Andy_Porter Posted 22 October, 2010 Posted 22 October, 2010 Do you want to go bowling again? Haha maybe they would let us go bowling afterwards this time?! amazing. Looking at the teams left a trip up to manc for FCUM would be brilliant.

ericofarabia Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 A slightly aside point, but talking of local derbies, Hendon vs Met Police. Doesn't get much more local! Lol .... imagine if all police leave was cancelled ... leaving the oinkers without a team and having to forfeit the game
dune Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Gotta be Met Police away. Wonder what their ground is like... No doubt someone would ruin the day with some anti police chanting.

benjii Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Thinking about this from an altruistic perspective I ask myself: - to whom would a draw against us at SMS mean the most? - to which group of fans would a draw at SMS prove most exciting? - which team would bring a large allocation and a create a "cup final" atmosphere? - who could we beat quite comfortably? Yes, I hope, in the spirit of giving something back to the less fortunate in the footballing community, that we draw AFC Bournemouth, The Cherries, our local neghbours and many Saints fan's second team, at home in the FA Cup.
dune Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Away at Corby Town would be good. A trip to Scotland without the travelling and not far for me.
Window Cleaner Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Bet we get a crap draw, Accrington or Rotherham away, something like that.
benjii Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 ITV can even **** up televising a draw. Stop all this **** and pick the ****ing balls out you ****s.
Lighthouse Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Typical ITV sports coverage. Weclome to *insert sporting event*... bulls**t bulls**t bulls**t ... adverts ... recap bulls**t ... Main event.
Lighthouse Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 At least we're not going to f**king Colchester.
Lighthouse Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Shrewsbury at home, boring!! There is NOTHING in that bag of numbers that excites me. Met Police etc. would have been a good novelty, but seriously... meh.
Window Cleaner Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 At home v Shrewsbury. Play the ressies. and purge any suspensions to boot. Handy So anyone on 4 cards needs to get one next week, anyone on 3 needs to get 2:??
Saint Charlie Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Shrewsbury doing well in L2 and will raise their game. Sure NA will pick a strong team!
MarkSFC Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 There is NOTHING in that bag of numbers that excites me. Met Police etc. would have been a good novelty, but seriously... meh. Know what you mean but was hoping for an away tie at a very lowly non league team or H&W or Brighton at home!
Amesbury Saint Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 should fill the ground with that draw! Hope the club price it sensibly
dune Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 It's a good tie for Shrewburys fans. A trip to St Marys is always an experience for fans who don't usually visit top stadiums.
Shroppie Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Not a pushover. They're my local team and are doing well and playing decent football. We will need a strong team. Being selfish I'm hoping for a replay - just 8 miles away compared with St Mary's which is 200 and I can't get to the first game - England NZ at Twickers that day.
Chin Strain Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Dover Athletic (A) My place of birth, so would have been good
dune Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 The worst place I've had the mispleasure of visiting to sit and watch football, absolutely no leg room between seats to the side or front so an uncomfortable 90minutes coming up with this one - Hardly a great draw either, would've fancied us at home but the chances of progression must be slim. http://blueandamber.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=69489 WTF?
S-Clarke Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 ''Just thought of another point. Could we have our game moved to the Friday, Sunday or Monday as Bournemouth are also at home??'' lol
Matthew Le God Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 absolutely no leg room between seats to the side or front Well that part is true about St Mary's. Anyone over 6 foot struggles to sit comfortably, as your knees end up digging into the seat infront. One of the reasons I like Cortese's new stadium idea.
dune Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Well that part is true about St Mary's. Anyone over 6 foot struggles to sit comfortably, as your knees end up digging into the seat infront. I've never noticed a problem. Perhaps you mean anyone over 6 foot and obese struggles to sit comfortably.
Shropshire Saint Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Excellent draw - I live in Shrewsbury. Good side though - will not be easy.
The Cat Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Quality draw for me, one of my best mates is a Shrews fan.
Matthew Le God Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 I've never noticed a problem. Perhaps you mean anyone over 6 foot and obese struggles to sit comfortably. What does weight have to do with length of limbs?
dune Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 What does weight have to do with length of limbs? Because if you've got a fat arse you won't be able to sit as far back in a seat resulting in your knees sticking out further.
Matthew Le God Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 (edited) Because if you've got a fat arse you won't be able to sit as far back in a seat resulting in your knees sticking out further. Well I'm far from overweight, 6 foot 1 and I don't have anywhere near enough leg room. My knees dig into the seat infront. I blame Rupert Lowe for making such a stadium! Edited 24 October, 2010 by Matthew Le God
Dr Who? Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Have we ever played a none league team in the FA Cup. I was hoping for Cambridge away!!
Matthew Le God Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Have we ever played a none league team in the FA Cup. You don't need to go back very far to find one... Last season we played non league Luton Town in the 3rd round.
SparkySaint Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Well that part is true about St Mary's. Anyone over 6 foot struggles to sit comfortably, as your knees end up digging into the seat infront. One of the reasons I like Cortese's new stadium idea. I'm over 6ft and I have no problem with the seats at St Mary's
norwaysaint Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 We should be confident here, Saints almost never go out of cup competitions to teams who, on paper, we should beat easily.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 24 October, 2010 Posted 24 October, 2010 Will not be an easy game - a defo banana skin for this squad.
tartanowl Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 There is NOTHING in that bag of numbers that excites me. Met Police etc. would have been a good novelty, but seriously... meh. You're not the only ones! I would have liked Sheffield FC but we've got a shocker instead. Will not be an easy game - a defo banana skin for this squad. Do you think so? Looking at their away record and with your squad and home advantage you should win comfortably. Normally I would say the same about us, but our cup record in recent years has been appalling. I know nothing about Southport. I'm slightly dreading the trip. I bet we lose.
Verbal Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 We should be confident here, Saints almost never go out of cup competitions to teams who, on paper, we should beat easily. That did make me laugh.
SuperMikey Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 I'm over 6ft and I have no problem with the seats at St Mary's I'm 6'4 and I have problems sitting comfortably at St Mary's, but I am a bit of a porker as well
RonManager Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 It is true, I find it fcking uncomfortable. If a fat person sits next to me it's unbearable. If 2 fat people arrive, I go home. Perhaps there should be a 'who ate all the pies' stand.
