Nexstar Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 Good news, a win this weekend and hopefully we'll have nearly 2,000 up there.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 Got my ticket, should be a good one.
La BoIS Saint Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 Got my ticket' date=' should be a good one.[/quote'] It is a good ticket, got a bar code and everything which is rather appropriate given their home kit. Jimmy Sirrel Upper so according to the map on the back we are along the side.

suewhistle Posted 23 October, 2010 Posted 23 October, 2010 Looking forward to it. Surprised with how many we're taking. We're not Portsmouth you know..
red&white56 Posted 23 October, 2010 Posted 23 October, 2010 I have a spare ticket for a student for a tenner if anyone's interested. Reason - my son can't go, told me after I had bought the tickets.
Nexstar Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 1,600 sold for County, only 100 left of the second allocation - Saints twitter
Matthew Le God Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 1,600 sold for County, only 100 left of the second allocation - Saints twitter It is even better than that... officialsaints Saints FC Update on the Notts County sales - over 1,800 now sold, with a further 400 due to arrive at the ground to go on sale tomorrow #saintsfc 52 seconds ago So over 2,200 saints fans potentially there.
Appy Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 Looks like it could mirror the away game last season at Orient, a far more impressive turnout this time round in my opinion with the distance.
Hemel Saint Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 Saw this stat page for Notts County… Why cant we do this? …or do we…? 2010/11 Away Followings http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/page/AwayFollowings/0,,10426,00.html
Sour Mash Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 Saw this stat page for Notts County… Why cant we do this? …or do we…? 2010/11 Away Followings http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/page/AwayFollowings/0,,10426,00.html Agreed, being the anorak that I am, had a look at that the other week, important information for those that care about such things
JRM Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 Our away support wont look that impressive up there when you consider they have already had visits from Wednesday and Huddersfield taking considerably more. 2200 should be about right when you consider that as a % of our home attendance. Using that as a ratio teams like Brighton have much much better away support than us.

That is true but with Brighton they are a much bigger club than their attendances suggest due to the ****ty stadium and reasonably pricey tickets.
mitch01 Posted 25 October, 2010 Posted 25 October, 2010 Up in Nottingham at uni so getting a couple of my mates along aswell. Been over a year since my last away day experience, can't wait!
South City Si Posted 26 October, 2010 Posted 26 October, 2010 Going up for the weekend. Suggestion for pre and post match pints would be helpful???

JustMike Posted 26 October, 2010 Posted 26 October, 2010 3rd batch now requested. having to move home fans to cater for us. good effort!

Sheff wed and uddersfield have a short trip round the corner so us bringing up 2000+ from the costa del soton is a good effort. How many did uddersfield bring here last season?
oldsarum Posted 26 October, 2010 Posted 26 October, 2010 Huddersfield had 3,161there opening day of the season according to their programme

Sheff wed and uddersfield have a short trip round the corner so us bringing up 2000+ from the costa del soton is a good effort. How many did uddersfield bring here last season? 500ish. Tuesday night game though, so not really a true reflection on their usual away support which I've heard is pretty good.

Sort of puts things in perspective - mid-table third division Saints taking over 2000 to third division strugglers notts cty, when only last saturday with possibly the last chance ever to see the best supported club in the 2nd division () P****y came out to warm up to a storm of applause from the 1,000 or so travelling blues.
Gemmel Posted 26 October, 2010 Posted 26 October, 2010 Is anyone going by train? The best i can see is 80 quid return - Are there any offers out there I'm missing
JRM Posted 26 October, 2010 Posted 26 October, 2010 (edited) Is anyone going by train? The best i can see is 80 quid return - Are there any offers out there I'm missing Have you got a network railcard? One option to reduce the cost is get a network railcard cheapday return Southampton Central to Bedford (within network southeast region) for £23.50, you would then need to get a Bedford to Nottingham return for £29.30, but that would make it £52.80 return in all. If you have any kids that travel with you get a family railcard, get a 1/3rd off for yourself for the whole journey. Bit of advice to any fans who want to travel by train to away games, get yourselves organised in advance and book the cheap deals available, often go on sale 10-12 weeks in advance and makes the days out much more affordable. There are also group fares available if you have a group of 10+, you can get special fares by contacting the train operator. One thing saints defintiely lack is the ability to run and operate unofficial coaches / mini buses, in general our support lacks a bit of get up and go, Nottingham for example ISN'T THAT FAR. The AA routemaster recommends it is a 3 hour drive, get in the motor with a few mates, get a few decent tracks on the stereo and a bit of banter going and you'll be there before you know it. saintsforlife7 Posted 26 October, 2010 Posted 26 October, 2010 What colour will we be in, as they play in black and white, maybe they will mix the kit up depending on the shorts and socks from Notts?

The best i can see is 80 quid return - Are there any offers out there I'm missing Checked these prices for this trip Sunday AM and they were £63. Went back to purchase Monday and gone upto £80...I was lead to believe the train was a cheap way to travel.

However, not too sure what to do about Oldham at the moment, FA Cup 3rd round day isn't it?

The "or so" bit being around 200 less. As skate Andy Awford said at Hull on Solent, in typical blue-few bullsh*t "massive...huge p*mpey support...800-odd travelling fans". Unbeaten for half a dozen, possible "last ever game" and he calls that "massive". Still, twice as many as they took to their previous away game I suppose.

Anyway, the principle is sound, I've even gone so far as to start a thread on it in the Away forum. A place where people can post up super deals for the benefit of all. Except that Sheffield to Nottingham is the equivalent of Saints to Reading. 2,200 is not "about right" - it's bloody good.

Ha, no worries. bit of a bugger with away games on 3rd and 4th round cup days etc, not too much one can do about it. Good idea re. the "super deals" thread, however, being the selfish c**t that I am, I shan't be posting on there until my pals and I are fully booked up first for any trip ;-)
Griffo Posted 26 October, 2010 Posted 26 October, 2010 I have a spare train ticket from St Pancras - Nottingham & also then for the return journey. It is only valid with a young persons/16-25 railcard, but only £16! I also have a spare (junior) match ticket, £6. Face value on both tickets. PM if interested
Sour Mash Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 Just in case anyone has missed it, its now All Ticket on Saturday.
dune Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 Just in case anyone has missed it, its now All Ticket on Saturday. Saw that on the OS this morning so rang up at 0830. I'm a bit ****ed off about that because it means i've had to pay the booking fee.
georgeweahscousin Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 http://www.shoot.co.uk/news/latest_article/C50/leagues_1_2/saints_produce_comeback Welll I bought 25 tickets, as it is forming part of my stag weekend. I hope the travelling faithful aren't going to let me down, I have a few non Saints in amongst us. Make some noise!
Saint_John Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 I see Lee Hughes is OUT on Saturday http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/Disciplinary/SuspensionLists Notts County FC LEE HUGHES 23/10/2010 30/10/2010 Suspended from all first team football until the Club have completed 1 first team match for 5/10/15 cautions
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 I see Lee Hughes is OUT on Saturday http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/Disciplinary/SuspensionLists Well that's good news
StD Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 Westcarr (their top scorer with 7 so far) is also out according to my Notts supporting brother.
suewhistle Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 Just in case anyone has missed it, its now All Ticket on Saturday. The game against West Ham away when we drew and stayed up was also "all ticket" according to our club. A group of us went up on the day and got tickets in the home stand... ;-)
ladysaint Posted 27 October, 2010 Posted 27 October, 2010 I have a couple of seats available in Minibus leaving Soton Central at 9 a.m. if anyone is stuck for transport.

You seem like a good person to know to save a buck! Another good tip for using the train is to Megatrain it to London (£2 return if you book in advance) and then go London Midland to Birmingham (£12) and get to wherever you need to go from there. Very handy for Walsall away!
