I hope to be proved wrong saturday. My recollection also. How many players prolonged their top flight careers by scoring against us ? Wright,Dublin,John Barnes, and before that Frank Worthington (although 'sod's law that he had a goal drought on joining us of course.Great player though.)

JackFrost Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Notts co sack manager on SSN so here we go again. New manager against us and a win I know exactly what you mean. All depends whether a new manager is appointed by the time we play them.
Badger Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 I know exactly what you mean. All depends whether a new manager is appointed by the time we play them. Perhaps we could loan them Wilkins for a week.
SO16_Saint Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 No doubt they will have a new man in place by our game - Wouldn't be surprised if it was Pardew. Wouldn't be surprised if it's Pardew? I ****ing would be surprised!!
Badger Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Just been on one of their boards where someone is making out a case for Alan Pardew: http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=402&fid=17&sty=2&act=1&mid=2119753638 Elsewhere on there others are suggesting Martin O'Neill , WGS, and KK.
Seaside Saint 2 Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Interestingly there's no mention on the BBC article about a caretaker manager (the assistant's been sacked as well), so maybe they already have someone in place?
bender Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 If they dont have a new manager, this is good news isnt it?
Seaside Saint 2 Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 If they dont have a new manager, this is good news isnt it? That's what I was hoping, but knowing our luck it probably means they already have someone ready to go who'll get them to raise their game.
VectisSaint Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 not my point, watching saints for 40 + years it has always seemed the case that any team on a terrible run, not scored, change manager and it is us who open the floodgates. Just a perception Im sure and \I hope to be proved wrong saturday. Used to be that teams sacked their manager after they lost to us, as if losing to Saints was a sackable offence.
Crab Lungs Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 ... has been sacked. Bizzare. http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10426~2195198,00.html Hmmmm, wonder who will be in charge by the time we visit?
Badger Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Already a thread on this but seeing his name just reminded me, didn't Ruddock once race the length of the pitch to headbutt Craig Short ?
Crab Lungs Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Shiiite, just seen it after refreshing my browser. Apologies
St Chalet Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Shiiite, just seen it after refreshing my browser. Apologies Merged.
paulwantsapint Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Short deserved the ruddock headbutt after all he did foul shearer a player who never ever fouled anyone
Dalek2003 Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Anyone at County calling for GH as the next manager, must be another Dalek somewhere out there.
Smirking_Saint Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Why would it be Pardew ? That said, league one and bottom half of NPC is probably his level. Its a strange one for me, they were doing well and i believe that they have a limited budget atm after the 2nd takeover last year ?? Maybe wrong. It all smells like behind the scenes unrest again. My bet is Ince.

My bet is Ince. I don't have many valid reasons other than he is out of work, just seems like fate as we are playing them next week, it could very well be ince, would much rather play them under Ince than Pardew.
tartanowl Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 Very strange decision. Although we've already beaten them twice this season (away in league and home in JPT) they are one of the better sides we've played this season. They deserved to win at Hillsborough on the balance of play. They play football the right way and at least tried to win the game and make a match of it, instead of putting 10 men in their own half like most sides have at Hillsborough this season. Good passing team, their left winger Davies looks a very good player, and he has a great delivery. Watch out for him next week. They'll attack you from the off and constantly put balls in dangerous areas.

My bet is Ince. When he left the Dons last season he said he wanted to manage somewhere with ambition and some money to go with it rules out Notts county I would have thought. Still Ince would be good for us his team where guarnteed wins for us last season. Did some one on their boards really say MON? I thought we had some deluded fans. It's likely to be some lower league stalwart I've never heard of like most of the managers in League one I would have thought.

georgeweahscousin Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 [speculation]Pardew to be appointed on 3 year deal tomorrow, beats Saints 3-0 on Saturday and leads County to automatic promotion. Leading to frenzied outrage here and eventual meltdown of the site.[/speculation]
Lets B Avenue Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 No doubt they will have a new man in place by our game - Wouldn't be surprised if it was Pardew. What are the players' wives like?
Saints foreva Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 Some Notts fan on another site say that Ince will be announced later this week....
Crab Lungs Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 Some Notts fan on another site say that Ince will be announced later this week.... Lolz. He'll have 'em fired up for the first game but there is no-one around with poorer tactical nous than Ince. A poor lower mid table finish beckons ..
dune Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 Some Notts fan on another site say that Ince will be announced later this week.... It was mentioned on east midlands today yesterday.
Mao Cap Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 Notts managerless and missing a couple of key players? 2,000-strong Saints following brimming with expectation? It's a foregone conclusion I'm afraid. Saints to bottle it and lose 1-0
simo Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 Weren't they the next man city last year surely they could have anyone ?
Matthew Le God Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 From the official Notts County site... Announcement Tomorrow Posted on: Wed 27 Oct 2010 The Board have agreed terms with a new management team and an announcement will made at noon tomorrow (Thursday). This follows the departure of former boss Craig Short and his assistant Dave Kevan on Sunday. A press conference has been arranged for 2.30pm on Friday to present them to the media. http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10426~2198592,00.html He won't have much time to work with the players then. Plus, probably their two best players (Hughes and Westcarr) are unavailable.

RonManager Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 What they think of it all. LOL at post #28 http://www.thefootballforum.net/index.php?/topic/192905-paul-ince-the-new-notts-county-manager/page__pid__4295727__st__20#entry4295727
fanimal Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 looks like its gonna be Paul Ince - oh well, shades of MKD last season??
