Secret Site Agent Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 (edited) We have offered Adam a big wadge of cash according to my 'Insider', (which I didn't even know I had) to stop him going to Birmingham. And it's big, Huge, Ginormous and Massive.......Aledgedly. Cue the 'We already know' brigade. But forgiveness if this is old news, I have been down a hole for the last week, (and NO, i'm neither Chilean nor a minor) Edited 21 October, 2010 by Secret Site Agent don't want to upset the Pedants
Andyb1 Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 there was a snippit in the sun about it today..
RonManager Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 Wadge? is it procounced Vadge? fnnaaar fnnaaar
Secret Site Agent Posted 20 October, 2010 Author Posted 20 October, 2010 No, Wadge Yes, Adam has been offered YOU to stay instead of going to Birmingham.
ericofarabia Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 Will it be in brown paper envelopes leftover from Redkraps days or an official contract?
marc_saint Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 Has this thread been moved to the The Muppet Show?
Charlie Wayman Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 We have offered Adam a big wadge of cash according to my 'Insider', (which I didn't even know I had) to stop him going to Birmingham. And it's big, Huge, Ginoumous and massive.......Aledgedly. Cue the 'We already know' brigade. But forgiveness if this is old news, I have been down a hole for the last week, (and NO, i'm neither Chilean nor a minor) I'm pretty sure this "ginoumous wadge" would have been offered by a Birmingham fan.

SuperMikey Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 Define big, huge, ginoumous (?) and massive... Either way, hope he will sign because losing him would be a bitter, bitter blow to us.

But forgiveness if this is old news, I have been down a hole for the last week, (and NO, i'm neither Chilean nor a minor) Good news to confirm we've definitely made him a formal offer, and that it's a generous one. I don't see it changes much in the short term though; it's still very much in AL's interests to see his current contract out to the summer and make a decision then. He can then either decide to re-sign with us if we go up, or with one of what will likely be a number of potential suitors from the leagues above. Of course, if he's a home town boy and just doesn't want to move it would great for us to have him put pen to paper. But very unlikely IMO.
Hamilton Saint Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 Two pedantic points: 1) Always proofread your thread title before posting. 2) Ginormous is a combination of gigantic and enormous; therefore, spell it as ginormous. That is all.
The Kraken Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 It's only the Daily Heil, but they confirm the story. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1321994/Southampton-offer-Adam-Lallana-deal-extension-fend-Birmingham.html Not mention of how to spell Ginormous though.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 More importantly, does he fancy the big wadge of cash more than the move to Brum?!
Matthew Le God Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 It's only the Daily Heil, but they confirm the story. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1321994/Southampton-offer-Adam-Lallana-deal-extension-fend-Birmingham.html Not mention of how to spell Ginormous though. Doesn't confirm it. Opening post says Saints "have offered" and the Daily Mail says Saints are "ready to offer". The Daily Mail article was also online 10 hours before this thread was started!
dronskisaint Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 If true - good If bullcrap please go away;)

Matthew Le God Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 Maybe the article was published, Saints then made the offer, then this thread was created? Yes that could be true. But my point was that the article doesn't confirm the thread is true.
Verbal Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 If true then I would feel like this You feel blue with a white question mark?
Wildgoose Posted 20 October, 2010 Posted 20 October, 2010 He has been offered Papa Wadgo? All I can say to that is Waigo if he can stay on a good wage here?! ;-)
Gordon Mockles Posted 21 October, 2010 Posted 21 October, 2010 Ginoumous I love this word. If it was a word, which sadly it is not yet people still like to morph "gigantic" into "enormous" to make up new words. Stu*****s!! ;0) LOL

That is all. Thanks for that. I wont look to use my blackberry any more, i'll wait until I am in a nice air conditioned office to post. Or at home, which I am unable to do as I work away.
Miffy Posted 21 October, 2010 Posted 21 October, 2010 You feel blue with a white question mark? ...or white with a little red cross?

the wedge Posted 21 October, 2010 Posted 21 October, 2010 He'd definitely sign up if they offered him wedge.
SaintBobby Posted 22 October, 2010 Posted 22 October, 2010 Wedges and wadges aside, I'd say it's likely that we will make him a very good offer and he'll sign. That doesn't mean he stays for another 3 years, but it does mean (a) he gets paid many thousands more every month and maybe a signing on bonus and (b) if he does go we get much more in transfer receipts. Given this looks to be in both Adam's and in Saints' interest, it will probably happen. He may well still leave in the Summer , even then.
Topcat Posted 22 October, 2010 Posted 22 October, 2010 The right time for a large offer was December 2009 which was 6 months after the new ownership and with 18mths left on his contract. At this point Adam can force a sale through to a Club elsewhere simply because he can hold over us the threat of being free of any contract next summer with us then getting a development award. This delay will probably have lost us £2m to £5m.

Saint Billy Posted 22 October, 2010 Posted 22 October, 2010 They better offer him a wedge because there is no chance of Rooney being his replacement now.

Of course you know with absolute proof that this is the first and only offer we have made.
kpturner Posted 22 October, 2010 Posted 22 October, 2010 (and NO, i'm neither Chilean nor a minor)What has the fact that you are not under age got to do with it?

doggface Posted 23 October, 2010 Posted 23 October, 2010 The original mail article was 11 hours after this thread so either the op is confirming the mail story (not the other way round), or his source just read the paper.
