Probably the biggest myth in football!
not against mot clubs perhaps, but time and again against us it seems to be the recipe for a good start

now let me see when we sacked our manager we won the next 15 on the trot....oh no sorry we didn't we lost a lot of games.

not my point, watching saints for 40 + years it has always seemed the case that any team on a terrible run, not scored, change manager and it is us who open the floodgates. Just a perception Im sure and \I hope to be proved wrong saturday.

Most Notts County fans are up in arms about this. Similar reaction to when we sacked Pardew on their MB.

probably not really surprising, they're a promoted side aren't they? I'd have thought they were doing as well as can be expected

tbf.

I think that's more to do with us being ****.

Not **** exactly but we do have a way of dumping ourselves in the ****.

Our front 4 are misfiring and that leads to monumental problems,we try to reinforce them from our defensively orientated players and we get hit on the break.

My recollection also.

How many players prolonged their top flight careers by scoring against us ?

Wright,Dublin,John Barnes, and before that Frank Worthington (although 'sod's law that he had a goal drought on joining us of course.Great player though.)

Notts co sack manager on SSN so here we go again. New manager against us and a win

I know exactly what you mean. All depends whether a new manager is appointed by the time we play them.

Perhaps we could loan them Wilkins for a week.

No doubt they will have a new man in place by our game - Wouldn't be surprised if it was Pardew.

I ****ing would be surprised!!

Used to be that teams sacked their manager after they lost to us, as if losing to Saints was a sackable offence.

Already a thread on this but seeing his name just reminded me, didn't Ruddock once race the length of the pitch to headbutt Craig Short ?

Why would it be Pardew ?

That said, league one and bottom half of NPC is probably his level.

Its a strange one for me, they were doing well and i believe that they have a limited budget atm after the 2nd takeover last year ?? Maybe wrong.

It all smells like behind the scenes unrest again.

My bet is Ince.

I don't have many valid reasons other than he is out of work, just seems like fate as we are playing them next week, it could very well be ince, would much rather play them under Ince than Pardew.

Very strange decision. Although we've already beaten them twice this season (away in league and home in JPT) they are one of the better sides we've played this season. They deserved to win at Hillsborough on the balance of play. They play football the right way and at least tried to win the game and make a match of it, instead of putting 10 men in their own half like most sides have at Hillsborough this season. Good passing team, their left winger Davies looks a very good player, and he has a great delivery. Watch out for him next week. They'll attack you from the off and constantly put balls in dangerous areas.

When he left the Dons last season he said he wanted to manage somewhere with ambition and some money to go with it rules out Notts county I would have thought. Still Ince would be good for us his team where guarnteed wins for us last season.

Did some one on their boards really say MON? I thought we had some deluded fans. It's likely to be some lower league stalwart I've never heard of like most of the managers in League one I would have thought.

Anyone at County calling for GH as the next manager, must be another Dalek somewhere out there.
I doubt it, there are not that many who are as deluded out there

Some Notts fan on another site say that Ince will be announced later this week....

Lolz. He'll have 'em fired up for the first game but there is no-one around with poorer tactical nous than Ince. A poor lower mid table finish beckons ..

It was mentioned on east midlands today yesterday.

Notts managerless and missing a couple of key players? 2,000-strong Saints following brimming with expectation?

It's a foregone conclusion I'm afraid. Saints to bottle it and lose 1-0 :(

Announcement Tomorrow

Posted on: Wed 27 Oct 2010

The Board have agreed terms with a new management team and an announcement will made at noon tomorrow (Thursday).

This follows the departure of former boss Craig Short and his assistant Dave Kevan on Sunday.

A press conference has been arranged for 2.30pm on Friday to present them to the media.

He won't have much time to work with the players then. Plus, probably their two best players (Hughes and Westcarr) are unavailable.
