spyinthesky Posted 23 October, 2010 Share Posted 23 October, 2010 Apparently that's what a lot of Pompey fans call us Saints, now that the SCUM myth seems to have been accepted, by most, as a made up tale. I guess they would had had a field day at the story in yesterdays Liverpool Echo which showed a bloke taking a horse into the Drive-In at MacDonalds, Aintree, for a burger! Apparently the chap had rowed with his girlfriend who had driven off with the horse box and he was trying to grab something to eat before riding home (think he was ****ed and kept falling of the horse!!) Of course the other possibility he was trying to sell the horse for burger meat!!
RedAndWhite91 Posted 23 October, 2010 Share Posted 23 October, 2010 Where did the whole pony fiddling thing come from? Is it just a crap comeback to the well known FACT that Portsmouth fans like their fish just a bit too much?
benjii Posted 23 October, 2010 Share Posted 23 October, 2010 I saw some beautiful horses in the Forest last weekend. I did not milk them.

I assume there were some old folk tales or whatever that was based on absolutely nothing, much like the Cornish Wreckers.
Wurzel Posted 23 October, 2010 Share Posted 23 October, 2010 Always assumed it was a childish attempt at retaliation for the (universally accepted as genuine) Skate insult, based on absolutely no evidence whatsoever except for the tenuous fact that we are closer to the New Forest than them
OldNick Posted 23 October, 2010 Share Posted 23 October, 2010 considering they are more likely to own a pony for pulling the caravans, it is surprising that the accusation is pointed to us
Essruu Posted 23 October, 2010 Share Posted 23 October, 2010 It was back in 2002, not a Southampton man, not a Southampton fan: but a Turkish immigrant who had been here only a short while. If this is the best that the Skates can do then who are we to argue. I couldn't find the original Echo story, but here's The Sun's report: - http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article148863.ece
